Welcome to The Wildflower at Western Legacy Farm and Ranch, Alton, UT. We specialize in authentic Cowboy Experiences, Adorable Farm Animals, and Destination Weddings/Events. When we aren't doing those things, we rent out our beautiful property to vacation rental guests. This mountain treasure sits on 180 acres and is centered between the majestic Zion National Park and breathtaking Bryce Canyon. This is one of three of our tiny guest cabins.
Our tiny cabins are idea for guests who want to be in nature, away from the crowds, but still close enough to get back on the road quickly. The cabin is one room, one bathroom. There is a deck with seating and beautiful views. Please note: there is not anything for cooking, storing, or warming food. Guests should plan to eat prior to arrival & will need a plan to purchase food in the morning.
Other things to note
Please note: Our tiny cabins DO NOT INCLUDE A KITCHEN. Guests should plan accordingly. Cabins do have a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and electric skillet. The nearest restaurants are 20-45 minutes away.
Also note: We first book our entire ranch to guests, then to fill in vacant nights we allow guests to book individual units, such as this is. When the ranch is split into smaller bookings, guests can expect to share the outdoor spaces such as garden, hen house, animals, pastures, etc. with guests renting the other units. Your cabin isn't shared. But the outdoor spaces could be.

The Provo River runs along the edge of the property, and the Uinta Mountains start climbing from here. Roam Uinta sits at the gateway to Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, a 42-mile road that crests at 10,715 feet and opens up some of the best alpine camping, fishing, and hiking in Utah. Kamas is the last supply stop before the cell service drops out and the high country takes over.
Full-hookup RV sites line the riverbank with 30/50-amp service. Cabins come equipped with full kitchens, linens, and queen sleeper sofas, because “roughing it” has a pretty wide definition. Monthly stays are available year-round for seasonal workers, extended travelers, and anyone who’s figured out they don’t want to leave.
The clubhouse, pool, and hot tub anchor the common areas. A basketball court for burning off energy. Starlink WiFi across the property (a real luxury this close to wilderness). Well-maintained bathhouses and direct river access for guests who want to fish before coffee.
This stretch of the Provo River is blue-ribbon trout water. Rainbow and brown trout push 18 inches. You can cast from the bank without leaving the resort, which is the kind of detail that turns a 2-night stay into a week.

One of our best features is the solitude and exposure to Mother Nature. Here, you won't find quiet hours, disruptive campers, or noise and light pollution. These sites provide the ultimate experience for those willing to go off the grid, off the main road, and into the backcountry. This space is where the tourist crowds disappear and the rugged, raw beauty appears.
As the crow flies, the property is just over three miles from the east boundary of Zion National Park. This land is where our family calls home and has been in the Lundgren family for four generations. It is still used for agriculture purposes today. In early June, you may see sheep grazing in the nearby meadows and mid-to-late summer, cows roam the area adding to the uniqueness of the experience.
This part of the country is home to textured red rock, blue skies, and numerous desert flora and fauna, making it an ideal spot for photographers. Some of the animals you might spot include owl, bear, mountain lion, bobcat, deer, coyote, turkey, snakes, lizards, as well as many different types of birds. There is very little light pollution making the night sky dazzling and unforgettable.

Jen’s Sheep Camp was the perfect calm spot for part of our family vacation. We played games that we brought as well as games that were already there: horseshoes, cornhole, and cards. The solar panel charger was great for charging cell phones. I saw deer twice: once in the middle of the night in the meadow (the moon was so bright!) and the next morning as one was walking right through camp. In fact the deer running across the meadow was maybe the loudest noise I heard during our stay. We had a great time looking for birds, and the hummingbirds were particularly entertaining to watch.
It was pretty chilly in the mornings (lows in the 30s), but we were perfectly cozy inside the camps. Having silverware, plates, cups, pots, etc. already there was a huge plus. The amenities with the peaceful surroundings made this the perfect quiet retreat.

Everything about this place is magical, but my favorite part is getting a hug from Rikki after a long drive and being able to rest knowing she exists.
I highly recommend walking by the water, checking out the peacock, eating your warm breakfast and then dipping in the nearby hotspring!

Stayed here for a few nights, it’s got all the creature comforts, even a little dvd player above the tv. Bathroom was great and the view from the deck was amazing. Only a couple of things bothered me, the provided wifi did not work, which isn’t that big of a deal since cellphone service was generally good. The other thing is that there is a tent site directly next to it which did get occupied by a large group for 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there so you end up sharing the “backyard” so to speak. More of a nitpick than anything. Otherwise I would definitely come back. The town right across the bridge had a great Mexican food store and a very cozy coffee shop only a few minutes drive away too.

The Cave House is a one of a king amazing home. We booked 1 night and stayed 2, and, we will come back and bring more friends. Grant was a very gracious host who kindly shuttled us back and forth to our van, as we could not drive up the drive without a 4 wheel drive. We hung out- we hiked out the back door, we played with the animals, we shared food and drink and stories. We slept well, Fantastic.

Grant’s cave really blew our minds, it’s such a cool and crazy place to stay and hang out, and even more impressive that Grant did it all himself. The surrounding landscape, swimming hole, horses, and serenity made it an awesome weekend trip. We also enjoyed that it’s right down the road from the infamous Hell’s Backbone Grill. Rikki is the best host you could ask for. She was so welcoming and always available for anything you needed. The cabin was cozy and warm even in December when we went. There is two cabins nearby but set up in a way that you hardly notice them as they are facing the river. Lots of cute geese, ducks, and chicken running around. We will definitely be back!

Rikki and her family made our experience amazing, from composing a song for my sons birthday to decorating our cabin and putting in decorated cake pops in the cabin to inviting us to some shaved ice and Introducing her amazing grandson to my son so they can get together and hangout with the atv, play with rvs, go horseback riding,just boys having boys fun, the cabin is great with every attention to detail, a fridge and microwave, games galore and great spots to swim and to fish, feeding the chickens and turkeys, bringing us delicious breakfast in the morning right to our cabin and even offering the propane BBQ for our cooking needs, the showers right across from the cabin and bathrooms are super clean, nothing is missing to the place, it's heaven. The whole family is invested in making sure that you feel welcome and have a great time! I wish I didn't have to leave, my son feels the same way! We are definitely coming back to this corner of the planet that just makes you happy because of the people as much as the amenities and how well maintained the cabin is. You feel like family as soon as you step in!! Thank you to the whole family, you made me fall in love with everyone and the whole place!

The directions Matt & Rachel provided were easy to follow, and the property was well-kept. We ended up switching to the Judah tent since another customer had canceled and Isaachar had a broken zipper that hadn't been repaired yet. It was a very peaceful place to spend the night!
