We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mountain views in the background. It's on the opposite side of the lake from the Cedar Sites. This site has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. It's a delicate site, so the accommodations and group size is strictly limited. Check out the reviews and extensive gallery for many options of this amazing property! Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Taskers Gap OHV/ATV park is a short drive south, and the valley is sandwiched between both forks of the Shenandoah River for those looking to paddle.

Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. If something is urgent you should be able to pick up WiFi near the tenant house and a password can be provided for you to try.

My friend and I brought our pups up here for a night and can’t recommend it enough. The site is private, close to a few wineries/breweries, and has great views. Be sure to follow the 4WD guidance - we didn’t have to use it but I can see how rain a day or two before could make for an interesting drive up. The leaves this time of year also made it a bit slick. Overall, the campsite was exactly what we were hoping for and we’ll be back if camping in the area again!

Weekend Trip to The Bluffs at Cedar Creek

A group of four of us stayed at this campsite over the past weekend and had such a wonderful experience! The entire area was clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The porta-potties were pretty clean, and there were a good number of them stationed out by the front. Firewood was delivered to us by Levi's daughter which was a nice touch. When she wasn't around, we could easily grab a crate of firewood ourselves near the front and pay by Venmo or cash. The firepit that we had at our campsite was great, tall and had great air flow holes at the bottom and a metal grate we could use for cooking. The provided picnic table was nice and very wide. The campsite felt peaceful when we were sitting by the fire at night. The river near our campsite had a good amount of activity with people coming to fish for trout (which the owner stocks with plenty) which means we didn't have complete privacy during the day. However, our campsite's overall atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy nature. I would absolutely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable outdoor escape. The location is perfect, only about an hour drive from Centreville, VA which makes the camping experience so much better we didn't have to drive far to experience some wonderful outdoors. Lots of sites to see in the area with hiking so we'll definitely be back to do more activities.

Perfect location for a family camping trip. Jen is a fantastic hostess with great communication ahead of time. In addition to camping, we got to help feed the animals both mornings and our kids were thrilled. Theres lots of room for them to run wild without worrying of bothering camping neighbors and the site had everything we needed.

This site is named after the wooden table it has bear claw marks on it from one of our local black bears who visit occasionally.

Graham's land was beautiful! The site was well maintained, flat and an even space for our truck camping. There was a nice picnic table at each site with a fire box and grate to cook on, all stocked with firewood and even kindling to get started. The river wraps around the sites with giant rocks and a steap forest incline opposite of the site. The hosts were incredibly kind and went far out of their way to help us out. The river was very refreshing (it froze last night) but we still enjoyed the semi polar plunge. It'll be a perfect summer spot with a sandy beach and great rocks to jump off into the water.

We tent-camped at Peaceful Pond for the second year in a row with my two sons (14 and 11) and our dog, and it was exactly the reset we needed. We’re from right outside DC, so the quiet out here felt almost unreal. Aside from the occasional cow mooing or dog barking , it was just us and the farm. The best part was the simple stuff: morning coffee by the pond, hanging around the fire, making s’mores, and having the kind of deeper conversations you only get when everyone’s finally off their screens. It’s the kind of place that slows you down without trying. Highly recommend for anyone looking for calm, space, and an easy, comfortable spot to camp.

This was my very first Hip Camp, and my first time camping alone! Butterfly Camp was perfect. I felt very safe and I had everything I needed and more! I met Jen at the Farm Store and she was kind enough to take the time to share some info on the farm and Shenandoah. There are very easy trails throughout the land to explore if you want to stay around camp. And of course you’ve got primo access to Shenandoah trails! I’ll definitely recommend this spot to friends.
