Continue past the Hay barn another half mile. Park on the left side of the gravel road along the tree line. Another 50ft you'll see a wood foot bridge across the creek. The sites are ahead, PawPaw is first, then Bloodroot Base Camp (bell tent), and lastly Cohosh Cove is the most private. Each site has a sign as well When driving, please be respectful of the right of way. Drive slowly and respect the farm equipment. Also please do not venture onto the neighbor’s property other than entry and exit. About the property 20 minutes from Blacksburg and 35 minutes from Roanoke, our campground gives you great access to the “Triple Crown” of the Appalachian trail, consisting of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. Conquer these iconic peaks of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains for spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness. Hikers should park at their campsite and walk up. The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room. The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s. We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants. 101 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by over 2 miles of cleared roads throughout the property, which are perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a very small creek, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature. Each of the 3 sites is hundreds of yards away from each other. Note: there is no bathroom on the premises, however you can book a toilet tent as an extra. 4 Wheel Drive or All wheel drive are helpful during the winter months if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice. Things to watch out for are deer ticks and poison ivy. Campers are expected to leave the site neat and take all their trash with them. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. Also, check out the Draper Mountain overlook on Rt 11, just 10 minutes from our HipCamp. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, Bigfoot sitings as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

rivers edge trail was beautiful! the site was clean, easy to find and the views were gorgeous. hookups were straight forward and full service, which we appreciated. there is a bit of junk around and there’s a house very close, so not private, but it looks like they’re still building the sites so we didn’t mind. we will definitely stay again!

The Rocky Knoll is a beautiful little spot with an amazing view! Easy to access with additional seating provided, a lovely fire pit, and a well leveled tent pad. My dogs and I had a great time and the hosts were amazing! My battery ended up dying in my car the second night and they quickly helped me resolve the issue. I can’t wait to go back when it gets warm again. Thank you both so much!

Weekend Trip to WindSong in the treetops/hot tub

Myself, boyfriend and two pups had the pleasure of staying at the Wind Song yurt this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have asked for anything better! The place was stunning, stocked for all needs and a great getaway. Jodee was great at communicating with any questions with incredible timing. Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.

I stayed at The Love Shack this weekend and had a wonderful experience. Wendy was a wonderful host—thoughtful, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to creating a beautiful space for her guests. She even cleared the leaves off the trail before I arrived, which made for such a lovely walk through the woods. I spotted a deer along the way which was nice. The A-frame shelter was cozy and warm. I enjoyed the most relaxing nap in the hammock. I highly recommend!

They have a lot of accommodations there that were nice to see for people that come less-prepared. the view is very nice and it is a nice cozy place! The "poop shed" is also, really nice. It's not just a port-a-john, they put proper care and attention into making it enjoyable to use! Will almost certainly be booking again in the future!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Campground at Seneca

Perfect spot to get away for the weekend. Private area but you can hear the campers at the other spots. You can hear the barking working dogs at night and the train but that wasn’t a big deal for us. Easy access to filter your water, plenty of firewood provide it which was nice since we stayed on a cold weekend. Plenty of hikes within a 30 min drive!

We had a great time at the love shack! It was perfectly cozy, and Wendy has done such a wonderful job creating an accommodative experience that really feels unique. The shack itself was more spacious than I expected, and the setting was beautiful, were very grateful that Wendy would share her beautiful land with the public! Our site had a great view of the river! The site was flat with easy access to power, water, and sewer. Arrival and departure were super easy. If arriving at night keep in mind that the site numbers are on the power posts and might not be within view of your headlights.
