We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. Wolftrap Farm was owned by James & Dolley Madison during their time, and they called it Black Meadow. Their home, Montpelier, is just across the mountains you see from the campsite. It passed through the hands of various local farmers during the 19th & 20th centuries, and for many years was a dairy farm. It became primarily a horse farm in the 1970's, when it was owned by the German Von Wulffen family.The Cuthrell family from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area acquired the farm in 2003 and converted it to a resort farm, featuring upscale vacation homes. The yurt is 15 mins from Mt Airy NC which is a destination for outdoors activities, wineries, breweries, and has a gorgeous downtown area. Fancy Gap is famous for the BRPW, hiking, mountain biking, and all types of outdoor activities. Mother Earth has a walk in shower, soaking tub, bluetooth music, wifi, and a hot tub. a full kitchen and washer and dryer. I provide all your paper products, coffees, creamer, sugar, shower products and more. it’s in a wooded area with nice views and wildlife in abundance. This yurt is comfortable all year long with a minisplit for heat and air conditioning, and a propane fireplace. This yurt has easy access and parking right in front. The deck is gated for toddlers and pets. Check out the secluded porch swing underneath. Our pet fee is an additional $25 left on the counter. Stargazing is at its best here, and lots of back roads to walk and explore. Check out Beamers Knob for a gorgeous long range view, about a mile from the yurt. It’s breathtaking! This yurt also has a generator to keep things going, in case of a power failure due to inclement weather.

Main floor sleeping arrangements are a bedroom with new memory foam queen bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing", with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements. There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. A small washer dryer is also available. Please note, these can accommodate only small loads of laundry. You'll find bath towels and smaller towels specifically for drying off after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We've stocked quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as some basic toiletries in case a guest forgets to bring an item. In the living room, the 55" TV streams Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV (you will need your own log in). The internet is provided by Starlink and is high speed! The queen bedroom also has a Roku TV, and a selection of board games, cards, and some children's activities are available below the TV. Tom’s camper was the perfect getaway on a long weekend for this single mama and two kiddos! It’s perfectly located between the region’s three state parks, with cozy beds, ample heat, plenty of towels and bedding, and all the kitchenware needed. The hot tub, hammock, and fire pit were perfect - the wood and snores supplies were a great touch! The outdoor tv/projection screen were super easy to figure out thanks to their excellent instructions. My kids can’t wait to come back!

My friend and I had a great time staying here! Mark was very hospitable and made things very easy for us. The area is stunning with the fall leaves. Other than some cows and a rooster far off on a different property, it was very quiet and peaceful the whole time. The bed was very soft, and the coffee Mark gave to us was the best I've had in awhile! Be sure to use smaller pieces of wood for the hot tub so it heats up faster. A relaxing and lovely time, highly recommend!

Darlene's land was a perfect hip camp. Usually my dogs and I hit the hay at nightfall, but Darlene's camp has an electric pole with a light, a screened tent with a table and chair, and an extra electric plug (recharge phones) - it was private and serene - plus Darlene was a FANTASTIC communicator, who meets you there to show you how the compostable toilet works, where to get firewood, etc. - then leaves you your privacy. Only a small disclaimer for travelers with dogs, IF you have a reactive dog (as one of mine is) there is quite a bit of wildlife noise in the woods. Highly recommend this hipcamp.

The tiny house has everything you would need. It was cute, quiet, and the hot tub was perfect for the chilly autumn nights. There’s a projector screen right by hot tub which made for some spooky vibes. And the cute fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. There’s also some trails to walk and we got to see some highland cows. Would definitely recommend! Thank you host

The Bee Hive was exactly what we were looking for! The yurt was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a little getaway! Thank you for hosting us!

One of the possible camp sites at the main campground. This is in the middle of the loop in the road at the end. There are other sites on either side and a trailer situated just below. There is a primitive camp shower and compost toilet available for campers. Please make sure you get instructions before using. or you can also rent the trailer for the perfect larger gathering. This bathhouse capacity is for only a few people so for larger groups you need to rent trailer or supply duty bags until I can get a portapotty in.

Our absolutely wonderful 10 Wedding Anniversary stay at Magical Riverside Yurt by JoDee, was the getaway we needed. Laid back, private, peaceful and amazingly well stocked with almost everything you'd ever want. The coffee bar was amazing. Sitting in the hot tub while looking at the billions of stars with the full Milky Way overhead was epic. Our first time staying in a Yurt was a pleasure. I had no idea it would be so comfortable and accommodating. JoDee has I think 5 different properties to choose from. Make sure to check out this well deserved Super Host.

