There are no close neighbors—unless you count the occasional cattle or sheep wandering through, since this is open-range country. By day, you’ll find wide-open sage seas, junipers, red cliffs, distant mountains, and plenty of that untamed Wyoming landscape. You may hear coyotes howling after sunset, and every now and then the faint whistle or rumble of a distant train carries across the open country—a wonderfully Western soundtrack to the landscape. And when night falls, the real show begins. With virtually no nearby light pollution, the dark night skies here can be spectacular. On clear nights, the Milky Way stretches across the sky, surrounded by more stars than you’ll ever see from town. Bring a chair, a blanket, or just lie back and enjoy one of the best features of being this far from civilization. This is the Wild West at its best—quiet, rugged, spacious, and wonderfully uncrowded. Pull in your RV, pitch a tent, and enjoy having a little piece of Wyoming all to yourself. Pull in an RV or pitch a tent. Rock hound or hunt for seashell fossils (especially closer to cliffs). Check out the night skies: no light pollution! Enjoy amazing sunrises and sunsets. 30-40 minute drive from Evanston. Lots to see and do in the area. The Piedmont ghost town and kilns are 15 minutes away. The majestic Uinta mountains are 30 minutes to the southeast on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. Check out the local bison herd (including its famous white bison) at Bear River State Park in Evanston (30 minutes away). While there, walk around the Historic Depot Area and the Union Pacific Roundhouse and Railyards further to the west. The downtown stretch along Main St. is step back in time and the site of our local brewery (Suds). Up the road on I-80 is historic Fort Bridger. Fishing available at local reservoirs and Bear River.

Gorgeous spot off grid. It was so peaceful and the set up was perfect. You have to drive about 11 miles on a dirt road to get there. It was such a beautiful drive.
