Weekend Trip to Grace E.’s Mini Forest Cabins

The camp site was very nice and clean, the cabin was clean and comfortable and kept pretty warm at night. When it god colder the propane heater worked great. The host was very gracious, she showed us around and showed us how to use the heater. No one bothered us our whole trip and the host was available if we needed anything. We went to town on our second day and picked up things we forgot, the local IGA had everything we needed. My Subaru forester made it up the big hill just fine, just like she says don’t hesitate but 4 wheel drive helped a lot. Would definitely stay here again!

1 night at Grace E.’s Mini Forest Cabins

I cannot begin to recommend this Hipcamp enough. We recently stayed in Cabin 1 and were completely satisfied with both the cabin and the surrounding property. The camp host was very helpful in showing us around, making sure questions were answered and even a last-minute adjustment. The area around the property is packed with all kinds of outdoor activities all within short driving distance. Great dog property to burn off excess energy and not have to worry about any side-eye from the neighbors. We will absolutely be returning to this site again in the future. Thank you very much Grace for welcoming us to your beautiful campsite. See you again soon.

The Simple Roots Ranch Potting Shed was very quaint and situated within a lush garden. Both Sharon and Dave were very accommodating to my kids and I during our 2 night stay. We enjoyed fresh berries from the garden, strolled through the wooded trails, and generally enjoyed the well tended grounds. A beautiful stay.

Great place. Everything at The Potting Shed was as advertised. The garden and grounds are lovely, there are sweet, thoughtful touches throughout the space that add to the experience. Dave was especially accommodating of my two kiddos. Highly recommend.

What a cute place! We needed off grid and we got it. One thing I recommend if you're over 30 is to bring extra padding for the bed - They are thin which does not work for my old hips LOL - otherwise the place was great and we will go back. Grounds were awesome, my pups could run around with no issues, there are trails all over, wild life, etc.

This is a magical spot - my teen daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The weather was a tad damp, which hindered our exploring a bit of the property and gardens, but the accommodations were really comfortable and the small touches and details very appreciated. Outdoor seating under cover was really lovely in the morning and the kitchen is well appointed with basics (coffee!! Thank you!!) The property was quiet with only occasional street noise and lots of bird activity to watch. Strawberries were in full fruit and so delicious. Really enjoyed talking with Dave - great hosts. This is a gem. Thank you for the memories!

Weekend Trip to Grace E.’s Mini Forest Cabins

The cabin was cozy, clean and warm. We slept great. We came on our bikes. Grace and Brian were fantastic hosts - hospitable, generous and kind. They provided us with a place to charge our batteries and Brian took us up to our cabin and drove us back to the trailhead in his truck. He built three small cabins there with battery lanterns, fire pits, tables and a very clean outhouse.

The A-frame cabin is exactly as described and was a cozy place to spend a summers evening. I almost wanted it to get cold to use the wood burning stove! The land around the cabin is also a real treat, lots of trails, additional campsites, and an interesting history of the property to take in.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

Where to begin? This property and camp site were absolutely incredibly. Perfectly tucked away into a beautiful moss covered forest. All we could hear all weekend were the sounds of the birds. It was so peaceful! The cabin comfortable housed two adults and two small kids (we used a pack n play and a kids air mattress). The potable water, outhouse, heated outside shower and propane burner inside the cabin made the experience so nice! No need to pack a ton of water or propane bottles for cooking!! The perfect site for a group of people. We explored many of the hikes that Dave included in his informational packet. Everyone had a magical time and we can't wait to return!

We loved our stay at Simple Roots Ranch, with the cozy tiny home (the potting shed), fresh strawberries and flowers in abundance. I especially loved the soak in the outdoor tub with lavender bath salts provided, the trails through their old growth forest and the warm hospitality of the hosts!

I had a lovely stay here! This place is full of whimsy and had everything I needed to be comfortable. I appreciated the clear instructions on using the amenities, suggestions on exploring the nearby area, and various forms of entertainment - books, games, crayons, etc. Cassi was a thoughtful host and even had a friend clean the cabin since they had a cold and didn't want to risk spreading germs. The bed and pillows were also super comfortable! I would absolutely stay here again.

Solo trip with my dog was lovely! We lucked out and were the only ones there so pup had free rein to roam the huge fenced in property without begging for scraps from the neighboring campers. He had the time of his life! Note: if you have a tiny dog there are a few places they could fit through the fence. My dog is on the bigger end of small dog size, and he could not get through anywhere. Cabins are nicely spaced apart & there are outhouses on the property. This would be great for groups of friends to rent out all the cabins. Grace is friendly and warm and will meet you outside her house, then drive up in front of you to show you to your cabin and a few ins and outs. The camping property feels private (you’re not in someone’s backyard staring at their house). All cabins have propane heating! I stayed in Cabin 2, there’s no electricity, but it had two lanterns hanging from the beam, and a puck light on a shelf. The futon folds out to a full size mattress, and there’s a small, lidded garbage bin in the room, and a larger one out by the picnic table. Windows have screens. If you’re planning on leaving the property during your stay, just message Grace through the app and she’ll open the gate. Perfect weekend getaway and would definitely book again.

i absolutely loved it here! it was such a beautiful place with way more than i could’ve asked for, definitely packed more than i needed as this place comes with everything you could need, cleaning supplies, pots/pans, utensils, cups/bowls/plates, the whole 9 yards. it was a beautiful secluded place with a GORGEOUS view and the prettiest sunsets, there’s also lots of trails & ponds/rivers nearby at the campground and not too far of a drive away from gas stations/grocery stores/fast food places so you don’t have to feel stuck in the cabin, david was amazing and communicated greatly with me and was a huge help with any questions i had. so thank you david for such an amazing place and a great stay!

