We are a one hundred year old family owned farm with an organic garden, Permaculture garden, an apiary, and Christmas trees on six acres. We have Horseshoes, Tether ball, Disk Golf, Corn Hole and a small library for you to enjoy. Early spring the frogs go crazy later followed by the sounds of nesting birds. Fall is the season for migrating birds that rest at the ponds next door. August is the time to fill up on blackberries. There are individual campsites with a barbecue and picnic table and a shared fire pit. The fire pit didn't see much use last two years because of the fire danger so we have moved it to an open area that will be safer and hopefully be open longer, there is also an area at each campsite if you want to bring a propane fire ring (or we will have some for rent). You can star gaze from the fields and the major constellations can be seen on a dark night. We are becoming increasingly suburban and there is some road noise that can be heard and even with farms on three sides of us, you still might hear our neighbors in the distance. Campsites one and four are across the road from each other and campsites two and three are adjacent to each other, perfect if you have another family traveling with you. The Washington State Fair is 3.9 miles/ 13 minutes away, Tacoma Dome 7.5 miles/ 18 minutes, Point Defiance Park Zoo and Aquarium 19 miles/ 30 minutes and Wild Waves water park is 15 miles/ 26 minutes away. There is a gallery of wild life photography taken on the farm displayed in the outhouse. Eagles, hawks and Ospreys are frequent visitors to our property.

Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. This special place has sweeping views, including a stunning shot of Mount Rainier on clear days. Surrounded by forested land including a park preserve, the land is usually quiet and fairly private. A great place to watch birds, access multiple park trails by foot, or just enjoy being outside in nature. If you plan to bring a dog, do check which trails do and don't allow four-footed friends. There are old fruit trees on the land that give plentiful fruit (most years) starting in August, and depending on the time of year you'll also find blackberries, huckleberries and salal berries. (Do watch for sporadic spots of poison oak but they are few and far between.) Plenty of spots to set up tents, as well as two van-designated camping spots separate and not in eye-shot from tent-camping meadow. Serving all is an outdoor/covered low-tech compost toilet tucked into the trees a couple minutes walk from the meadow. There is also a spigot near the parking area with hose where you can rinse off dishes, gear etc. If you'd like to drink this water, we recommend filtering it first. A public swimming hole on Lake Florence is a short drive away, along with beaches. Check back with us in the future as well, because we have big plans for additional amenities.

This property is a large RV site with 2 separate hookups directly across the street from Mayo Cove Inlet, 1 mile from Penrose State Park, 3 miles from Joemma State Park, and less than a mile from Bay Lake. Across the street from the RV site is access to Mayo Cove Inlet where you can easily drop your kayak or paddle board into the water. (Know Lakebay Marina is currently not open). There is still access to the water! It's only a short paddle out before you will have a stunning, unobstructed view of Mt Rainier. This campground is located within Maury Island Marine Park, on the east side of Maury Island, a peninsula of Vashon Island. One of the largest undeveloped properties located directly on Puget Sound with more than 1 mile of shoreline, the park provides stunning views of the East Passage, Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountains. The site had significance for early Native Americans and is referenced in a legend about Snake People who arrived from the mainland as part of war party.
The park contains rare stands of Pacific Madrone, a salt marsh, eelgrass beds and significant fish and wildlife habitat for such species as great blue herons, bald eagles, kingfishers, chinook salmon, orca, and bull trout.
Trail length within the park: 3 miles (plus .75 mile gravel maintenance road to the shoreline accessible to non-motorized vehicles only).

The place has been farmland since about 1926. It became a family horse property with three pastures and now is a small lavender and blackberry farm. While it is limited to two RV sites, there may be farm visitors walking around the area. Tall cedars and fir remain in the back of the property and provide for a forest experience. It is not a commercial campground. We are now turning it into a small lavender farm. About half of the original pasture is now covered in black ground mat and 3,000 newly planted lavender.

You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful!

There is no outdoor music at any time. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 10 am.
There is no picnic table or any amenities, but you can fill up water at our barn if needed.

The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

Or, skip renting the watercraft's and just have fun fishing and swimming from the dock.
Many water birds and other birds call this home. You may spot a great blue heron or crane as they stretch their wings for several minutes soaking up the sun. Or you may see,
Osprey and Bald Eagles soaring overhead before they dive into the lake to swoop up a fish for their next meal.
The lake is stocked every May. The fishing is good here and the lake has a reputation for being especially great for Large Mouth Bass fishing. If you love to fish, then bring your fishing gear and license. A worm farm near the beach will supply your worms for free.
Relax in the evening in front of the campfire at your campsite. Use the barbecue grill at your campsite to prepare a delicious bbq picnic to enjoy at the beachfront, while you have a day of fun swimming and fishing.
End your fun day with a fun evening by making a bon fire on the beach and letting the kids make their own “some-mores” for dessert.
Motorboats aren’t permitted on this lake, so it’s always serene and peaceful.
No lifeguards on duty here. Swim at your own risk. Guests must abide by the lake safety rules.

