Excellent location with excellent view. Had some bad weather that we were prepared for and we'll definitely have to go back so we can enjoy it when there's a clear sky at night. Like other reviews said four-wheel drive is a must. My Subaru Outback could not make it up after repeated attempts, then I ended up trying to drive up in reverse and somehow that worked. I think having the weight of the engine on the bottom of the incline is what made the difference and a heavier SUV or truck wouldn't have an issue It's not at all a 'dangerous' drive it's just a matter of whether your vehicle can make it up the incline. Coming down was very easy. Once we made it up we had a great time. Hello next time I would position my tent a little farther from the pond because those frogs are loud at night. I read another review that said they were serenaded to sleep by the frogs so to each their own I guess. We also stopped by Lake Willoughby nearby which I highly recommend especially if the weather is good for swimming. Overall had a great time and plan to go back someday.

What a beautiful location! When I say I want to camp in Vermont, this is exactly what I envision. I'm still upset I had to cut my trip short, I had originally planned two night but life had other plans. I do plan on returning hopefully sometime in the fall to experience those views with a different color palette (: The gravel road can be a little intimidating and steep in some areas but I went up with my RAV4 (woodland edition which has a slight lift & bigger tires) without any issues but I don't think I would've attempted that road with smaller tires. Overall beautiful & very peaceful!

We had the most amazing stay on Anthony’s land. Our pups loved watching the frogs in the pond, and we enjoyed the beautiful views of the mountains. We are definitely coming back!

My husband and I had a wonderfully, peaceful stay on Anthony's land. We drove to the top in our 4-wheel drive truck (wouldn't have taken my car up to the top!). We saw a beautiful, healthy-looking fox on our way up! The peepers were out in abundance, serenading us to sleep. It was very private, and the views were spectacular! We would love to camp there again. Thank you, Anthony!

We absolutely loved this spot! The directions were perfectly clear on how to get to the site. The pond in combination to the privacy was superb for our two dogs. They were off-leash the entire time and spent 99% of the time in the pond watching frogs. Despite the rainy weekend we spent up on the hill, the views were still excellent. I think this site would be best visited in the fall time as the bugs were unbelievable with the direct pond access & time of year we went (late spring-early summer). A campfire kept them away though, so just bring plenty of firewood.

Such a beautiful location. Great views and very private. Had no troubles at all with the driveway in my F-150. Anthony was a great communicator through the stay when I had a couple questions. Will definitely look to stay here again!

This property is absolutely stunning! While you’ll need a four-wheel drive to reach it, the journey is so worth it once you arrive. You’ll be greeted with nearly 180-degree views of the mountains—it’s breathtaking! The host is super respectful and helpful, making sure you have all the info you need. I car camped there, and it was an unforgettable experience!

We had a lovely time camping on Anthony’s land. Very peaceful. Photos don’t do the view justice, and the stars were some of the best we’ve ever seen in New England on a new moon. Was able to drive up in my Honda CRV but was white knuckling the wheel - it’s steep!

Anthony’s land is beautiful! It’s got the best sky view we’ve had in a while. It was easily accessible by 4Runner (with an experienced off road driver). We definitely want to go back. Great spot!

One of the best camping spots! A rocky and steep drive up but able to drive up in a Chevy Equinox with no issues. It was awesome being able to let the dogs run and play off leash and then ending the evenings watching the sunset by the fire. Highly recommend getting up for sunrise as well. The site is a short drive from multiple lakes and hiking trails to explore. The host, Anthony, was very responsive and I would absolutely stay here again.

What an absolutely amazing place!! If you are looking for remote tent camping away from everything in northern Vermont, this is it. We had the whole mountain top and pond to ourselves after a somewhat technical drive up the rough stone/dirt road to the site. Unless you plan to essentially backpack your stuff up the road for quite a ways, you should be prepared to drive - which we did easily with our Subaru Forester. Once at the top, the sites are awesome - big open field around a pond, fire pit above, nice flat grassy area below, easy to maneuver the car at the top and turn around with no problem at all. We had a beautiful early evening sky, and if it weren't for clouds later on the night view would have been amazing. Be sure to bring your own wood if you plan to have a fire (which you should!) as there is very little to be found along the field edges. Follow Anthony's very clear directions - not the Hipcamp link - or you will take the wrong road :-)
We will absolutely be coming back here again. It is a rare gem of a camping site!!!

Amazing camp site with exceptional view and privacy. We round various activities during our 3 days trip (hiking Mountain Pisgah and bathing in Willoughby lake) and exploring the little towns and the country around.
2 important things to know:
1/ There is an excavation compagny downhill that can make a little noise during work hours but after 5 PM it is full nature and we totally forget something else exists besides bieds and frogs sounds and the beauty of the sky.
2/ The way up the camp site is long and hard especially with camping material on your back
So I recommend a 4WD or xtra light camping.
I insist besides its « hard to get » aspect this camps is exceptionally beautifull and quiet.

We had an amazing weekend! The place is stunning, with a breathtaking view. We were able to access the site easily with our Subaru Crosstrek, despite the recent heavy rains. At night, we enjoyed watching a meteor shower while comfortably lying in the tall grass, listening to the crickets sing. We truly felt privileged. It’s worth much more than a 5-star hotel! This will make for some wonderful memories... Thanks to Anthony for the detailed directions.

Great stay at Anthony's place with beautiful views! Walked up to the top and got it at about 0.6 miles and 325 ft elevation gain. Took 10 to 15 mins but worth it.

We camped at different locations every night for a week around Vermont and New Hampshire and this was hands down the best site!
The view is stunning and the location felt very safe. The privacy and open space was perfect for our high energy dog who has a more difficult time at busy campgrounds.
The walk up to the campsite measured about 750m on my watch, its a bit of a workout so pack appropriately. We walked up first to check the condition for driving and ending up bringing our Subaru up without issue with the AWD.
Anthony gave great directions and was quick to respond to all messages.
From this campsite we had a pretty easy drive to Hill Farmstead Brewery and Parker’s Pies.
Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

What an incredible spot to set up camp!!! The views are incredible and privacy is unparalleled. I booked Anthony’s site for my best friend’s bachelorette party, and I would do it again in a heartbeat! The steep, windy road up to the top added even more adventure to our trip~ we came prepared in trucks and SUVS! 20 minute drive to Lake Willoughby where we soaked up the sun all day to come back to a perfect cotton candy sunset at our campsite. Truly unreal. I will definitely be back!

Spectacular view. The site feels incredibly secluded on top of the hill. We appreciated the dry wood available for us to use in the fire. Tent site on the west side of the pond was ideal!

We loved staying on Anthony’s land. The views are amazing and we were secluded enough. The area was clean and peaceful. We were accompanied by frogs in the pond. They did not bother us, however they are nocturnal. Anthony was very responsive and caring. He ensured we were aware of the animals that were there previously.
