Weekend Trip to KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN

We only stayed for one night at the cabin and wish we could’ve done two. This is a rustic cabin and we were prepared for that. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the gorgeous wildflowers and views, and the simple but comfortable accommodation. We had minor issues lighting the stove but followed instructions and the last reviewers notes and got it started. We didn’t shower, so can’t comment on that. The porta potty was very clean. We brought our camp lantern and mostly used that while we played games. Spring is a great time to visit and we’d definitely return.

2 nights at Dog Mountain RV Park & Lodge

Enjoyed this little spot. Quiet and Astrid was very nice in getting me checked in and giving directions on bathroom/showers and where to park my trailer and boat with the spot I reserved. Location is great and our site had 30amp hookup, dry no water. (which was fine I had my own) Site W9. The trains can be heard as it's nearby throughout the night, however it doesn't bother me, bring earplugs and you're good to go! Will come stay again!

Weekend Trip to The Snowden Yurt

The yurt was cozy, even though it was cool for April, thanks to an easy to use heater. The unique hand-built features of the yurt add a great feel to the place. The hand-hewn rafters were so much more beautiful than machine made ones. Richard provided easy to follow directions and helpful tips. The short drive into White Salmon is scenic, with great views of both Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood (the top of which you can see from the yurt as well). The three of us enjoyed our stay at the yurt, and enjoyed listening to the music of our hosts Tova and Richard too!

Irene was so accommodating and welcoming, the yurt has so many lovely and thoughtful touches. I slept like a log!! I can’t wait to come back and spend more time. The pictures don’t do it justice, my jaw dropped when I opened the door! It’s so spacious and cozy at the same time.

2 nights at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN

First time using Hipcamp and had a great time visiting this charming cabin. I loved all the artwork hung up and the old radio made the rustic atmosphere complete. Weather was perfect throughout our stay, with clear skies we took a trip to the Goldendale Observatory for their night tour which was amazing! This place has a few toilet options to pick from; a port-a-potty, a compost toilet in the front by the shower, and a toilet in the shed. Plenty of utensils for cooking and a refrigerator/freezer. Bring your own sheets, we brought our own pillows and blanket, but there was a comforter and pillows there in case you forgot. The bed upstairs is a king-sized bed with a cot. The only minor complaint is that because this is a pet friendly place, naturally there was dog hair everywhere on the floor and furniture when we arrived which made it a little tough tidying up. Not too bothered by it since we were looking for a getaway and a little dog hair is nothing. Unless you have pet hair allergies, I highly recommend this place.

It was a fun experience sleeping inside a yurt for the 1st time. Yes, truly beautiful surroundings, meadows & mountains and so peaceful. Checked out the tree house too. We enjoyed our Glamping here. Met their cute dog, Acorn, a very good doggo!

3 nights at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN

Gorgeous, Stunning view of Mt. Adam’s. Peaceful. Cozy, charming cabin. Very comfortable bed. Rustic Charm. Obvious owners use and love the place themselves. Fantastic location to explore area. Stunning star-gazing and astronomy opportunity. Cons/should know: 12 V cabin electrical. If you need to run devices on AC (laptop) you may need an inverter. Or bring extra power banks for your devices. Overall, we had a great time and hope to return. ♥️

A very beautiful area and great views/solitude. The hosts were very friendly and got us set up with a nice drum and supplies to make a fire since it is green and blooming there right now

A wonderful and cozy yurt placed in a beautiful setting. It was wonderful to get away for the weekend without cell service inside the yurt to really relax. Our last night we climbed to the top of the hill at sunset and my partner proposed! It was so perfect with the rolling hills around us, the mountains in the background, native plants blooming all around, and the beautiful sunset! This place will now always have a special place in our hearts.

