Chilly evenings in the hut are easily tempered by a pot belly stove fed by seasoned wood. A built in bunk accommodates two people, but it’s possible to sleep up to four guests.

We are located mid-point in the network at a perfect jumping off point for adventure. Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed). FISHING/HUNTING In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed. CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains. MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home! WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys! This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. The site is located on a lovely mountain brook in Huntington. The small 8' x 8' cabin includes a queen bed with a mattress protector (you provide your own linens, blankets, and pillows), a small wood stove, and a bedside table. The large windows overlook the falls, and you’ll fall asleep to the sound of the waterfalls and brook. There are drawers for storage under the bed. The site is accessed by a gravel driveway off a Class 4 road, and you can park close to the site. In winter, when there is snow on the ground, the Class 4 road isn’t plowed past the bridge, so you’ll need to walk in—about 50 yards from the parking area. Firewood is provided for the wood stove. The site is near our home (about 100 meters away through the woods). It’s within a short drive or bike ride to some of the best mountain biking and hiking (Camel’s Hump, Mount Abe) and cross-country skiing (Sleepy Hollow, Camel’s Hump Nordic, Catamount Trail) in Vermont. We are 15 minutes from Richmond and Hinesburg, 20 minutes from Mad River Glen, and just a half hour from Burlington. The site does get cell reception, but the cabin has no electricity or other facilities, so all waste must be packed out. We provide a bucket commode, but please bring your own trash bags to pack out all waste.

I really enjoyed Renel’s sweet little cabin by the river, it was peaceful and tidy and nicely decorated, with thoughtful touches like books and decks of cards that I really appreciated, as well as local recommendations and clear instructions about the place. The hosts were kind and responsive, and you can feel the love they have for their land. I hope to stay again soon and be lulled to sleep by the rushing water.

Loana’s property was amazing, me and my boyfriend were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived! We stayed at The Horse Run-in, the view of the land from the hot tub was beautiful and we enjoyed using their grill and other amenities during our stay. We had a great time exploring the property around the disc golf course, as well as using the outdoor tub on the side of the cabin. Truly made our one year anniversary a special time to remember. ❤️

Perfect location - the tiny house is set just above the river and is idyllic, with beautiful views and the constant sound of the water. There is easy access to the site from the parking spot. Definitely bring a book, bc you won’t be accessing cell service of WiFi, but that’s exactly what I was looking for. I’ll definitely be back!

Hidden gem. This space is awesome. So amazing to have the sound of running water, small waterfall, swimming hole behind the cabin. Very clean inside. Hosts Matt & Kindle were so accommodating and pleasant. Matt recommended Camels hump for a hike (which is nearby) and it was an excellent, challenging hike.

This cabin was everything we could have dreamed for and more! The cabin was beautiful, the decor and the view was amazing and our 3 pups had an absolute blast being able to come with us! The cabin came equipped with everything you could need to have the best glamping experience. We enjoyed that it came with an ac and we took advantage of cooking on the grill they had. I was nervous about the bathroom situation since it’s an out house but the decor made it feel homey and it just felt like any other bathroom, we were pleasantly surprised! We also loved that it came with a mini fridge and a coffee maker so we could enjoy coffee on the porch while looking out on the beautiful river and mountain view’s. We had such an amazing time that we plan to come back at the end of the month. Could not recommend this cabin enough!! ⛺️

Weekend Trip to Ryegate Away Cabins

The cabin was great. The views were amazing! Jessica was very nice and responsive. It was very peaceful and quiet. 2 things. The cabins are not private. They are close to each other and they share the outhouse that is technically a bucket you are going to the bathroom in. If you don’t know the other people renting the cabin next to you it could be a little strange especially when the bucket fills close to the top. But overall the stay was great!

Great hosts and beautiful space. We have been before and camped and this time we stayed in a cabin. Both experiences were exceptional. The town of Wilmington is very sweet and nearby. There is a beautiful reservoir nearby! Have already recommended to friends and will be back again.
