ENTRANCE TO OUR PROPERTY IS STRAIGHT NORTH AT THE END OF THE PAVEMENT. PLEASE DO NOT TURN LEFT ON SESSION LANE! We have ten acres that our home sit on but about 9 acres that consist of dry farm grass. We use 1 acre for camping and parking. The Weber river runs across the back of our property where we have a campground with tables and firepits. This is a family campground. We do not have Electrical Power or Water hookups. We have added 4 wooden porta potty enclosed in small tents which we service every day or as needed. Site selection is determined by type of sleeping accommodations and managements discretion. We have now have one tent areas and 1 RV spot. **We allow 2 adults per site and/or 2 adults and minor children per site. (Larger Family Gathering must be approved and pay extra based on the number of family or friends expected) WE HAVE A LIMITED FIRE BAN. ALL FIREWORKS ARE CURRENTLY STRICTLY PROHIBITED We are not a public campground and only list through Hipcamp and so our property is posted with NO TRESPASSING SIGNS. It is very important to let us know your approximate arrival time and call when you arrive. We will guide you down to the campgrounds and show you the best spots base on your type of camping. (Sleeping in trailers or van's versus tent campers) One draw back to our property is that we are within 1/2 mile of a well use highway (US 84) and railroad track. We have only had one camper who was concerned about the noise. Here at the house we don't notice it and maybe we are just use to it. Limited swimming and use of paddle board based on river conditions. Fishing is limited because we are on private property and the river is not stocked by the Utah fish and game. So, we are dependent on normal reproduction of the fish. Fly fishing being the best however you can use lures. Power bait or any bait that requires treble hooks are not allowed.. We would prefer catch and release. ALL UTAH FISHING REGULATION APPLY. WE HAVE INDICATED WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBLE. THE WHOLE AREA IS BASICLLY LEVEL AND GRASS AND BARK COVERED.

Welcome to Big Sky Country with fabulous sunrises and sunsets everyday. My 35 acres sit at 7500 ft elevation with 360-degree views for miles around, including view of the snow-capped Uintas. No neighbors (unless you count the occasional cattle or sheep as it is open range). Starry skies, red cliffs, sage seas, junipers, howling coyotes: the Wild West at its best. Pull in your RV or pitch a tent. Lots to see and do in the area. The Piedmont ghost town and kilns are 15 minutes away. The majestic Uinta mountains are 30 minutes to the southeast on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. Check out the local bison herd (including its famous white bison) at Bear River State Park in Evanston. While there, walk around the Historic Depot Area and the Union Pacific Roundhouse and Railyards further to the west. The downtown stretch along Main St. is step back in time and the site of our local brewery (Suds). Up the road on I-80 is historic Fort Bridger. Fishing available at local reservoirs and Bear River.

Experience the breathtaking beauty of this mountain paradise nestled in Utah. Situated adjacent to the Wasatch Peaks Private ski resort, this property boasts unparalleled access to natural splendor. I provide two trailers that will comfortably sleep 11 people. Renting my recreational vehicles are also an option. The trailers are all set up with bedding and sleeping accommodations, however because of the remote location we use outhouse instead of the trailers makes it possible to leave them on the mountain all summer.AT&T has incredible service at this spot to stay connected amidst the wilderness. Embrace off-grid living with no utilities, complemented by the convenience of an outhouse and gated entrance. You have to see this paradise in person to believe it! You could say it’s somewhat glamping because of all the amenities but you’ll feel like you never have before nature, the privacy and everything around you. There’s two massive fire pits, flat spots for tents, outdoor couch seating, it’s a great place to host a family gathering, big event, wedding, anything you can imagine. My husband Shaun and I fell into rescuing horses quite by accident. We started a non-profit to promote the Rescue, Rehab, Retrain and Rehome method to get horses out of bad situations and into good homes. We are a small rescue and hope to be much bigger one day! Please come visit, enjoy our beautiful property and support an amazing non-profit cause while you are at it! Learn more about this land: We are a non-profit horse rescue situated on one acre. The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep".  This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays.  The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other.  You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house.  If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses. PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Bathroom hours are 8am-9pm but limited due to our presence at home and work schedules depending on the day you stay.  Parking is located about 50 feet from the campsite, just off of the road.  You must walk a few seconds to get to the campsite and you cannot pull your vehicle right up to it. While we do welcome car campers and pop-up trailers, just know you won't be parked at the campsite if you choose to sleep this way.  We look forward to having you camp with us!

The Provo River runs along the edge of the property, and the Uinta Mountains start climbing from here. Roam Uinta sits at the gateway to Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, a 42-mile road that crests at 10,715 feet and opens up some of the best alpine camping, fishing, and hiking in Utah. Kamas is the last supply stop before the cell service drops out and the high country takes over. Full-hookup RV sites line the riverbank with 30/50-amp service. Cabins come equipped with full kitchens, linens, and queen sleeper sofas, because “roughing it” has a pretty wide definition. Monthly stays are available year-round for seasonal workers, extended travelers, and anyone who’s figured out they don’t want to leave. The clubhouse, pool, and hot tub anchor the common areas. A basketball court for burning off energy. Starlink WiFi across the property (a real luxury this close to wilderness). Well-maintained bathhouses and direct river access for guests who want to fish before coffee. This stretch of the Provo River is blue-ribbon trout water. Rainbow and brown trout push 18 inches. You can cast from the bank without leaving the resort, which is the kind of detail that turns a 2-night stay into a week.

East Canyon State Park camping guide

Overview

About

Surround yourself with a pioneer vibe in the mountains of Northeastern Utah. See part of the Mormon Pioneer Trail just a short drive from the reservoir.

There, you can imagine a line of Conestoga wagons trekking through untamed wilderness. Return to the lake for fun on the water after the short history lesson.

Launch your boat for a fun day of fishing, water skiing, swimming, or sunbathing. Rent a ski boat or pontoon if you don't have your own. Summer months can get crowded because of the popularity of the lake. Come here in early fall after the crowds dissipate a bit. It's still warm and you can have a bit more seclusion.

Remember, you're in a canyon and mountains. Hike to some of the nearby peaks for beautiful views of the valley below. Think of the fun you'll have in winter on your cross country skis or snowmobile. Ice fish after the lake freezes over completely.

Choose from 33 RV sites with hook-ups, or go with yurts for glamping. There are 78 campsites total.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early to secure your spot, as sites fill up quickly, especially during peak season.
  • Check for cancellations regularly, as plans change and spots may open up.
  • Consider weekday camping for better availability and a quieter experience.
  • Explore nearby camping options to ensure you have a place to stay during your visit.

When to go

The best time to visit East Canyon State Park is during the summer and early fall, when the weather is warm and the skies are clear for stargazing. Winters can be cold, and some facilities may be closed, so check ahead for seasonal accessibility.

Know before you go

  • Check the weather forecast and pack accordingly, as temperatures can drop at night.
  • Familiarize yourself with park rules and regulations to ensure a safe visit.
  • Bring water and snacks, as options may be limited within the park.
  • Remember to leave no trace and dispose of trash properly to preserve the park's natural beauty.
  • Accessibility information is available for those with special needs; inquire ahead of your visit.