2 nights at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN

Cute cabin in the middle of nowhere. Great place to really reset your mind. If you are someone who is used to primitive camping, then this is a place for you! If you are picky and expect higher end touches, this is not the place for you. Pros: Quiet and very comfortable bed. Cons: Not enough water on premises to take a shower (definitely bring your own). The shower is a portable propane heated kit that you need to set up manually. If you urinate often in the middle of the night, going up and down the narrow spiral staircase will be an issue for you; the portable potty is outside. There are no curtains upstairs, be prepared to wake as soon as that sun meets your eyes. Don’t forget to bring your own towels, hand towels, and bed linen. Trust me, you will want them. The propane “wood stove” took a bit of figuring out. The directions on top of the stove actually work better than what is in the owner’s welcome book. You will need to remove the front panel (door) completely by lifting up and out and manually light the pilot. Once it is lit, turn the nob below to on and switch to on (located on top of the device) at the same time. This will probably be difficult to do if you are visiting this place alone. Oh! And make sure the propane tank outside is on and that the orange nob behind the stove is turned to on, first, before attempting to light. There are two doors: only one door opens. This cabin will be hot in the summer.

Scott has the most amazing Treehouse! I cant tell you how much we got to bond over this whole experience. The bathroom was peaceful. The beds were cozy. The shower outside was awesome! The ladder was treacherous haha! I can’t believe the view and the wild life all around us. We will be back to this outstanding, homey treehouse again!!!!

We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful location, close to lots of adventures. They had all the basic necessities covered. Views of Mt. Adams. Fell asleep to the soundnof owls.

2 nights at Romantic Forest Hide-a-Way

We had a great time at this little cabin. The view on one side had a view of construction equipment and there was some construction noise when we arrived but it stopped shortly after and did not resume. We had a great time going through all the tapes in the cabin- our favorite was Kitaro Astral Voyage. The grounds were nice to take a walk on, and found it extraordinarily easy to have a dog with us, the gate at the top of the stuff was perfect to keep him contained while in the hot tub and there was so much space for him to run around and get some energy out. The wood stove kept the cabin plenty warm- almost too warm much of the time so we had windows cracked and the fresh air was nice. The only part that was iffy to me was asking for us to do our own cleaning up, as well as leave a tip for the housekeeper, as well as a $100 cleaning fee and while this has become standard for most places unfortunately, it doesn’t sit well with me to ask for all 3 of those things, especially as the cabin wasn’t pristinely clean to begin with. The dust bunnies under the upstairs bed and splatters on the wall around the stove and the splatter on the bathroom door need attention, however we are not clean freaks and it wasn’t too much of a bother. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend this spot. Next time we would probably go for the yurt as it is slightly more secluded without being in view of houses/construction equipment. Oh, and large people might struggle to get up the stairs. 5*

We loved staying in this cabin! Such a cool off-the-grid property with great star viewing and rustic charm. Ticks are out this time of year so plan accordingly, but it’s nothing to prevent you from enjoying this place. We had our two young kids who loved mucking around the property and exploring.

There is a full bathroom and amenities to include fridge, microwave, coffee pot and air fryer just a short walk away! Dishes are not included and cooking utensils are very limited. Winter sports galore up here right now! Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ample parking for snow mobile trailers! OR bring your favorite book and come enjoy a peaceful restful weekend! Springtime is a gorgeous time of year up here and turkey season is a favorite! Ample room for boats/trailers if you are considering hitting Drano lake for some springer salmon fishing! It is apx 30 minutes away. In the summertime come up and enjoy the hiking! Sleeping Beauty trail is just a few minutes away and you are within 30 minutes or Hood River if you are looking to explore and check out wineries. There are cheese caves, ice caves, Goose Lake, Council Lake and so much more! Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Hood River fishery has been amazing and the fall colors can't be beat! There is a fire pit and campfires are welcome when there is not a burn ban. Trout Lake Inn is a local favorite up here and check their Facebook to see what live entertainment they have coming up. Pets are welcome - please make sure they are well behaved and are kept close to the cabin. I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area. Come enjoy the mountain air - it is good for the soul! **No parties - limit of 2 adult guests and up to 2 children. No illegal drugs. No smoking or vaping inside cabin or the bathroom/hospitality room.

