Kolob Campground is located adjacent to the Kolob Reservoir boat ramp and dock, including four acres of private shoreline. Just a few feet from the paved road, nestled in tall aspen, oak,
and pine trees.
Access to potable water is available adjacent to camp, and public restrooms (vault toilets) are only a short walk from camp.
WiFi access is available nearby at Kolob Adventure Rentals/Adventure Beach (3 minute walk). WiFi location and password provided by host upon request. This is an exclusive benefit available to our guests, and the only WiFi available to campers in the area.

Welcome to The Wildflower at Western Legacy Farm and Ranch, Alton, UT. We specialize in authentic Cowboy Experiences, Adorable Farm Animals, and Destination Weddings/Events. When we aren't doing those things, we rent out our beautiful property to vacation rental guests. This mountain treasure sits on 180 acres and is centered between the majestic Zion National Park and breathtaking Bryce Canyon. This is one of three of our tiny guest cabins.
Our tiny cabins are idea for guests who want to be in nature, away from the crowds, but still close enough to get back on the road quickly. The cabin is one room, one bathroom. There is a deck with seating and beautiful views. Please note: there is not anything for cooking, storing, or warming food. Guests should plan to eat prior to arrival & will need a plan to purchase food in the morning.
Other things to note
Please note: Our tiny cabins DO NOT INCLUDE A KITCHEN. Guests should plan accordingly. Cabins do have a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and electric skillet. The nearest restaurants are 20-45 minutes away.
Also note: We first book our entire ranch to guests, then to fill in vacant nights we allow guests to book individual units, such as this is. When the ranch is split into smaller bookings, guests can expect to share the outdoor spaces such as garden, hen house, animals, pastures, etc. with guests renting the other units. Your cabin isn't shared. But the outdoor spaces could be.

Conveniently located just a couple minutes off Highway 89, this is the perfect stop over between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Special features including private fishing ponds, a large pavilion equipped with tables and chairs, fire pits, kayaks and FREE WIFI will make your stay easy and fun! You will have access to the multi-acre campground where you can choose which tent site or RV site you prefer. We DO allow no hook-up camping vans in our tent sites. Two of our four new RV sites have full hook-ups (sites 3 & 4), the other two (sites 1 & 2) have water and power hookups only. All sites are equipped with 30 & 50 amp breakers
You will have access to the large pavilion for gathering, cooking or shelter from the elements. You also have access to the clean bath house, equipped with two shower rooms (with on-demand hot water) and flushable toilets. As an added bonus, you will have access to the ponds, you may use the boat, canoe or kayaks, you can also catch and release fish if you have your own fishing equipment. In the middle of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument; adjacent to Bryce Canyon National Park; within walking distance of Kodachrome Basin State Park; and an easy drive to Zion and Capital Reef National Parks, as well as Lake Powell National Recreational Area, this unique site is an opportunity not to miss. The pet/horse friendly property (approximately 9 acres/3 ha/64 sq. m) boasts private designated single tent sites, and a mix car camping and larger RV sites, as well as paleontological, geological, biological, astronomical, and historical interests of the ranch. The equestrians will find three paddocks, a round pen, as well as beautiful places to ride from the ranch.
This secluded location has a small town of Cannonville Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Visitor Center. And, bonus, the in town campground has: high speed internet, and cell phone service and laundry. This ranch and campground is an off the grid, passive/active solar voltaic, so no electricity, no internet and only Verizon works here. In Tropic 12 miles distant all carriers get service.
Potable water, shower, dish washing station and composting toilet (This means that all campers count when booking, even the kids...their poops add up too).
The views are spectacular from any site where the xeroscaped landscape uses indigenous material and plants to complement the quintessential Pinon/Juniper ecosystem the campground sits in. On three sides you are surrounded by red cliffs in the Carmel Formation which can give shelter from wind and sun, but campers can also look out over the Paria River (you can hear the river from camp as well as its amphibians) which runs south in front of the property and eventually meets the Colorado River at Lee’s Ferry where most put-in to raft the Grand Canyon. Looking north, one sees the meaning of the term “Grand Staircase” by viewing The Entrada, Tropic Shale, Straight Cliffs, Wahweap, Kaiparowits, and Pink Limestone Formations capped by late Tertiary Volcanism; or, the “steps” of Promise Rock, Sand Point, Powell Point, and the Aquarius Plateau (highest forested mesa in North America at over eleven thousand feet.).
The biological diversity here is also astounding:
Birds: 140 species and counting including the tiny Costa’s Humming Bird all the way up to the enormous California Condor.
Plants: 2 species of Sagebrush, 4 species of trees, numerous grass species, and a plethora of beautiful wildflowers and cacti.
Reptiles: Many species of snakes and lizards. Unfortunately, this includes the occasional rattlesnake. It is advised that you have your pets vaccinated.
Amphibian: Toads and Salamanders
Insects: There are very few mosquitos. There are a few biting Deer Flies, and worse yet, those damn gnats. These “no-see-ums” are temperature dependent so are not a bother in the shade, early mornings, late evenings and at night. It is recommended that you bring some kick ass insect repellant and a “bee hat” if you are out and about in the sun during the day between May and July.
Fossils: Bivalves, snails, petrified wood (many types) and various other corals, insects and plant fossils abound and are often incorporated into the ranch infrastructure. The nearby area is considered the hottest paleontological spot on the planet.
Astronomy: The area is widely considered to be under the darkest skies in the lower 49. The Milky Way and Presides are common sights without the unsightly annoyance of any neighbor’s lights.
The climate is varied and interesting. All four seasons are here and occasionally all in one day. Winter snows melt quickly though temperatures can dip into the sub-zeros. The 5,900 ft./1800 m. elevation keeps the summer temps reasonable and always gives a chilly summer evening to cool things off. If you want climatic extremes, you can, within an hour or so, be at Lake Powell and its 100+ F/38+ C heat or on the Aquarius Plateau at 65 degrees F/18 C in midday June.
Recreation on many levels is all within proximity. From canyoneering, “free” climbing on an established nearby crag composed of a welded tuff capping the Aquarius Plateau (see Mountain Project and “The Aquarius Plateau”) and many aid lines on Entrada Formation towers within walking distance (see Mountain Project and “The Grand Staircase”), water sports of Lake Powell and the Colorado River as well as fishing in the cool temps of Pine Lake 35 minutes distant. Then of course, there is the Monument, National Park and the State Park only a short drive away.
Seclusion, security, water, and views all within a short walk or drive of exiting destinations, make this worth the stop.

