Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so. The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide. Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. We also invite you to explore our cultivated fields of herbs and vegetables and become acquainted with the wide variety of tea, culinary, and medicinal herbs that we grow and process on our farm. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). We are located on a private 36 acres of mostly woodland. We abut 100 acres of conservation land and another 100 acres of private woodlands. Park at the end of the dirt portion of Farley Rd and it is a short 5 minute hike to the campsites. There is a marsh and a creek on the property that support myriad wildlife. There are owls, loons, eagles, hawks, hermit thrushes, robins, turkeys, song birds and herons. Absolutely beautiful campsite along a little pond. We had some surprise visits from a couple horses, Emily and Sunny, from a neighboring farm which put a great big smile on our faces. Dwayne, the man, the myth, the legend himself brought us two very large bags of wood which we happily burned throughout the cold night. Still one of my favorite sites for its convenience and scenery. Although the highway is right next to you, after a little bit it turns into white noise and helped me sleep like a baby. Thanks again for a great stay on our final trip of the year. See you guys next year!

The campsite was huge and the host was awesome. The property had so much space to explore and the 1 mile hike to the viewpoint did not disappoint! Great spot to see some late season foliage and we even got a chance to see the aurora borealis too. The no burn notice across the state of NH was a bummer but the host offered a portable propane fire pit instead which was amazing! Overall a great experience

We are at the top of Raccoon Hill. Overlooking a valley with Punch Brook at the bottom. You can see Belknap Mountain across the way. There are many trails nearby. The state snowmobile trails run nearby with access at the power lines that cross Raccoon Hill, Great for hiking, biking in the summer. And snowmobiling in the winter. State rail trail is nearby also (bottom of Raccoon Hill and rt 11) Giving access to the entire state! Highland Lake is a few miles away. Webster Lake is a bit further down the road. Camp Ebb and Flow is located on the western edge of the White Mountains, near the crossing of the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to VT. Three lakes nearby for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Hiking trails nearby. The camp offers RV sites with water, electricity, and sewer, an RV site with no hookups, and several tent sites. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is bathhouse with two toilets and two vanities as well as a shower with changing room. Potable water is also available from a spigot at the bathhouse. There are over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property with many areas you can cool off in from the summer heat. This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times. It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill. Please check the calendar for available dates. Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult. A note regarding electric vehicles (EV): If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups. At one point in the early 1900's it was home to itinerant farmers who farmed the nearby fields. Our property was the dumping grounds for the stones/rocks that were pulled from the fields. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

This is back country camping with logging roads, log landings and old country roads.There are many options for camp sites including just off road to deep in woods on logging roads & landings. Sites are not fixed - pick one you like in the non-farm zone, respecting other campers, and enjoy your visit. Note: This is real country - not a hotel, motel or groomed camp ground nor groomed trails. It is a working farm and forest. There is no front desk, no 24/7 service. Be attentive about clearance on your vehicles on side roads, logging trails and log landings. Logging & Side Roads & Landings are dirt/gravel. Some lower vehicles may have difficulty with clearance expecially in wet and muddy weather. There are many camping sites that are accessible near the main roads and better landings where you can park. Occasionally there is logging activity to stay clear of - it will be obvious as there is big equipment and log piles then. Please stay outside of the fenced Farm Zone areas. Fences are electricified for the livestock and there are big livestock guardian herding dogs in the farm zone. There are acres and acres (>100?) of wild raspberries and blackberries all over the mountains and valley - a delight for the tongue in their seasons roughly July to September. Dozens of wild apple trees abound as well. In the past people have grown marijuana on my land without permission - if you find any, go ahead and take it. A plethora and diversity of wildlife. Bring your cameras and binoculars but no guns, bows or traps. General store and Post Office 1.5 miles south of farm on Route-25. Barre town 9.5 miles north on Route-302 with Montpelier just a little further, each having a wide range of dining & shopping as well as local sights. There are many local lakes and rivers with great swiming. Groton Lake with it's Boulder Beach is just up Rt-302 a few miles to our east. A little further you'll find Lake Champlain, Lake Fairlee, Lake Morey and the Connecticut River as well as many other lakes and rivers in Vermont. PORK, both fresh and smoked, available most times from farm by appointment. Currently I have bacon, smoked jowl, smoked ham, smoked trotters and smoked hocks in stock. FIREWOOD - Vermont bans bringing firewood in from other states because of pest and disease risks so get the wood locally. You may use downed wood laying on the ground for your grill but please do not cut down trees. Dead lower branches of spruce and pine may be trimmed and they make excellent kindling. Cut close to the trunk to leave it safe for others. I also usually have dry firewood you can purchase for $10 per bundle. Much of the year fires are allowed such as when snow is on the ground. Please leave farm gates closed, stay out of fenced (electric!) farm fields, do not feed farm animals, keep roads open for others and be respectful of other campers, neighbors & locals. Fences in the farm area are typically electrified - no touch. Please note that I have big farm dogs who guard and herd our livestock. Please do not bring your dogs into the farm area (shown on map) as my dogs will see your dogs as possible threats to their livestock. Well behaved dogs, children and adults are welcome in the forest land. A leash is recommended if you do not have good voice control of dogs and children. Remember I farm so I may not always reply to texts quickly and I'm rarely near the front gate. My house is over 500' higher up the mountain from the front gate and road so I may not hear you even if you honk, especially at night.
