Casita In The Hills

11 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents14 acres · Pipe Creek, TX
As a young girl, I read "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. That book opened my eyes to a different way of living. From that moment on, I dreamed of one day living in big woods somewhere. As an adult, some of those dreams are coming true! We have Casita in the hills in Hill Country Texas! We are a small, beginner homestead and we'd love to share this journey with YOU! Donkeys and deer roam most of the property. We also are raising chickens, ducks, rabbits, a few pet goats and bees. We have camping spots, (2) rv electric hook ups and a small cabin to sleep in. Our property is on 14 acres. We have open pastures and forested areas. Whether you are seeking to escape the city hustle and bustle, or want a small taste of the homestead life, this is a great place to be! We are located about 35 minutes from San Antonio, 25 minutes from Boerne and 15 minutes from the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera, TX! We do have a visible neighboring property. Therefore there is the occasional barking, lights, and music that can be heard/seen. We hope you choose to stay here and enjoy your stay!

We are Rhonda and Carl Rubadue. We are happy, relaxed transplants to the Hill Country of Texas from the Intermountain West. Rhonda is glad to be here away from the snows and winters of Utah, whichwe had called home. Carl misses his 4 different seasons and appreciates thatRhonda helps him get his "winter fix" with a ski trip every year! After working behind a desk for decades as a Human Resources professional, Rhonda has embraced and adores our place here and is thrilled to share it with everyone! While Carl worked behind the scenes in many areas of the hospitality industry and obtained a Certified Executive Chef designation, he now looks forward to playing in the kitchen for just a few family and friends. Most of all Carl enjoys meeting our guests coupled with the time he gets to spend with Rhonda! From our first tour of this unique property, Walnut Canyon Cabins, we continue to be amazed at how lucky we were to find this stunning place and with everyone who walks through our doors! We have 2 great boys, 2 incredible daughters-in-law, and two wonderful grandchildren. We are truly blessed to have a place like this for them to come and unplug from their daily lives! Now we just need to get the grandkids closer so we can visit more often! We continue to be thrilled to live in and get to know this beautiful Hill Country of Texas and look forward to meeting all y'all as you are exploring or just relaxing in this wonderful area known as "The Hill Country".

Texas Sage Campsite and Cabin

1 site · Lodging5 acres · Pipe Creek, TX
This hill has been called "healing hill" because of how peaceful the sunsets are. You literally melt away when you sit out on your lawn chairs and watch the sun go down. Coyotes yap and howl a little out in the distance, and a rabbit is sure to come darting across the yard when the Texas sun begins to set. The cabin sits on 5 acres, but we ask that you stay at your campsite. The site is located with other cabins and houses, so you will not be alone, but everyone is polite and friendly. Hiking is not available on the property, but there is plenty of outdoor activity near by: Hill Country State Park, Bandera City Park, Medina Lake, Medina River. Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park is a reasonable drive away to make a day trip. The property is available for glamping and the cabin features a walk-in bedroom with spacious bathroom. You are welcome to pitch your tents and have access to the cabin as well. The cabin sleeps two people, but if you pitch tents, you can have more registered guests for an additional fee of $10 a person. Please ask first, so I can adjust the guest limit BEFORE you arrive. This is South Texas, so occasionally burn bans come into effect. Please be aware of this and with each booking I will keep you alerted to whether or not the fire pit is available for use. In the case of a burn ban, you may choose to stay without fire or find another spot (burn ban in one location is burn ban in all the county). Please feel free to ask questions.
