Rands property is a beautiful tranquil treasure just outside of busy Dallas. If you dislike how close you are to other campers in state parks and are looking for an alternative, this is the place to go. An additional bonus is Rand has a couple of kayaks and paddle boards you can use on the pond. This place is a treat and I highly recommend.

A group of us camped there for one night and we had the best of time. Rand is a gracious host providing clear instructions and directions. His property is beautiful and tranquil where you can hike and do water activities in the pond. We were there the day after Pink Full Moon and the sky was clear that was perfect for Star and moon gazing. We had two ladies who bought a new tent for this outing and they said they enjoyed every minute of it and look forward for another outing at the property.

Beautiful water, tree house, & property!! We celebrated my husbands birthday with friends and my kiddos kayaked and paddle boarded for first time. Randol was so helpful and hospitable providing life jackets and a sleeping mat when my inflatable mattress deflated. Just kind hospitality. We made it through the rain camping in a tent and lightning & made the best of it! Was a lot of fun & beautiful peace filled getaway. You will hear many animal noises at night that was definitely an experience ☺️

Nice experience with Lamas. Judy and other gentlemen were patient answering questions about the stay. Could have looked at the weather before going, had multiple times thunderstorms over the night. Weekend Trip to Texas Safari Camp

I have camped at Randal’s place many times but this was my first time sleeping in his treehouse. It looks very rustic and I loved the hummingbird stained glass window! The bed was comfortable and I slept well on it. It was a bit warm at night so I am glad to be able to use the electric outlet available to plug in my phone. A thunderstorm rolled in overnight but the treehouse was well insulated so no water got in. I definitely want to stay there again sometime!

We LOVED llama land ranch! It was the perfect getaway from Fort Worth for the weekend. Our campsite was tucked away from the other sites on either side of us so we didn’t feel like we were near others. Judy was so welcoming and responsive. The bathrooms are “NICE NICE NICE” as advertised and pretty cool as they are in a silo. The llamas, pups, and cats around the place were so much fun to be around. It was such a peaceful retreat for the weekend. We will definitely be back! Very family friendly or if you want to keep to yourselves that’s easy too :)

Hipcamp had a unique feel of being in the 70s again. We stayed the weekend and loved seeing the bluebonnets in full bloom. Very welcoming and relaxing. Glamping at its best.

The owners were very nice very helpful and responded quickly to every question and request that I. Also , there were caiacs available with paddles and fishing poles. Nice little chill area with a fire pit. An easy access to the lake.We loved it.

Texas Safari Camp was fantastic. We went as a group of 9 LGBT friends and we felt incredibly welcomed. Randall is a very kind and accommodating host who has been hosting campers on his property for decades. The property itself was lovely. There are two ponds on the property. We camped next to the back pond which was a bit of a hike with all of our gear, but the off-road carts provided make this much easier. We took advantage of the stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and swam in the main pond. It was a great time! The trails on the property are well maintained and nice to traverse. Would recommend this location and we will definitely be back again.

Welcome to Texas Safari Camp Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world. At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 900 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts (with as many as 40 people) for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and creating new friendships and memories. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House overlooks the front pond and features a queen bed, a smaller bed in the loft, electricity, lights, a fan, screened operable windows and outdoor table and chairs on the elevated deck. There is no heat or air conditioning in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink and faucet.

SAFTEY NOTES: The terrain is rocky and can be quite steep in places with some drop offs. Not recommended for small children or pets that are not well trained. We also share the land with lots of wildlife! Please be aware at all times and keep an eye out for snakes & spiders! You may also hear wild boars in the creek bed at night. SITE AMENITES `This site includes a 10x14, Kodiak' canvas tent that will be completely set up with the essentials including Water & Electric, bed & linens & outdoor chairs. We like to keep it super cozy but simple inside to make sure there is plenty of space for guest's personal things. Beautiful, secluded campsite, just minutes away from Navarro Mills Lake, this is the perfect campsite for hiking, fishing, kayaking, boating, tubing and any activity the lake has to offer. We have amazing wildlife in the area, deer, birds, squirrels, bobcats, raccoons, and hogs. We keep deer feeders on the property, and you could see the deer just before dark. BRING YOUR BOAT!! (One of the best Catfish & Crappie Lakes in Texas) The access to the lake is less than a 1/2 mile down the road, boat ramp. Fishing, swimming, exploring. You can fish the small pond on the property. Explore the property, In the evening if you’re quiet and from a distance you can probably watch the deer come to the feeders. Bring your mountain bikes, ride the county road. Star gazing at night. There are some targets around the place if you like target shooting. You will need your own guns and ammunition. This activity is at your own risk. Neighboring town, Malone is about 8 miles away. It's quite small but does have a convenience store, with ice, drinks, food, and worms for fishing. There is also a small-town bar with music and food. Hubbard is a nice little town about 15 miles away. It features small cafes, antique shopping, gas and a Sonic. The town of West is much larger and about 30 miles away. West features Czech Bakeries, & old town square shopping. Don’t forget mosquito spray, bedding, and drinking water. There is plenty of dead wood for fire, but you may want something to cut it into smaller pieces. Please don’t go too big or crazy with fire. Conditions can be very dry. Keep the wood burning fireplace in the tent to small fires please. Tents can fit 2 adults comfortably; bring your kids and sleep on floor or bring your own tent to set up for them. children are free no extra charge.
