This beautiful, historic property was one of the first to be settled in the early 1800s. The credited first settler in Charleston, Vermont; Abner Allyn and his family owned this farm for 100 years! Our family began restoring the farmhouse as well as beginning a small regenerative farming operation in 2022. Currently we have a small flock of broilers and layers, turkeys, ducks and guineas. Our birds are fed an organic feed local to Vermont and are pasture raised. Freya an Luna are the Great Pyrenees' about the farm. They protect the flocks from predators. They are working dogs and have access to the entire property. For this-and other reasons, we discourage bringing pets to the farm. A sweet brook meanders through the property which all sites have access to as well as stunning views of bald mountain. Lovely farm views throughout the seasons. Multiple trails for exploring can be found on and off farm. Trail heads to multiple mountains are within a few minutes of campsites. Lake Willoughby is a short 4 miles away, 7 miles to Island Pond, as well as endless hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and more.

This site is an easy pull off on Westmore road located in Southeast corner of property. Ideal for Vans or Truck Campers/ Car campers. Sight is tucked into young forest. Currently in process of becoming more developed camping. Allyn Brook runs next to site. Compost toilet provided by hosts if needed. Spring water available at farm house. Limited cell service. Primitive site.

This RV site is located next to large barn. It is a flat grassy space parallel to large barn. There is a 50 amp outlet with RV adaptor and regular outlets. This is ideal for RV or campers that need electricity. This site is located in the heart of all farm activities and the house is visible to site. Guests have access to fire pit behind barn, surrounded by Allyn brook, pastures and forest. Trails throughout farm are open to meander through. Mud boots recommended. The farm is located 4.5 miles to Lake Willoughby, 7 miles to Island Pond and close to numerous trail heads, lakes and bike trails.

Airstream is close to amenities and has easy access. There is limited to no cell phone reception on property, however, Wifi is available. Electricity. Water available however airstream plumbing is not operational. Filtered water for drinking. Composting toilet. Binder with details on table. Accommodates 4 folks, a double bed and two singles with bedding. Kitchen has basic set up including refrigerator and freezer, hot water, pans, cups, bowls, plates silverware, etc, stovetop and oven. We are around and available to answer questions as needed. The 1976 Airstream is parked between the house and barn, it will be visible from the driveway. Park to the right of airstream in the grass and the door will be open.

1976 Airstream Farm Site

We had a wonderful time at Nordic roots farm. What a magical place! The airstream was fully equipped with all of the essentials travelling with our one year old. She had a blast with the pigs and chickens too. We look forward to coming back! Thank you guys again for the memorable trip :)

The roadside pull off was great spot. Just enough cover for shade and privacy. Plenty of room for tenting and hanging. Sonya and the dogs were super nice. I will come back

Northern Vermont peaceful farm

I really enjoyed camping with my rpod 179 on Sonya’s farm. It is late fall and being able to hook up to power has made it very comfortable even with the temperatures in the 30s outside. I was able to take a gentle hike around the property and loved talking to Sonya and her husband. On a clear night the stars are amazing here. I hope to return to this peaceful farm.

We had a lovely stay on the farm! The airstream was clean and cozy, Sonya and Jason were kind and lovely to talk to, and their dog made for wonderful company. We would definitely stay here again!

It was a fine spot. Had a fire pit and several areas to put you yet but it is right off of the road so you can hear the cars and see headlights at night. Some of the spaces for a tent would easily be seen from the road too. But other than that it was okay.

We didn’t have any luck with the weather during our trip and so we went home earlier but the owners have a magnificent land and are so sweet, very helpful, i would definitely go back!

1976 Airstream Farm Site

Sonya & Jason were wonderful hosts, as well as their dog (tasked with keeping the flock safe at night!) and cat which meandered around the yard. The Airstream was great, and provided a nice ground-zero while exploring Lake Willoughby and the Kingdom Trails. Taking some some tasty frozen chicken from their farmstand, was icing on the cake. 5-stars - would recommend!! :)

The night sky at Sonya's was incredible. I stayed up so late watching shooting stars and was lucky to cat h a clear night. I appreciate how close this site is to Seminal State Park and Lake Willoughby. It was close enough to Sonya and her family that I felt safe as a solo camper but far away enough that I knew I had privacy. The brook was pleasant to fall asleep to and this primitive site is well worth the cost.

The location is amazing, near to great hikes and a beautiful creek to enjoy. Less then 20 minutes from Willoughby lake (make sure you car ou van is in good condition to go up the hill). Sonya and Tank are wonderful hosts, we've had mechanical problems with our van and they've been so helpful and generous with us, making us feel like part of the family. We highly recommend the site.

Best camping spot ever!

1976 Airstream Farm Site

This land is definitely the best thing I could have expected! From the moment my two friends and I arrived, I felt the wave of warmth and love that Sonya and Jason wanted to convey to us. This lovely couple, their children and their beautiful dog Freya made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. While Sonya lent us some olive oil, Jason helped us prepare a fire for the evening. The Airstream was perfect. Super clean, with everything you need to be self-sufficient, and it's so lively, you know it's in good hands. Close to a small river and surrounded by fresh Vermont air, it really is the best solution for resting. On behalf of Emma, Louis-Antoine and me, many thanks again for making this stay so unique. We look forward to seeing you again next year (or this fall!).

Charming place

1976 Airstream Farm Site

We had a very pleasant stay! The place is enchanting and peaceful, the owners very welcoming and the accommodation has everything you need to have a good time. We sleep there at night to the sound of a small stream which passes right in front of the airstream. It was perfect!

I needed overflow accommodations for visiting friends. They enjoyed the novelty of staying in the Airstream and said, “Wonderful, kindhearted hosts! All of the basic amenities are in the camper, including internet.” The farm is far more idyllic than the photos show. Recommended!