Allison and Brian are creating an oasis with a lot of attention to details. It is a beautiful property that is close to many activities in the area.
We attended an event in Tacoma for a day and it was an easy trip.
Communication was easy and quick.
We recommend staying at least a few days. Besides lots of things to do close by, staying at the campsite was so relaxing! You do not want to miss out on the beautiful sauna, the comfortable lounge area or taking a stroll in their small, but magical forest.
We highly recommend staying with Allison and Brian!

Would definitely stay here again and absolutely recommend it if you’re planning to stay on Vashon Island and want a fabulous destination with epic views to stay and relax. Alison & Brian are caring and considerate hosts. Their new hipcamp offers very clean facilities on a beautiful property. While they’re still working on developing their campsites and hipcamp offering, I would only expect people’s experiences to improve over time. It’s obvious how much they care. For sauna lovers, the sauna is great and gets plenty hot. The cold plunge tubs are refreshing. The shower has hot water and great pressure. It’s quiet at night. Two big towns within 15 minutes, and yet it feels more like a remote or country destination.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campsite! Since it’s their first year in operation, the hosts are still fine-tuning things and are very welcoming of feedback. The amenities were a major highlight—the sauna and cold plunge were absolutely delightful. While there is only one communal firepit and picnic table for the whole camp, it ended up being a wonderful way to meet fellow campers. They even had all the firewood, kindling, and fire starters thoughtfully prepped and ready to go. A quick tip for future guests: because the campground is still being established, the actual tent areas are very dirt-heavy. I highly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and socks rather than sandals around camp. However, the upper common area with the sauna, firepit, and picnic table is grassy and relaxing. Also, the individual campsites aren't numbered yet, so it took us a minute to figure out exactly where to pitch our tent. Overall, it’s a great location, and I'm sure it will only continue to get better with time!

We loved our stay! John was there at the start of our trip to give us a tour of the property.
The play structure is solid, has something for most kids, but is definitely high! Our 2 and 7 year old loved it, but some supervision was needed to make sure our 2 year old stayed safe.
The bathroom was squeaky clean and the outdoor shower lovely.
Bring mosquito spray, there are quite a few mozzies out there at the moment.
We loved going to the beach and did a little hike close by. Key has a cute coffee shop (the Mustard Seed) and a well stocked grocery store. The campsite has tables with parasols and chairs, comfy chairs with pillows for when you are supervising the playground, a picnic table and benches, running water at a sink to do your dishes and a big table made out of sheet metal to place your cooking gear on.
The camping spots were shaded and spacious. All in all we loved it very much. There is also a little walk to do at the property. Highly recommend this for families with kids, lots of space to kick a ball around, play on the playground, make a campfire and after an outdoor shower tuck your tired out kiddos into the tent in the shady tent areas, than hang out for the stars to come out (and hear the coyotes howl)! Excellent choice for our family!

We had an incredible stay! If you’re looking for privacy, unbeatable views, and a family-friendly spot, this is it. The big meadow made the whole space feel massive and gave our toddler plenty of safe room to play and explore. Anderson Island was fun to explore with lots of parks and exploration opportunities. Plus the majestic views of Mount Rainier in such a quiet, open setting was the cherry on top. Highly recommended for families!

A great place to camp! Super close to the city yet far enough away to see the stars. The sauna and cold plunge were a nice added touch. They seem to be working on making campsites a little more defined but you can see how once it all fills in the place will be even better.

Steven was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. His talent as a metal artist is evident throughout the property, with unique pieces that add so much character and make the space feel truly one of a kind.
The full hookups were convenient, the site was easy to find, and was peaceful and quiet overnight. Being near the water meant there was a wonderful breeze, making for a comfortable night's sleep in the van.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxing, unique place to stay!

We had such a lovely stay here! We did a beginner's bikecamping trip to Vashon, and this place was perfect. The location can't be beat; we biked in from the ferry, grabbed lunch at the farmer's market, and rolled over to the farm. It was lovely and peaceful, with a gorgeous backdrop of flowers and trees.
We had 12 people so we booked 2 sites, but everyone fit in site 3, it worked out nicely.
The outdoor kitchen was clutch, and the portapotty was clean. We would 100% stay here again!

As I stated last year, this was a beautiful spot that was close to everything and remote enough to be very peaceful and relaxing. Bettye Anne communicated well and the instructions were easy to follow. We will likely return again if we are in the area next year.
