Off Piste Farm

3 sites · RVs, Tents50 acres · West Burke, VT
We operate a small working farm on our 50 acre property. Approximately 7 acres is cleared fields where we grow hemp, pigs and chickens. We are at the end of a dirt road with private access and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. If you decide to stay with us we can guarantee you your own private tent site to get away from it all, or a beautiful spot to park your van, car or small camper, all while still being only 10 minutes to the amenities of town, 15 minutes to world famous mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, or 20 minutes to breathtaking Lake Willoughby. Learn more about this land: We have two private tent platforms located in a mature mixed hardwood forest on our 50 acre property, as well as one van/small camper/car camping site located on the edge of our field. Each tent platform site includes an elevated and level 10'x12' cedar tent platform, a picnic table, and more privacy than the car camping site. Parking is less than a 1 minute walk from the platforms down a well maintained woods road and gorilla carts are available to help haul your gear. Many guests who wish to stay right next to their cars choose to car camp on the edge of the field in the car camping site, either pitching a tent or spending the night in their small camper. The views from this site are breathtaking, but it has less privacy as it is located next to the communal firepit, and amidst our working farm so we will occasionally be around doing chores, (the chickens and pigs are early risers). The communal fire pit has a great view and a few chairs are provided. Seasoned firewood is available for purchase, and we ask that you please do not harvest or burn your own wood off the property. Potable drinking water and a portable toilet are also available onsite for our guests. Well behaved pets are welcome, but must remain on a leash to ensure they do not disturb our plants or farm animals. We are at the dead end of a gravel road and can guarantee complete privacy and seclusion if you are looking to get away from it all, yet still be located conveniently within 10 minutes of Lyndonville, 15 minutes to Kingdom Trails and East Burke, 20 minutes to Lake Willoughby, and at the doorstep to the beautiful wilderness of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom!

Socks Family Farm

1 site · RV, Tent30 acres · Cabot, VT
Socks Family farm is the largest remaining piece of the Urban dairy farm, for which the road is named. When the hurricane of 1938 hit New England, farmers Bernard and Arreca Urban and their daughter Velma took shelter in their dairy barn, and watched their little farm cabin tumble down. After the storm, Bernard built a sturdy farmhouse, complete with hurricane rods in the walls, embedded in the bedrock. We live in that house, and had the pleasure of being friends with Velma for a number of years, till her death in 2016. We moved to this land in 2007 with our two small children, hoping to grow food and give our kids a rural childhood. We succeeded in some things, failed in others, and have many things we'd still like to try. Every season brings change, and we do our best to learn and grow from the opportunities we are given.Learn more about this land:Socks Family Farm comprises 30 acres, high in the hills of Cabot VT. Our campsites are nestled at the edges of the fields and woods. The fields are meadowland, where we pasture our animals, cut hay, and enjoy the company of a diverse cohort of grasses, flowers, insects, and birds. The fields are open, with ample sunshine and steady breezes. On clear nights, the stars are lovely, and if you're fortunate to be here on a moonless night, you'll be treated to the breathtaking sweep of the Milky Way. During the day, you can linger in the gardens, visit the sheep and chickens, wade in the pond, hike in the woods, walk the lovely dirt roads, or head out on your bike. If you're ready to range further, we're a short drive to hiking, paddling, fishing, swimming, epic mountain biking, quaint eateries, microbreweries, and more. St Johnsbury and Montpelier are the closest cities (25 and 35 minutes). Burlington is 1.25 hours, and Montreal is 2.5 hours. We moved to this land in 2007 with our two small children, and began developing a homestead. Over time, we built 2 greenhouses, a large equipment shed, planted and fenced an orchard, berry & perennial patch, & vegetable garden, made several flower gardens, set up systems for pasturing sheep and chickens, planted native shrubs and trees, and completely renovated the farmhouse. We practice organic regenerative agriculture and landscaping, with a deep commitment to strengthening and diversifying ecological systems. We offer free farm tours, and those who want to help & learn are welcome. We love the beauty of this land, and look forward to sharing it with you.

