The Most Private RV Parking in Packwood—Compare and See for Yourself! Note: as of August 2026 there is a fire ban for all fires in the area, including recreational camp fires. No use of the fire pit until the ban is lifted. Propane flames with an off/on switch are ok. Escape the crowds and discover your personal retreat at the base of Mt. Rainier! Spanning nearly an acre of tranquil, old-growth forest, this property offers unmatched privacy & space. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, and natural beauty, this is where your journey begins. This is the largest and most private RV site in Packwood, offering space to relax and unwind like no other. We invite you to compare with other options and see what makes this property truly special. What You’ll Love: Spacious, Level, and Graveled RV Parking: Complete with 30-amp electric, water, and septic hookups. Private Fire Pit: Perfect for evenings under the stars. Covered Picnic Shelter with Lighting: Enjoy meals or gather, rain or shine. Convenient Access: A U-shaped, pull-through driveway or easy back-in/out option, plus a large paved cul-de-sac nearby for hassle-free maneuvering. A Gateway to the Pacific Northwest! Centrally located to iconic destinations, this property is your perfect basecamp for adventure: Mt. Rainier National Park: 12 miles to the Stevens Canyon entrance and 28 miles to the Nisqually entrance (via summer access). White Pass Ski Resort & Pacific Crest Trail: Recreation for every season. Cowlitz River and Packwood Lake: Great for fishing, kayaking, and relaxing by the water. Mt. St. Helens & Mt. Adams: Iconic landmarks within reach. Though secluded, you’re just minutes from Packwood’s shops, restaurants, and gas stations. Relax and Recharge! Hear the distant sounds of Butter Creek as you enjoy the peaceful forest setting. Spend your days exploring, then gather around your private fire pit or relax under the covered shelter to reflect on your adventures. Reservations require a self-contained RV or vehicle with a toilet. One tent allowed if accompanied by an RV with a toilet. Maximum occupancy: 6 guests. IMPORTANT ACCESS NOTE: Vehicles towing trailers 30 feet or longer may have difficulty navigating a bend in the driveway near a tree. Guests with trailers of this length should consider another property. Although most guests navigate this section successfully, some could not access the property. Beyond this tight section, ample parking and maneuvering space is available. If you are looking for an uncrowded, truly private and memorable RV parking spot to call home for a while, then this is for you. Sink your teeth into the heart of the Pacific Northwest: we guarantee you won't be able to finish all the hiking trails within a 60 minute drive radius. This is an outdoor paradise waiting for you to explore, or simply sit back and enjoy. The lighted picnic shelter will allow you to make and eat meals, play games or simply sit and talk after the sun goes down. Be sure to bring your horseshoes and play a few games in your own horseshoes pits. The fire pit is huge and will allow plenty of room for everyone to sit around it. You'll feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but just a few miles from the amenities of Packwood, including a grocery store, gas, hardware, auto care, restaurants, and a museum. This is an established RV parking place that has been privately used, but is now made available for others to use. Please note: there are no restroom or toilet facilities provided; you must provide a vehicle with a bathroom. The roads leading to the site are scheduled to be plowed after snowstorms, but the property itself will not be plowed. Packwood does receive snow on occasion, but usually not a lot. The real snow happens at White Pass and Mt. Rainier. However, please watch weather reports and come prepared.
