The Guide Cabin is accessed via a halfsnowshoe/hike/bike from the Rt. 100 Killin. You must snowshoe or ski up in the winter, and you must hike or bike up in the summer. It is carry-in and carry-out for all your belongings. Vehicles are not permitted on the trails. BACKCOUNTRY SKIING IS ONLY PERMITTED WITH A GUIDE. Skiing gladed ski runs requires a guide and is not included in the cabin rental. For more information, please contact us for more information and check out our backcountry skiing page. This off the grid cozy family owned cabin is located in the town of Sunderland, Vermont. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of national forest, campers can enjoy the sounds of a swift stream flowing nearby, birds chirping in trees, and the rustling of leaves and branches in the breeze. This mountainous area has a rich array of wildlife, meadows, trails, and only a few miles away from the Battenkill River, a tributary of the Hudson River of New York. Once inside you’ll find a small kitchen and dining area complete with a wood burning stove for those cool Vermont nights. The sleeping area offers four generously-sized bunks, a loft area, and a queen futon. Enjoy the peace of nature with a cup of coffee on the porch, but don’t forget to cap off the night with smores around the fire pit! Access to Vermont’s Long Trail System is nearby, with its 272 mile footpath and 166miles of side trails. This offers endless hiking opportunities for the day-hiker, weekend overnighter and extended backpacker. The Long Trail follows the main ridge of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts-Vermont state line to the Canadian border, crossing Vermont’s highest peaks. As for the daily adventures, take a drive to surrounding ski resorts, including Bromley Mountain being just 15 miles from the property, where you can enjoy various activities year-round. Take a 10 minute drive to visit Mount Equinox Skyline drive where you’ll take in incredible views. Just past Mount Equinox is The Village of Manchester, which is home to the famed Equinox Resort and Spa. In Manchester, guests can enjoy everything from shopping & dining to outdoor classes for ATV driving and fly fishing!

Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the camp site (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first!  Listen to the birds and relax!  And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle!   Want to play with goats? HIKING Take a hike through our woods or access the thousands of acres adjacent to our property. You will see waterfalls, streams, birds, tracks from the wildlife, and beautiful views. Plenty of places to dip into the cool water when you need to cool off! Walk or drive down to either of 2 covered bridges and see the craftmanship that enables them to continue to be used today! Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles. BIKING Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed). FISHING/HUNTING In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed. CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains. MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home! WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys! OTHER ACTIVITIES - Smugglers Notch is a quick drive (South) - Jay Peak is a quick drive (North) - Disc Golf, Ropes Course, Golf, and more. - Access local eateries like the Burger Barn - a local favorite, grap a yummy sandwich or pizza at the Cupboard. - Explore local breweries and distilleries - Forgot something? There are small groceries, a couple of hardware stores, gas stations, etc within a quick drive. Camp sites include flat area, fire ring. Electricity and water at 2 sites. 1 site has a poured concrete pad -- perfect for a camper/RV. The other sites (grassy) can accomodate a camper/RV or tents. Please be prepared to provide your own camping toilet and pack out your trash. If you bring your dog(s), please clean up after them and have "control" as the dirt road is fully in view of the sites. (ATVs (on the trail) and a few vehicles do use the road.) Firewood for firepits available for sale.

Our herd of alpacas once was shown successfully in the Eastern States, now mostly range on the farm, having sweet cria (babies), growing magnificent fiber and effortlessly entertaining throngs of wedding guests! Our beef herd, comprised of Black and Red Angus, Hereford and Belted Galways has fluxuated as the market and hay supplies demand. We have a vineyard of Marquette grapes that are so delicious, that we have to race the birds for them in the fall. Our land is quiet, off the beaten path, and brimming with beautiful views of mountains, hills, valleys with winding creeks. This property has seen years of agriculture as a sheep farm, dairy farm and a fence company. We are happy to share this land and our gentle creatures with you. Learn more about this land: We are a working Alpaca and Beef farm in Central Vermont. Our cottage is available in the spring, summer and fall to Airbnb guests. Recently we have added the winter season for the adventurous Clamping crowd. The cottage is very private, with alpacas nearby. Hiking, xc-skiing (bring your own) and The Vast (Snowmobile)trails are also nearby. We have amazing western views of the Adirondack mountains, and are 20 minutes from Middlebury, Vergennes; 1 hour from Burlington and Rutland and 45min from Middlebury Snowbowl Ski Area.

