The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & ; family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). There is a “en suite kitchen in the cottage that has a small fridge, microwave, and two burner stovetop cooking unit.
The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --are all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin.
The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. our vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Even with all the little enclave of buildings, The Purple Cottage retains a private feel all to itself, with reliable Wi-Fi available at the cottage. . It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. The private deck off the side of the Purple Cottage offers views of the gardens & flora, and has a little gas barbecue. There is also a delightful hot tub on the deck, which is a wonderful feature. An outdoor kitchen on the edge of the woods allows a roomier “camp cooking” experience with Colman stove & cold running water (season permitting).
We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town!
The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle!

Tucked into the fully fenced and forested quarter of our lot, once parked and past the gate you'll feel as though you've entered the best camping spot in the entire campground - only thing is, you've got the whole place to yourself. Our aim was to create the best of camping without any of the pain that usually accompanies it. No packing up the camper, trailer hookups, towing on wild highways, backing up and parking, loud neighbors but instead... complete privacy, a fully outfitted camper with all the interior amenities you could dream of (think fully equipped kitchen, games, books, bedding, toilet paper - we've got it all) a propane fire pit, already chopped firewood for the WOOD FIRE HOT TUB under the stars, a solar outdoor shower to rinse yourself off, a large curved deck with a table and chairs. Depending on the season you may even find a fridge stocked with farm fresh eggs.
The property that the campsite is located on is also fully gated so you won't have to worry about security and your privacy. Unless you need something you'll be fully left alone and safe.
PLEASE note that Vintage Camping Trailers are petite. The walking path from the front to the back of the trailer is narrow. The bed is a FULL size mattress. That being said, we did spring for a very tall mattress so once you're in the bed you will be as comfy as possible. This camping experience is best for those who are also petite. Tall travelers may find the height of the inside shower and the entire camper a bit cramped. Additionally, the bed can most definitely fit two sleepers but please ensure you comfortably fit on a full size mattress before you commit. Remember, the spirit of this stay is luxury camping, but it's still camping.

Welcome to our passion project, a completely restored and preserved '77 Airstream Argosy. Tucked in a forested corner of our plot, only 3/4 mile from downtown Sequim you'll get the BEST of camping without any of the worsts of camping. Spend evenings in the wood fire hot tub under the stars and slip into 100% cotton sheets on an oversized camper mattress & French Flax bedding.
Tucked into the fully fenced and forested quarter of our lot, once parked and past the gate you'll feel as though you've entered the best camping spot in the entire campground - only thing is, you've got the whole place to yourself. Our aim was to create the best of camping without any of the pain that usually accompanies it. No packing up the camper, trailer hookups, towing on wild highways, backing up and parking, loud neighbors but instead... complete privacy, a fully outfitted camper with all the interior amenities you could dream of (think fully equipped kitchen, games, books, bedding, toilet paper - we've got it all) a propane fire pit, already chopped firewood for the WOOD FIRE HOT TUB under the stars, a solar outdoor shower to rinse yourself off, a large curved deck with a table and chairs. Depending on the season you may even find a fridge stocked with farm fresh eggs.
The property that the campsite is located on is also fully gated so you won't have to worry about security and your privacy. Unless you need something you'll be fully left alone and safe.
PLEASE note that Vintage Camping Trailers are petite. The walking path from the front to the back of the trailer is narrow. The bed is a FULL size mattress. That being said, we did spring for a very tall mattress so once you're in the bed you will be as comfy as possible. This camping experience is best for those who are also petite. Tall travelers may find the height of the inside shower and the entire camper a bit cramped. Additionally, the bed can most definitely fit two sleepers but please ensure you comfortably fit on a full size mattress before you commit. Remember, the spirit of this stay is luxury camping, but it's still camping.

Our cozy trailer is located on our large city property in old town Lake Stevens within a 5 min walk to the lake which boast 5 public parks with paddle boards for rent. We are a 5 minute walk to 3 restaurants and small grocery and a 1 min bike ride to the 30 mile paved centennial trail. We also have frisbee golf park and playground across the street. We are located on the back side of Old town Lake stevens and a 10 minute drive to the Gateway town of the Olympic national forest with Hundreds of hiking trails and a beautiful scenic 3 hour drive that is call Mt. Loop Hwy and goes through the off grid town of Silverton, has access to the gate of the old town of Monte Cristo and drives all the way through on gravel from there to the town of Darington and loops back to us.