The space This space is my home and comes fully equipped with everything to make this stay feel like you are home away from home! Please enjoy TV that comes with the Roku and my subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. You'll find a fully stocked kitchen, a stove and refrigerator/freezer, toaster, kettle and French press coffee. Extra additions such as an Instant Pot, small blender, and popcorn maker are also available. The home includes: - 4 spacious bedrooms - An indoor dining space that comfortably seats 6 with leaves that can be added to be able to accommodate 10 people - and 2 additional seats in the kitchen bar area. - A large outdoor deck with a grill for BBQ, eucalyptus wood table and bench that seats 8 for outdoor entertainment - Expansive garden surrounded by forest and woodland trails to enjoy alone, in groups, or with your dog(s). - Outdoor hot-tub with mountain views lit with globe lights for ambience. - Yoga studio (which can be heated during the winter). - Your stay Includes bath towels, hot tub towels, robes, toiletries, etc. What you will find near Pentoria Lodge: - The log home is located on a hill close to the Skykomish River with a view of the mountains. - There are three towns located nearby. 1. Duvall is my personal favorite and is 20 minutes away to enjoy boutique shops, breweries, lunch spots, great dinner restaurants, ice cream, and a Safeway. 2. Monroe has everything you would need including restaurants, shops, hardware stores, pet stores, antique stores, and grocery stores. 3. Sultan is on the way to Stevens Pass ski resort and is much smaller but has a great bakery! Nearby activities include hiking, skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding. All the spots that I would recommend visiting can be found in the Welcome Guide upon your arrival. Important things to know: - Staying in this home means you are staying within nature. Deer are regularly around the property, or can be seen in the woods during your drive up. Please be respectful to them. There has been the occasional bear sighting, so please be aware. There is bear spray in the property, but I have only seen a bear twice and have been able to scare it away with a tap on the window! My space is surrounded by woods and forest, and though I treat the exterior to keep out pests, there are all sorts of creatures great and small, including insects and mice, which unfortunately can be a reality of nature for all the homes up on the hill. Please take into consideration that my home may not be a right fit for those who are extremely phobic of these and other wildlife, but for others, it can bring enjoyment. Please take a look at my house rules to familiarize yourself with the do's and dont's, especially if you will be using this space for a larger entertainment gathering. I love my home and I am so glad you may choose Pentoria Lodge as a place to retreat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Guest access There is enough space for 3 cars to park at the top of the driveway and next to the log cabin. Any other cars can fit down by the yoga studio and garage, but please note, the driveway is not for the faint of heart - it is steep! During the winter months you will need a 4-wheel drive to make it to the top of the driveway. When it gets icy, it is not recommend to drive the driveway, but parking at the bottom and walking up through the pasture is what I do to get home! There is an electronic lockbox for your convenience that will let you into the house with a special code that I will email to you once the property is booked and you are confirmed to be arriving. Your GPS may take you a slightly different route. I will email instructions on the easiest way to the lodge. There will also be signs to 'Pentoria Lodge' to follow for easier directions. Other things to note There are deer, squirrels, rabbits, owls, and other critters that may roam the property as the log home is surrounded by forest and is home to many creatures great and small. Some of the tiny ones may get into the house from time to time. Refunds cannot be granted because of a spider, fly, wasp, mouse, or any woodland critter. I strive to keep the property as thoroughly clean as possible with monthly pest control to mitigate the chances of seeing any creatures in the property and appreciate your full understanding should an insect or critter make a small appearance. Should this happen, please reach out to me asap and I will do anything I can to take care of it and to make your stay a 5 Star experience!

This property is supposedly one of the first homesteads in Jordan Road. This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then. The property is all fenced in, a place where your fur buddy can run free so you don't have to worry of the baby getting lost! Hopefully you'll get a visit from a deer and hear the hooting of the owl. :) You are welcome to check out our goats too if you want (they're in their enclosed space). The surroundings are peaceful and private, you will enjoy exploring the trails all around the 9 acres out of 12 we are sharing. Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.

Anything done or added to the land and setting was by our hand. Including the few small clearings of selectively cut trees to hand pouring and hauling water for mixing cement via our backs. We sure do hope we are doing her right! our plan? to leave as much untouched as possible. The property is made up of over 5 acres and is heavily treed with Grand Firs, large Western Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Doug Fir, and many other native shrubs including edible berries such as huckleberry, salal berry, salmon berry. Micologists (mushroom hunters) are sure to find the treasure they seek growing fruitfully in these forests. Come forest bathe (literally) in our private charcoal fired soaking tubs. Self serve wooden tubs powered via flame come to temp in 2-3 hrs with proper tending. Camp 9Mile-Marrowstone is an off grid nature experience. Neighbors live symbiotically with the land, many are without electricity or city water as guests will experience as well. Stop by our seasonal farmstand located along driveway in the. Forgot something? we got you! Firewood, Charcoal, Butane, Propane, S'mores Kits, 9 Mile Merch etc all on offer inside a '71 VW BUS, Cruise by the "town" of Nordland which proudly boasts the iconic Nordland General Store, a definite nostalgic fun stop. If you have time park and take a stroll down the dock. Shower a day person? Fort Flaggler is your place (5 min. drive up the island-North) has full service public restrooms, complete with showers (bring some quarters) and flushing toilets, a wonderful trail system worth exploring and not a bad view of the straits including Port Townsend. If Laundry is something you find yourself needing, Port Hadlock has a fine one, situated next door to the QFC market. Throw in a load and head across the street to the "Valley Tav" for the best veggie burgers around! no joke.
