This beautiful, historic property was one of the first to be settled in the early 1800s. The credited first settler in Charleston, Vermont; Abner Allyn and his family owned this farm for 100 years!
Our family began restoring the farmhouse as well as beginning a small regenerative farming operation in 2022.

UPDATE APRIL 2026 : I started building on the property . The house being built is not where campers camp but 100 feet or so behind . There will be builders there Monday -Friday 8am -3/4pm . I am keeping the property open for camping because the times when builders are there working is typically the times when the campers are off property exploring the area , mountain biking etc.
This property will be turned into a homestead for my now 16 year old daughter who is on her phone all day 😉.
She is going to learn how to grow her own food and become fully self sustainable . In the meantime I would like Hipcampers to enjoy the property and the views .

I Recommend parking in lower lot and hiking to the top to camp. The road is a off road/logging road to the top. Hipcamp and myself does not cover any damage to your vehicle . Read reviews before booking.

As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. For more info call 863220 5881 Excellent drinking water is available from the hose at our house.

We also have a some dirt jumps if you need to get warmed up before your ride, and a simple bike wash station ready to go when you get back.
Lots of wildlife inhabit our area of Vermont. During your stay you're likely to see whitetail deer, squirrels and chippies, rabbits, and hawks. There's a chance you may see a fox, black bear, moose or even a bobcat! We ask that food is secured in your vehicle and not brought into the bell tents, for your own safety. We do have a basket of safety equipment in each tent. The basket contains bug spray, bear horn, simple first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and a flash light.

We look forward to grow our food forest every spring and fall season with your contributions :)!

UPDATE APRIL 2026 : I started building on the property . The house being built is not where campers camp but 100 feet or so behind . There will be builders there Monday -Friday 8am -3/4pm . I am keeping the property open for camping because the times when builders are there working is typically the times when the campers are off property exploring the area , mountain biking etc.
This property will be turned into a homestead for my now 16 year old daughter who is on her phone all day 😉.
She is going to learn how to grow her own food and become fully self sustainable . In the meantime I would like Hipcampers to enjoy the property and the views .

I Recommend parking in lower lot and hiking to the top to camp. The road is a off road/logging road to the top. Hipcamp and myself does not cover any damage to your vehicle . Read reviews before booking.

As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. Experience all that the northeast kingdom of Vermont has to offer while staying at Green Mountain Glamping. Ride the Kingdom Trails right from the property! Nestled among the trees, our bell tent sites feature comfortable beds, pillows, linens, towels, a picnic table, smokeless fire pit, large ADA portapotty and more! We also have two sites for those that want to bring their own tent, adventure rig, camper or RV. All sites are accessible with 2WD and are privately situated on our 14 acre property. We also have a bike wash station and outdoor shower.
These are private sites on our property. You'll drive past our home, garage, and garden to get to each site and you'll be able to see our buildings from the sites. We have a very large English Mastiff and some hens. Both are contained in our fenced in yard. Eggs can be purchased upon request. We also have a some dirt jumps if you need to get warmed up before your ride, and a simple bike wash station ready to go when you get back.
Lots of wildlife inhabit our area of Vermont. During your stay you're likely to see whitetail deer, squirrels and chippies, rabbits, and hawks. There's a chance you may see a fox, black bear, moose or even a bobcat! We ask that food is secured in your vehicle and not brought into the bell tents, for your own safety. We do have a basket of safety equipment in each tent. The basket contains bug spray, bear horn, simple first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and a flash light.

Frank is a really nice guy and has a beautiful property. His land is tucked away deep in the woods down a dirt road. His house is on the property, but he’s got a really large lot of land with beautiful views of nearby mountains. I stayed on his property in winter, and he was super accommodating, he plowed for me, helped me pick out the best spot that would be shielded from the wind, and even provided me with an extension cord for power and some wood. I’ll definitely be back. He’s got amazing views and a very private feeling property. He even offered that I could stay in his finished lower level if I got too cold. Cool property and it’s really close to Mt Pisgah where I was doing some hikes.

My Girlfriend and I had a perfect night of camping thanks to Don and Luna. Don was very accommodating and extremely kind. He helped us with anything we needed like camp gear as well as firewood. Each campsite was amazing with a lot of thought and effort put into it. If you want a more private camping experience, this is a great spot for it! We will certainly be back!

Betsy was wonderful! We got a little lost getting there and it was getting dark, but she came right over to our campsite when we arrived to welcome us and deliver the wood we bought. I highly recommend buying some wood because she even brings kindling, newspaper & a fire starter in order to make a lovely campfire under the stars! I highly recommend Betsey’s place!

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Glamping
We LOVED our stay with Betsey!! Our crew rented the two bell tents and a tent site for a weekend bike trip. Each site was clean, well kept, and so cozy. The sites all have plenty of privacy while still being close proximity to the bathrooms and other sites. The bell tents had every single thing you could possibly think of. Solar powered lights, cute decor, maps of the area, a first aid kit, flash lights, bear horn, literally you name it and it was in there. It got down to 31 degrees at night consistently during our stay and our beds were stacked with blankets as well as flannel sheets. The beds are COMFY. The tents have a wood stove as well that heats up quick. I have never been to a more thoughtful glamping set up that still felt like a solid weekend of off grid camping. The stars are also insane on the property so be prepared to need a neck massage from looking up all night! Betsey was the best host and really, really cares. She was super attentive and incredibly kind start to finish. Not to mention the sites are just a quick ride to all of the trails as well as down town. 100/10 would stay with Betsey again and I’ll be recommending to anyone that’ll listen!! Thank you so much!!!

The site was really easy to find with plenty of signs along the way. We arrived at sunset and left the next morning, didn’t have to check in with the host.
It’s tucked away from other campsites, so it feels private and peaceful. There’s a nice mix of shaded areas and open sky for setting up a tent or hammock, plus lots of space to park right next to the site.
Everything you need is already there - fire pit with plenty of wood, picnic table, and benches. All in a quiet and private setting. We even saw a few horses while driving in and out, which made it feel extra special. The road leaving the farm has beautiful views, especially in the morning light.

5 nights at Green Mountain Glamping
I’m always very straight forward when it comes to reviews and let me start by saying this was one of the best places I’ve stayed at recently. The host was very very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. She also gave us some extra wood for the wood stove in the tent even before we had the chance to ask her. Bathrooms and shower was available on site along with towels and wash cloths. Charcoal and propane grill on site with charcoal and propane. Pots pans and everything from forks to a French press was available. Even had a hammock that my wife lived on while we were there. I came up to Vermont from Michigan to do fall color tour in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine and this site was a good spot to hit all of the beautiful areas that part of the country has to offer. The town close by has a good restaurant we went too and from the looks of it there’s many very nice restaurants if you’re looking to go out to eat, some needed reservations but was worth reserving. All in all fantastic experience. I can’t comment on what it’s like with other campers since we were the only ones there but water hose on site next to the chickens nice clear sky to stare into at night. 100% would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. Also if you’re around for biking they have cool little jumps on site you can use. Thank you for a great experience !