There’s a pretty solid chance that you’ve heard about Moab, one of Utah’s most happening recreation spots. This gorgeous place gets packed, so do your homework beforehand so you know where to go! The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. BLM lands are also fantastic base camps for forays into nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). River recreation on the Colorado and Green Rivers is another major draw. However you spend your time in Moab, you’ll fall in love with the impressive red rock formations, the deep canyons, and surprising amount of plant life.

We have ten acres that our home sit on but about 9 acres that consist of dry farm grass. We use 1 acre for camping and parking. The Weber river runs across the back of our property where we have a campground with tables and firepits. This is a family campground. We do not have Electrical Power or Water hookups. We have added 4 wooden porta potty enclosed in small tents which we service every day or as needed. Site selection is determined by type of sleeping accommodations and managements discretion.
We have now have one tent areas and 1 RV spot.
**We allow 2 adults per site and/or 2 adults and minor children per site.

We are not a public campground and only list through Hipcamp and so our property is posted with NO TRESPASSING SIGNS. It is very important to let us know your approximate arrival time and call when you arrive. We will guide you down to the campgrounds and show you the best spots base on your type of camping. (Sleeping in trailers or van's versus tent campers)
One draw back to our property is that we are within 1/2 mile of a well use highway (US 84) and railroad track. We have only had one camper who was concerned about the noise. Here at the house we don't notice it and maybe we are just use to it.
Limited swimming and use of paddle board based on river conditions.
Fishing is limited because we are on private property and the river is not stocked by the Utah fish and game. So, we are dependent on normal reproduction of the fish. Fly fishing being the best however you can use lures. Power bait or any bait that requires treble hooks are not allowed.. We would prefer catch and release.

We are locally owned by a family of 8 and love calling Moab our home. We understand the corporate overtaking that Moab has had in the last 5 years and plan to keep our campground affordably priced and locally owned. We have upgraded the old site plan from 7 RV sites to 55 Full Service RV sites this year. Most sites are pull through but we will have some back-ins. Our new bathhouse has a laundry, women's bathrooms and showers, men's bathrooms and showers, and an ADA compliant family style bathroom.
In addition to the new bathhouse, we have a new office and retail store where we sell souvenirs, RV supplies, snacks, drinks, ice, firewood, and other necessities for guests. We do not currently have propane fill on site.
We know that there are many options to choose from when it comes to staying in Moab. We urge people to support locally owned businesses that help Moab grow and solve problems that exist in our community. Moab is a recreation mecca with something for everyone and our little campground on the south end of the valley puts you within minutes of town, the mountains, and the red deserts around Moab.

We started a non-profit to promote the Rescue, Rehab, Retrain and Rehome method to get horses out of bad situations and into good homes. We are a small rescue and hope to be much bigger one day! The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep". This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays. The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other. You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house. If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses.PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Bathroom hours are 8am-9pm. Parking is located a few hundred feet from the campsite, just off of the road. You must walk a few hundred feet to get to the campsite and you cannot pull your vehicle right up to it. While we do welcome car campers and pop-up trailers, just know you won't be parked at the campsite if you choose to sleep this way. We look forward to having you camp with us!