Our backyard might be the most serene you've ever been to! Eight acres of meadow and forest, surrounded by orchards, fields, and the roaring White Salmon River is the getaway that surrounds you with nature but has the comforts of home. The four lodging sites include 3 glamping tents and 1 gravel parking area with hookups for an RV or trailer (20' or less). To enhance everyone's comfort level, we have two plumbed restroom buildings and an outdoor kitchen. There is a large meadow with lawn games and two propane fire pits - and of course, heckling the rafters and kayakers from the riverbank is probably the best entertainment! They love waving and yelling "helllooooo" back! The property is only 15 minutes from Hood River (to the south) and about 25 from Trout Lake (to the north). Outdoor activities are endless in the Columbia Gorge - we have two superior rafting companies located nearby that can take you on a white water excursion down the White Salmon, and if wine is your thing, there are multiple opportunities for local tastings and tours. Waterfalls are abundant in this area and there are a ton of hikes to see them, ranging from easy to difficult. Many of our guests comment on how peaceful it is here and that they've never slept better - so, in order to keep this space as relaxing as possible, I do not allow children unless all three tents are rented by the same party. Children are allowed if staying in an RV or trailer that is hard-sided (ie, nobody will hear the tantrums - whether it's from a child or their parent!) Unfortunately, I do not allow pets. I'm sorry!!! We have 5 of our own who live onsite and I don't want to risk any unwelcome interactions. Our cats (Daisy, Marabelle, and Baby Meow Meow) are friendly and social, so if you have allergies, please just be aware that they might come up to you for a quick visit! We also have two young dogs (Blue who is Husky/Black Lab and Rooster who is Corgie/Blue Heeler). I try to keep the dogs at our house when we have guests but should they come down to the meadow, just know that much like the cats, they are super friendly and love to hang out. While we are located on the river, I do not allow put-ins or dips from our property due to liability - the current is quite strong and the water is glacier-cold. There is a kayak/raft drop-in at BZ Corners, a quick 3 mile drive up the road from us, or at Northwestern Park which is just down the road from us, and there are swimming holes all over the Gorge (just not right here!) Please do not venture past the rock divider at the edge of the riverbank, as doing so could subject you to poison oak that lives along the river's edge. If you want to try your hand at fishing, there is a small trail that leads down to the water's edge near the River House - just beware of the poison oak. Our propane fire pits are communal - one is located next to the kitchen, and one is next to the river. Both have igniters, just read the directions for lighting. We do not allow individual fire pits, nor wood-burning fires due to the county-wide burn ban that is in effect every summer. Our kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, coffee maker, Keurig, electric skillet, 3 propane skillets and a grill, blender, cooking utensils, sink with running water, breakfast table, and extra seating. If you're bringing substantial amounts of food/beverage, you should bring a cooler, as space in the fridge is limited. All food will need to be kept either in the refrigerator bins, or in your own cooler or bin that animals can't get into. I do not provide food products such as coffee, creamer, seasonings, oils, butter, etc - basically anything that could spoil. I do provide a limited number of k-cups for the Keurig, in case you just want a quick (if not that great) cup of coffee in the morning (please limit your use to 2 per person). I offer a 15% discount when all three tents are rented by the same party, so just send me a message if you're interested in bringing friends. I'm also open to hosting small weddings/events of 50 or less - we host our own events here every summer and it's been a hit so I'm offering it up to others as well. The Snowden Yurt

The Snowden Yurt was built by Tova's uncle Kirk and originally used as a backcountry ski destination in the Sawtooth Mountains near Stanley, Idaho. It is built completely by hand, similar to the traditional Mongolian style, with hand-hewn rafters, hand-made door, and hand-stitched fabric.
