We are open! This magical, 40-acre, cultivated ecosystem, will wrap around you and leave you enchanted. Enjoy this peaceful, country retreat, as a place to rest and reconnect with the earth and yourself. This is a great place to stop for the night, but one day might not be enough to meander the many paths, drink tea harvested from the herb garden, sit on a bench talking to ancient Maple trees, walk the stone labyrinth, wander the sacred Grove, and camp under the stars. There's so much to enjoy here, from the fragrant rose gardens to the orchards and sheep meadows. Spend the morning sipping tea with a book in the greenhouse, an afternoon wandering the many wooded trails, preparing dinner with vegetables grown from the garden, and enjoying the evening watching the moon and stars come up from the observatory platform. You could take a guided tour of the land and animals, or join one of the many workshops hosted here, such as learning to spin yarn from our herd of Icelandic sheep or take an introduction class to Permaculture. Bring your knitting, friends, or just a favorite book, and spend a few days in this tranquil destination, as this land has something to offer everyone. Please NOTE: This is a working farm, we have animals, dirt, sticks, bugs, poop, and lots of opportunities to "connect" with Nature. All of our amenities are shared spaces, designed to foster community. You will find signs posted around the property with clear communication. All of our lodgings are off-grid with no electricity or running water. Water, electricity, and WIFI are available in the shared kitchen, garden, cafe, and lounging areas. Please bring battery-operated lights, bedding, and a pillow, unless otherwise noted. Amenities include: shower house, bathhouse, large semi-commercial kitchen, library, cafe, fiber studio, yarn shop, plenty of outdoor seating, safe potable water, 2 regularly maintained portable toilets, hand washing station, 2 charcoal/wood barbeques Check-in is 4-8 pm Contact us to inquire about using the land for weddings, retreats, and other gatherings! Chuckanut Mountain Forest Retreat

6. Chuckanut Mountain Forest Retreat

Bellingham, WA · 1 site
Located on Chuckanut Drive, this secluded off-grid cabin offers a rare combination of forest solitude and ocean proximity. A short 5-minute walk uphill leads you into a quiet forested sanctuary on 20 acres of private land. Experience being completely immersed in nature, yet just across the road from the beach and steps away from the interurban trail system that gives access to miles of exploring and trails. Inside the cabin you will find a warm, cozy space designed for rest and simplicity. This is an off-grid cabin that requires a peaceful 5-minute walk uphill through a private forest. We recommend that guests pack their belongings in backpacks to ensure an easeful experience. Off-grid means that there is minimal electricity and no running water. There is an overhead light and a charging port for cell phones. There is fresh filtered spring water from the land for drinking that has been tested and is exceptional. We are delighted to offer this gift from the land. There is a double burner stove-top with a complementary tea, coffee, and miso soup station. You are welcome to bring other varieties of soup. We ask guests not to cook anything else in this space. We provide restaurant and trail recommendations in our welcome binder in the cabin. There is an outhouse with a composting toilet for use. There is hand sanitizer wipes available for hand washing. Need a shower? Larabee State park is located 1 min away by car and there are public showers for use. Or rinse off in ocean! We want the expectations of the experience to be very clear so that guests know what to expect. This is an incredible sanctuary and we strive for simplicity. You have full-use of the cabin and are free to explore the forest. You are welcome to use the interurban trail which allows for hiking, biking, and walking down to the beach. Follow the trail 1.5 miles down to Clayton Beach OR access Wildcat Cove across the street (we recommend driving there). Access Fragrance Lake Trail from the interurban trail about .5 miles away. We are immersed amongst incredible trails on the Chuckanut Mountain. Mountain bike? We are smack dab in the middle of mountain bike heaven. We are also located 7 minutes from downtown Fairhaven where you can enjoy phenomenal food and shopping.

Arlington, WA · 5 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging
Nestled near Arlington, our 75-acre property spans both new and old forest, featuring a salmon-filled creek and a large beaver pond—all set against the dramatic backdrop of a 1,200-foot sheer rocky cliff crowned with old-growth trees. Since its purchase in 1958 as a family retreat, this land has grown into much more than a getaway. It has become a place for relaxation, adventure, and connection with nature—a private forest for family and friends to enjoy. Over the years, the family has adopted forest stewardship and sustainable timber harvesting practices, while also developing campsites, trails, hosting rock concerts, and even producing wine. What began as a simple escape has evolved into something extraordinary: a tree farm that successfully balances nearly every goal a forest landowner could imagine—timber production, wildlife habitat, natural beauty, recreation, and forest resilience. Valhalla embodies all of this with harmony. We think you will feel the unusual vibe.

Port Angeles, WA · 18 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging
Just outside of Port Angeles, and nestled right on the Strait of Juan De Fuca is Whiskey Creek Beach NW. This is a family owned and operated property, with northwest history and a rustic setting that will take any guest back to a simpler time. Now owned by the Pinson Family, this land was originally purchased by the Schmitt Family nearly a century ago in the small town of Joyce, Washington, back when fishing was the only draw to this beautiful landscape. There is access to a private boat ramp, seaside privacy, and it is surrounded by beautiful trees. Hand built rustic cabins line the coastline. Each has it's own unique name. Folks have been escaping to Whiskey Creek Beach for generations as a way to unplug from the hustle and bustle of todays busy lifestyle. With names like "Halibut Hole," "Codfish Cottage," and "Captain's Quarters," the charm is undeniable. The waves crashing over a pebble beach lull you to sleep, and the salt in the air wakes you in the morning. A private boat launch is very difficult to find anywhere on the sound. The boat launch at Whiskey Creek Beach is the only one between Fresh Water Bay and Sekiu. Whiskey Creek Beach is a place you really must experience it in person. In a busy world, full of demands and obligations, it is rare to find a place so close that feels so far away. This truly is PNW living at it's finest.