The South-40@LaSal Is: quiet, spacious, secluded, secure, and natural! We are located 26 miles southeast of Moab Utah. (about a 30 minute drive from Moab and 40 minutes from Arches national Park). The property is 40 acres of undeveloped ranchland That borders the remote community of La Sal, Utah. We are pet friendly with plenty of room to exercise your pets. We irrigate a small pasture exclusively for wildlife. Deer, rabbits, and foxes Frequent visitors and you may hear our local "Song Dogs" (coyotes) "whooping it up" in the evening hours.
We currently offer four (4) RV spots and several opportunities for tent camping. The RV spots include: Electric hook ups with (50amp, 30 amp, & 20 amp) water hydrants, Wi-Fi Internet, gray water disposal system, and solar powered sanitary vault toilet. There is no full sewer hook-up but we have an off-site dump station available about 1/4 mile away.

Brief history of Camp Joy:
Camp Joy is a small parcel of land given to my grandmother and her sisters by my paternal great grandfather. It was part of a larger, 2,500 acre parcel that has been used for grazing sheep the last 100 or so years. As was common in those days, the male heir inherited the larger portion to continue the family business of sheep, and the three females inherited 1 acre each. My paternal grandmother fondly recalls spending her summers exploring the flora and fauna and staying overnight in a small cabin that they called “Camp Joy.” My father, also used to visit this area during his youth and has many fond memories of when the family would “Hie to Kolob.” My grandmother, being too old to enjoy the place herself, wanted to sell her portion to someone who would be able to enjoy it in this life. She didn’t believe in restricting access to the wonderful and uniquely awe inducing land surrounding Zion National park. She knew humans are just mere stewards , temporarily living off the land that Mother Nature has so generously provided for. My father and mother also shared this vision so (with his sisters/cousins permission) he purchased her share and the two adjoining lots that were owned by his aunts and combined them so we could have a place to park our trailers in the summertime. The advent of the internet and the resurgence of people wanting to go somewhere with their families to experience the peace and tranquility one can only find in the wilds, led us to feel that sharing this slice of heaven was not only economical but the right thing to do. So much of Kolob and the surrounding areas are marked off by private property, owners who aren’t even there to enjoy it 99% of the time. So we felt divinely called to offer our humble slice of heaven to likeminded individuals, seeking tranquility and peace but for some cosmic reason didn’t stand to inherit private property in the middle of one of the most beautiful places on earth. So welcome friend. We only ask, as you leave this place, to please bring with you this spirit of abundance and joy to wherever you call home.

Great site amongst the Aspen trees and a view through the trees of the reservoir. We had three SUVs and three tents on the site with room to walk around and hang out at the campfire and picnic table. Not too close to your neighbors either.

This is our second time camping at the Wright family ranch and I have nothing but wonderful things to say! The views are outstanding, it feels like true camping that is close to town. I don’t think you could ever beat this location for camping in Zion.

Stayed here for a few nights, it’s got all the creature comforts, even a little dvd player above the tv. Bathroom was great and the view from the deck was amazing. Only a couple of things bothered me, the provided wifi did not work, which isn’t that big of a deal since cellphone service was generally good. The other thing is that there is a tent site directly next to it which did get occupied by a large group for 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there so you end up sharing the “backyard” so to speak. More of a nitpick than anything. Otherwise I would definitely come back. The town right across the bridge had a great Mexican food store and a very cozy coffee shop only a few minutes drive away too.

Beautiful little camp spot not far out of Zion. The thing that impressed me most was how nice the bathrooms and showers were. So amazing to come to after a long day of hiking. Very well kept.
Had I not been there to see the national parks, I could’ve easily spent the weekend at the camp site.

This site was great! We tent camped for two nights. Views were amazing and the site was comfortable. Be ready for a rocky unpaved road driving in, it wasn’t a problem for us but I can see that it could be difficult!

This camping spot was great! Peaceful and quiet with great views! Steve the host was very nice. Bathroom was kept clean and well stocked. I really liked the picnic tables at each site. They were plastic and not the usual worped wood ones. The tables had seating on all 4 sides. The tarpe over top was nice to protect from sun. It was a little over 30 minutes drive to Moab. We would stay here again and I would highly recommend this spot to camp!

OMG! What an amazing, unique place. Roy was THE most wonderful host, and even helped us with some car trouble. He has 2 wonderful doggies, and 2 very friendly burrows to pet, which made it special. He has unique setups for each camp spot and he has done all the work himself, placing every rock, creating every comfort for off grid camping. A composting out house, a triple sink with soak and potable water, a brisk shower... please visit Roy. Tell him Terri & Ted from Colorado sent ya!

Practically in the park. Plenty of dispersed campsites during our visit in mid-May. We enjoyed our stay at Bill's place very much. Easy drive to the valley. And just off Kolob Terrace Road, the route into Zion's Kolob Plateau backcountry.