This may be the best place we've stayed at. Jackie is an incredibly thoughtful host with excellent communication. The tent was clean and absolutely perfect. I was very pleased that she used non toxic products. The property is beautiful, the hot tub beside our tent was amazing, the pool was super cool and we had everything we needed for the best stay. She even shared s'mores kits with us for the fire. Jackie really thought of everything!!
This is definitely a hidden gem! Will be booking again super soon! This time we will bring the kids. :)

Weekend Trip to Sundara West
I had the pleasure of staying in the glamping tent with my husband for our honeymoon. Our experience was everything we wished for and more. The tent was a perfect mix of cozy and romantic, with a king sized bed, heated mattress pads, and a gas fireplace. The tent is situated on a deck with a beautiful set up in front for sipping coffee in the morning or wine in the evenings. The gas grill made it easy to prepare a hot breakfast. The most exceptional touches were the private hot tub and shower behind the tent, and of course, the pool house which provided a tropical oasis in the quiet countryside. There were other guests staying in the cottage but we were able to smoothly coordinate pool times with Jackie so we could enjoy our vacation in solitude. Last but not least, our host, Jackie, was absolutely wonderful and one of the most responsive hosts I’ve worked with. It’s clear to see how much care and detail she puts into making each stay perfect. Like other reviewers have mentioned, Sundara West is now top of the list of places I will gladly return to.

The yurt and nature spa were absolutely fantastic. My sister and I spent two nights at Kaitlyn’s place. The yurt was so cozy and the mattress was the perfect firmness. The nature spa was so relaxing. We appreciated that we could use the spa throughout our stay and spent the first night in the hot tub stargazing. Kaitlyn recommended a hike for us to do which was lovely - we then came back to the spa all set up for an elemental circuit including a clay mask and seaweed. We felt so good afterwards! Kaitlyn was so kind and welcoming, would stay here again!

The place is EPIC. Comfy, welcoming, brimming with awesome art, and memories all over. It felt like we were walking into such a thoughtful space, which was only exemplified by the kindness of appliances, access, and bits and bobs which made our stay even more wonderful.
Sarah was kind, responded promptly, and was very conscious about our space and time whilst we were at the property.
The hot tub was clean, warm, and ready to use. The bathroom which is right next door to where we slept was well stocked and the shower was great!
Myself and my partner loved every minute and we will likely be back at some point! Thank you for creating such a unique spot on the island! I cant recommend this place enough!

Daisy is exactly as promised: clean, cute, compact. The wood-fired hottub was a fun treat, and the deck with the propane fire table and grill made a comfortable place to set and enjoy the evening air. Chelsea and Jesse were available by chatting, but we had the area with the camper to ourselves (save the occasional Siamese cat strolling by).
The lot backs up against a quiet rural road, so there are occasional cars and bikes passing. By Airbnb or Vrbo standards, it's downright silent, but worth mentioning for a Hipcamp. There's also a gap in the fence that allows a peekaboo view of the wood stove from the main house. Totally understandable from a fire safety perspective, but set your modesty expectations appropriately when crossing from the trailer to the hot tub.

Celebrated our 24th Wedding Anniversary in the Glamping tent. The property is beautiful with lovely well-tended gardens and the tent is private and peaceful. Our host, Jackie, was responsive and gracious. There is a pool here inside a solarium adjacent to the tent that is just fantastic. We were able to reserve private time slots so had the pool to ourselves as much as we wanted. Out the back of the tent is a private outdoor shower and a hot tub. We enjoyed our little getaway so much and definitely plan to return. Thank you Jackie for sharing your camp with us!

Tips for snagging a campsite
- You can reserve all of the park’s 172 tent sites, 134 partial-hookup sites, and five hiker/biker sites online.
- Deception Pass is a popular state park. Reservations should be made in advance, especially for summer weekends. All campsites can be reserved online, up to nine months in advance of the arrival date.
- The Ben Ure Cabin on Ben Ure Island is accessible only by kayak or rowboat, and guests must bring their own water.
When to go
Deception Pass State Park is open year-round. In the Coastal Northwest’s relatively mild climate, there’s never a bad time to visit. Summers, especially on weekends and holidays, are very busy here. But come in the shoulder season—in the spring or early summer, before July 4—or early fall, after Memorial Day, and you’re more likely to find seclusion. Weekdays are generally a better bet, too.
Know before you go
- You can rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards at the Bowman Bay concession stand from April through September.
- Visitors will need to display a day-use or annual Discover Pass. The park has automated pay stations dispensing both, along with boat launch permits.
- The park has 1.2 miles of ADA hiking trails, in addition to three miles of bike trails, six miles of horse trails, and 38 miles of hiking trails.