3 nights at Oma's Cabin -A Quiet Forest Retreat

This was our third visit to Oma’s cabin. We came for a long weekend to get away and unplug. We got exactly that. The cabin was cozy and warm thanks to the stove. Erin & Philip are excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and well situated. We highly recommend coming here for a retreat away from the rest of the world.

3 nights at Riverhaven

My partner and I had such a beautiful stay here. The river, the trees, the smell of wood when you walk into the cabin and the little gas stove. A beautiful place to unplug and tune in to yourself and the earth. We were cozy and warm despite the low temperatures during our stay and had a lot of fun cooking on the grill and over the fire pit. Would definitely stay here again! Pro tip: say hi to Renel and her family if you have time, her kiddos are the sweetest. :)

This was magical! You can hear the stream the entire time we were there, which I loved! The decor and the ambiance was just lovely. We will be back again to stay!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Cabin

We had a wonderful stay st the cozy mountain cabin. It is just as the name suggests. Perfect spot to get away and enjoy nature and relax. The cabin is very nicely kept and has had some recent renovations and appears more to come making an even more comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend and plan on returning ourselves when the weather warms up a bit.

The river is so beautiful and peaceful that you can see and hear out the window. The cabin had everything you could need and Robyn was very quick and helpful with any questions. And the area is very dog friendly.. The heater was plenty warm for the cold nights.. I am a smoker and we were getting a little bit of rain so Robyn brought me over a canopy and set it up for me. Overall wonderful time Thank you

Shrek's cabin is fantastic, definitely check it out if you get the chance. Matt was very quick to respond, and the cabin is rustic, but well supplied. Very beautiful views.

I spent a day at Robbin's little cabin by the Poultney river with my partner, and it was so wonderful! The river is beautiful, and the cabin is cozy and felt like the perfect amount of space for a nice little dinner, cards, reading, having coffee. The cabin felt well stocked and Robbin was really responsive! I'd definitely come back :)

What a great quiet spot for a winter hiking week - quiet well appointed lots of wood clear and cozy just as advertised. Get thoughtful set up for the River our dog. Sleeping to the stream was relaxing. Great center location for lots of great hiking.

Weekend Trip to C.Valley Alpaca and Beef Ranch

If you're looking for a cozy winter glamping experience with silly alpacas, sweet cows, a welcoming cat and an adorable dog, look no further! I had the best weekend staying in the pool house and relaxing with some books, embroidery, yoga and a big afternoon nap. I came back from my trip feeling rejuvenated and for that, I am so grateful! Les and Jenny are delightful and I'm so grateful to them for sharing their retreat space!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin

Brought my girlfriend and her two pups to Robbin’s little cabin for a pre Valentine’s Day get away. The cabin is adorable and Robbin is a wonderful host. The cabin is well stocked and a perfect relaxation station for a little system reset. Had a a visiting Bald Eagle perch in the tree above me while I grilled some steaks on the little charcoal grill for dinner. We also enjoyed the fire pit and even took a midnight walking adventure on the snowmobile trail that was near by with the pups.

Robbin’s little cabin was immaculate. Exactly as advertised and so cozy and homy. I would 100% come back during some warmer times to enjoy the outdoor space. I recommend this place to any wonderful whimsical soul visiting this charming town.

We had a great weekend at the tiny house! It was thoughtfully equipped, comfortable, clean and homey. The propane woodstove kept us warm in the snowstorm. Neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed breakfast at Perry’s in town. Great value for the price. We would return.

My NE travels are more limited than I'd like by my vehicle's 2WDand low clearance, so this location was great in terms of accessibility. There are a few houses around, but it still felt private and safe, especially once inside, as the cabin's windows facing the woods and river behind the house where no other houses can be seen. The host provided very detailed instructions for the cabin and the area, and was very responsive throughout my stay. The propane stove was incredibly warm even as overnight temps dipped into the teens and lower.

The cabin above the Poultney River was very sweet and comfy and had a great view. It's convenient to town on a quiet street. The stereo rocks and in warm weather the little yard would be pleasant to sit in.