Weekend Trip to Nicholson’s Wonder Forest

The wooded campsite, quiet seclusion, and natural beauty were wonderful! My family of two adults, two teens, and a dog had an amazing time. We hiked the property. And Mark and his family were fantastic hosts! They were responsive to all questions before we arrived and during our stay. They met us with an ATV, trailer, and wagon to transport our cooler and vast amount of equipment to our site. Mark shared a list of activities in the area. And Mark's family was very generous with their time during our stay. They gave us fishing tutorials, supplied the fishing equipment, and invited us to fish their well-stocked pond. Both my son and I caught our first fish! Mark gave us guidance on how to clean the fish and cook them up. They were delicious! Mark and his wife Emily also offered equipment that we had forgotten (e.g., oven mitts). Plus, the site had nice amenities for a family who likes true camping but also enjoys some extras. It had a lovely, large tent with a bed that sleeps two. We brought an additional 3/4-man tent that we erected. Although we brought our own cast iron pans, utensils, etc., Mark provided some of those too! Plus, there was an abundant supply of long roasting forks (for hotdogs, s'mores). The firepit was lovely, and Mark provided plenty of firewood. The toilet was very rustic/basic, but it was nicely enclosed in a tent for privacy. Mark had run a water line and electric cord to the site, which helped with cleaning, washing up, & charging phones. A great time!!

First and foremost the host was extremely responsive with all my questions. The tiny house was exceptionally cute. The area was just what we needed to get away from every day things. The kitchen tho we didn't need much has all your basic needs.

Weekend Trip to Nicholson’s Wonder Forest

Great little camping spot with everything you need. Hot tub gets very hot, enjoyed it very much. Tent and bed are comfy. One other campsite nearby but barely noticed. A couple of little trails to wander around and a hammock to read a book in. The creek wasn’t running this time around but I imagine it’d make it even better. Mark is super kind and easy to reach if needed. Helped bring things to campsite with cart also. Would recommend/come back :)

Weekend Trip to Magical Riverside Yurt w/hot tub

Stayed on a long weekend with my partner and our two dogs and can’t overstate what an amazing space Jodee has created. It delivered everything we were initially looking for: a great space for the dogs to run around and play, a creek to wade/fish, living amenities (kitchen, bathroom, ac/heat, bed), great views, and a place to unwind (hot tub/firepit/hammock). What we didn’t expect was how much attention to detail and well curated everything was in an unassuming yurt. Everything, from the arrangements of the stones in the firepit to the hippy decor, felt so well curated and thoughtfully put together. Throughout our stay we would find more little details that really just helped us fall more in love with the place. Jodee was a great host, available for anything we may have needed while we still had all the privacy we needed. If you’re looking for a relaxing/private outdoor space with all the amenities of an indoor space, then this is the place to be. We were absolutely enchanted by our stay and fully intend to spend another magical weekend here again. Tip: Renting the side by side is a fun way to explore the area! A lot of hilly backroads to ride along while seeing local wild life and neighborhoods. The best part was our big dogs were able to sit in the back and enjoy the ride after playing in the creek all day.

2 nights at Nicholson’s Wonder Forest

Had such a wonderful stay! The property is peaceful & relaxing (felt very secluded/private but not secluded enough you’re afraid lol), and the wood-fired bath was a unique highlight. Mark is a fantastic host- friendly, kind, quick to reply, and very helpful with local recommendations. He even helped us get our gear to the site with his four-wheeler, which was much appreciated. Both sites are walk in as mentioned. It’s a maintained trail that’s not difficult. A few roots here and there to step over but no inclines. We stayed at the campsite with the yurt which had a bed/ bedding provided and extras like basic cookware, a pop-up toilet tent with a camp toilet, and a wagon for hauling gear. We packed out on our own at the end, but based on our interactions, I’m sure he would’ve happily helped us load up if we’d asked. The location is also fantastic- there are a couple of nice wineries close by (with even more we’re excited to try next time), some really charming small towns nearby worth exploring, and a national park not too far away. Overall, this is such a great spot and we’re already looking forward to coming back!

Weekend Trip to Mother Earth, hot tub, pet friendly

I booked mother Earth to celebrate a birthday and anniversary celebration. We could not have been any happier with the yurt. It had about anything that you could need. It was decorated in such a thoughtful and beautiful way. You could tell that a lot of thought and Care was put into the decorations. Everything was really clean when we got there. We were also pleasantly surprised that jodee put up a happy birthday banner for my boyfriend and also wrote a little sign for us. Wishing us a happy birthday/ anniversary. We would 100% book this again.

Just a couple of acres, tucked into the woods, with two other yurts, at different elevations for privacy. Main floor sleeping arrangements are a bedroom with new memory foam queen bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing", with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements. There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. A small washer dryer is also available. Please note, these can accommodate only small loads of laundry.
