We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is also a VHS player and more than 40 movies available. There is no cable or WiFi access but most phones work here. Reception for T-Mobile is not so good

We had a wonderful time during our stay at this peaceful retreat. The hot tub, sauna, trails, and fire pit with homemade pizzas were absolutely amazing, and even better with the snowfall. It was a great place to stay and we would love to come back.

Camp in comfort in an enchanted forest! Enjoy the RV, 6-burner propane grill, lighting, and all that you see in the following photos!

Have a big group? There's plenty of room around the camper for tents. We also rent out tents, sleeping pads, etc.

Kathryn was a great hosts , their farm is amazing scenic , from the hiking trails , to the mushroom land , imagination station it was just phenomenal. We absolutely loved this property! Beautiful views, very quiet, CLEAN and peaceful there is a gorgeous lake a short walk from camp site 1. Juan has beautiful horses on his property and they are so peaceful to watch. Water and electric hook up worked great, and our class A fit great and site was level. This location is about 1 mile off the main road we easily navigated down the dirt compacted/gravel road no issues. Again extremely quiet, just nature. Just 14 minutes to downtown Culpeper, charming downtown area, lots of shops, and diners. Walmart, Target, Martins, Lidl, and Lowes are just a few more minutes down the road. Can not recommend this camp enough, you will not be disappointed!

The barn apartment sits tucked into the woods overlooking the main garden and farm store area.

The Butterfly campsite is just beautiful. Great mountain views and plenty of seating to enjoy them. Jennifer was a helpful host who made it a comfortable and easy stay - the tipi tent with air mattress made this feel extra special!

1 acre campsite has a bathhouse with flushing toilet, mini outdoor kitchen, solar outdoor shower, tent pad, table for 8, firepit with grill and horseshoe pit.

In addition to camping, we got to help feed the animals both mornings and our kids were thrilled. Had a great time!! It is a very special property and Jennifer was kind to show us the animals and tell us more about the history. The little cabin was comfortable and had all the basic cooking items we needed as well as plenty of water for dishes/handwashing! We enjoyed a complimentary wine tasting at a nearby winery that Jennifer gave us, but overall just hung out at the property and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Also, the outhouse is difficult to see if you arrive at night, but it is there, just a few feet off the trail by the solar lights :)

This was my very first Hip Camp, and my first time camping alone! Butterfly Camp was perfect. I felt very safe and I had everything I needed and more! I met Jen at the Farm Store and she was kind enough to take the time to share some info on the farm and Shenandoah. There are very easy trails throughout the land to explore if you want to stay around camp. And of course you’ve got primo access to Shenandoah trails! I’ll definitely recommend this spot to friends. We had such an amazing time at Gypsy Camp! We brought our 2-year-old son, and he absolutely loved every minute of it. Jen went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially for Halloween. We joined her evening spooky walk through the trails, and her entire setup afterward was incredible. She had soup, a charcuterie board, cupcakes, cookies, cider and the most delicious homemade juice! She even invited our son, Callan, to help feed the animals in the morning, which he absolutely loved. Jen truly puts so much thought and care into every detail. She also offers a variety of fun add-ons to make your weekend even more special. The camping spots are nice, well taken care of and very private which we loved because we weren’t sure how our 2 year old would do camping even though he ended up loving it. We highly recommend staying here! you won’t be disappointed!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! I communicated with Peggy through the HipCamp app, and she was very responsive and helpful. When we arrived, Tony met us at the parking area, showed us to the cabin, and took the time to explain how everything worked. He was incredibly kind, accommodating, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great experience. The cabin itself was spotless, rustic, and very cozy — exactly what we were hoping for. It has just the right amount of amenities: a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, running water, and just enough hot water for a quick shower. The outdoor shower was one of our favorite parts — it felt peaceful and refreshing every time we used it. Before our trip, we asked if there was a way to cook outside, and Tony went above and beyond. He actually built a wonderful fire pit setup designed for cooking, which we used every day. It was such a fun and memorable part of our stay, and Tony even provided all the firewood we could possibly need. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and surrounded by about one to two miles of lovely hiking trails. It was quiet, private, and felt like our own little hideaway in nature. Tony gave us plenty of space while still being available if we needed anything. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a cozy, peaceful escape!

All that you see is included! Plenty of comfortable seating, two hammocks, firewood at the site (purchase on the honor system), propane grill (propane included), and solar powered string lights.