Sacred Nectar Sanctuary

11 sites · RVs, Tents280 acres · North Sandwich, NH
Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's most treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an ecofriendly, Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Thank you for being a part of the healing. We hope you enjoy what we have created here :)

The Center Farm

1 site · Lodging142 acres · Hardwick, VT
This land is a very special place. The energy is calming and you will feel at peace with yourself after just a short time walking through the woods. This property was first purchased by my great grandfather in 1919. I was fortunate to be able to purchase it from my father in 2007. Much work was done to bring it back from being neglected and overgrown. The original buildings burned to the ground in 1948 and the property has been rebuilt over the last dozen years. It is a work in progress but also a labor of love. Enjoy a stay in this small rustic cabin. Experience peace and solitude while enjoying magnificent views atop forested hills offering stunning southeast views that overlook Vermont's central mountain ranges. The site is secluded and private and is ideally situated to view wildlife, allowing one to experience the outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. WiFi is available at the barn should there be the need to reconnect with the world at large. Two guests sleep comfortably in the cabin; four would be a little tight but manageable - there is ample room for tents if need be. The 8' x 8' cabin has one set of twin bunkbeds (bedding is not provided) and an 8' x 4' covered porch. In the colder seasons there is a propane Buddy Heater available to keep the cabin cozy. The outhouse with a composting toilet is situated close to the cabin. There is a fire ring on the stone patio with a cooking grate available for grilling. Pre-purchased firewood will be at the cabin, ready for your arrival. Additional wood is available for purchase on the way up to the cabin. Recently added is a portable kitchen, set up outside for an easier cooking experience as well as a wash bin for dishes. Items available at the site: Water for dishes Cast iron pan for grilling/grate cooking Small pots with covers (multiple) Pizza pan for grilling/grate cooking Basic grilling utensils (spatula, tongs) Serving spoon(s) Various eating utensils/knives Cups/plates/bowls Dish soap & cloths Heat-resistant gloves (for grates) Small propane grill First aid kit & fire extinguisher The main property is located in the heart of a rural farming community between the town of Greensboro (home of Caspian Lake), and the village of Hardwick. It offers 3 - 4 miles of groomed, wooded trails, ideal for walking, hiking, mountain and fat biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The cabin is also in close proximity to Hill Farmstead Brewery (7 miles), The Highland Center for the Arts (3 miles) and the Willey's Store (3.5 miles). The village of Hardwick (3 miles) offers local shops, markets, restaurants, Buffalo Mountain Co-op and Front Seat Coffee (an artisan coffee house also offering free WiFi). 13 miles from the town of Craftsbury and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, an olympic-style sport training facility catering to all ability levels. Additionally the central location offers access to many of Vermont's State Parks (Green River Reservoir State Park, Elmore State Park, Groton State Park, Crystal Lake State Park, Willoughby State Forest, Brighton State Park, just to name a few) offering daily access for hiking, fishing, swimming, paddle-boarding, canoeing and kayaking.

Waterfall & Brook Camping

4 sites · Tents4 acres · Plainfield, VT
This is one of the most beautiful places to live or visit in Vermont. My home for the past 40 years is right next to a stunning waterfall and brook. I love sharing this space with others. I have 3 separate campsites, each with their own pathways and privacy from each other. Your visit here will allow you many choices of ways to relax. My land abuts the 700 acres of school property behind me and I have trail and path access right from my yard to many miles of an old road bed for walking, biking, hiking, or exploring the length of the brook. There is a waterfall across the street. At least 5 different swimming holes and the water is cold and refreshing! I am 20 minutes from the state capital, Montpelier, Vt. You have access to my delicious pure clean spring water from the hose. There is a pizza/restaurant/bar in my town just 6 minutes away. Please, no fireworks, you'll get me banned by the town officials! If you camp here you will feel like you are in a forest, but will be able to drive anywhere with ease.

SiloSide Barn and Homestead

2 sites · Lodging, Tents10 acres · Barnet, VT
The SiloSide barn and homestead is better known around town as the "Old Somers Farm" in reference to the day when the barn housed 60 head of cows. The farm was a part of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, and closed this era in the late 1980s. Prior to being a dairy farm consisting of over 500 acres, the property served as a tavern, inn, tannery, and has always been a traditional, well-loved farmhouse. Our farmhouse was built in 1785, and the barn built around the 1830s and expanded in 1941. The soil here is rich, and the forest full of wildlife. We've named our home "SiloSide" as tribute to the magic we feel on the non-road facing, silo-side of the barn, where you'll be camping.
