Situated 15 minutes from the Port of Entry from Mexico, and 20 minutes from the only Texas casino, the Turtle Ranch is a great waypoint between a series of gorgeous South Texas adventure spots, like the mountains of Garner State Park, the Rivers of Seminole Canyon or the splendid isolation of Big Bend National Park. Originally this was a sheep ranch spanning 1000s of acres. Until the 1980s, migrant workers came to work the sheep, deliver the lambs, and sheer the mamas. In the 50s, the original owner built a small cabin near the main homestead for his oldest son and his new bride, hoping they would stay on to run the ranch, but as youth often do, they left in search of a different type of life. We were fortunate to have opportunity to purchase the cabin and expand to a 3 bedroom home using materials from the original 100+ years ranch house that we carefully dismantled. We moved in a small herd of Dorper sheep, in an attempt to restore some of the original feel of the ranch. Dorpers grow hair, not wool, so they shed and don't require shearing. We delivered our first lamb, Lyle, on February 10, 2021. Frick, our mighty Mexican longhorn bull, manages the small cattle herd that gives the ranch a real Texas feel. He's quite people friendly and loves to poke his head over the fence to pose for photos. The mighty tortoises that inspired the name of the ranch are Juke and Rocky, 30 year old brothers who weigh close to 200 lbs each and will likely outlive us. There are a number of other turtles, wild and domestic, on the property. Guests may feed the big torts and other animals for amazing photo opportunities.

For those seeking recreation, our property features a covered pickleball court, providing the perfect opportunity for friendly competition and outdoor fun. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, pickleball is sure to add an extra element of enjoyment to your stay at The Labyrinth. The court is shared with guest of the cottage. To access the property, pull in the first gate to circle around and pull through, when you exit, you can pull straight out through the gate in front of you. Throughout your stay, please use the second gate to come and go in order to minimize intrusion on guest at the cottage. You can leave the gate open. Please use local wood and confirm with Edwards County as to whether there is a fire ban or not. You have your private patio overlooking the river and there is a firepit there, River Cliff Trail. You have your private designated area, but there could be guest at the cottage and the river is not private. Please respect the neighbors by observing quite times from 10 pm - 10 am. Also, the river is yours to roam, but venturing very far off the river might be trespassing, unless of course, you are on the Labyrinth. You do not have access to the cottage yard area. Whether your idea of relaxation involves active pursuits or simply soaking in the beauty of nature, you'll find it all here at The Labyrinth. Camp Cold Springs is a newly renovated RV park situated on 14 acres along the Frio river with approximately 450 feet of Frio river frontage. Located 2 miles north of Garner State Park at 1101 Cold Spring Ranch Rd Concan, TX, we offer 50 full hookup RV sites with 30 and 50-amp connections available at every site. We have pull-through and back-in sites that either live in the shade or soak up the sun. There are two private river access points on the property for guests that lead you down to the cool, refreshing, gorgeous Frio River. Alongside the river, you will notice our spring-fed pond where many of our junior campers enjoy fishing. The river frontage at Camp Cold Springs is perfect for all ages with easy access walking down to the river. We have a large, generally flat, shallow area that is great for little ones to roam around or guests that enjoy lounging in the refreshing Frio waters. The rock island is enjoyed by our more adventurous guests that like to take an aerial approach into the river, while on the southern part of our river, guests enjoy the 2-4 foot deep swimming areas of the river. Camp Cold Springs is pet-friendly and has amenities such as a bathhouse, an office with a store, a basketball court, a volleyball court, and other lawn games.

Riverbend on the Frio is a family-friendly RV park with Cabins located on the crystal clear Frio River in Concan, TX. We have been welcoming campers since 1955, and we are proud to continue the tradition of providing our guests with a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Our campground has a rich history. It was originally founded by Harry Ritchie and many of our longtime returning families still remember the camp this way. The office building, where the suites are now located, was originally a bowling alley! It later became a café for campers and is now a gift shop to supply visitors with all of their river needs. The park was later bought by the Yeargan family in 1970. After the Yeargan’s owned Riverbend for over 40 years, we took over ownership of the campground and renamed it Riverbend on the Frio. We are committed to keeping all the fun, family, and friendly traditions alive that have made Riverbend a special place for so many people. We offer a variety of amenities to our guests, including: RV sites with water and electric hookups Indoor units with air conditioning, and kitchenettes Tent Camping (October-May) A playground A disc golf course Access to the Frio River Sand volleyball Watercraft rentals and a shuttle service Catch and release fishing pond We are also located close to many other attractions in the area, such as Garner State Park, Lost Maples State Park, and the town of Leakey. Our busy season is May-September. During these months the park will likely be full of life and many guests enjoying the welcoming Frio River. Our off-season is from October-April where the park is much more tranquil and guarantees to meet all of your needs for relaxation and seclusion. Everfree Shire Ranch is an 11 acre estate nestled between quiet country houses and a very active horse ranch next door to the east. Rescue horses are also kept on the property in rotation. Much of the camping here is still a work in progress! So for now, a very private economical choice for campers! The central building has indoor lodging available and the side bathroom with indoor toilet / washer / dryer may be used by campers as well. A new outdoor shower is 95% complete and usable but swimwear is required because we have not finished filling in the slots between the wood fence panels. The RV Dump station is also ready for use as well as the new outhouse! If you forgot to dump on the way out or need to before arriving, please use the free dump stations on I-35 near Natalia on either side of the highway.
