RJ and Samantha were attentive, responsive hosts. The property was beautiful and close to the San Gabriel River. The camp kichen and showers were a great feature. And I got to meet their horse Ginger! I recomend it.

We had the best time at McDonald’s Farm! From splashing in the river to hanging out fireside this is the spot! Our kids loved seeing the pigs, chickens, and horse, as well as exploring the property. The hosts were amazing! They had a great spot for making coffee set up for us and always were quick to answer questions and assist our group. Thanks for a great weekend!

We have been to many glamping sites in TX but I have not seen such a beautiful site with a high elevation view. The host made it extra special sending us a small gift to celebrate our anniversary.. A beautiful night under the stars that you won't forget!

My pups and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay! The experience exceeded my expectations. We loved how much thought and consideration the hosts put into everything. The description was accurate and informative and the host was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the private river access. It was peaceful and rejuvenating; we will definitely stay here again! My dogs didn’t want to leave. We saw a few snakes, carp, raccoon and deer by the river but bugs were not an issue. Cell service (T-Mobile) was a little spotty at the river, not bad though. The outdoor shower was nice to be able to clean up after playing in the river with my dogs. Definitely check out the little farm stand while you’re there! There were fresh eggs and jellies for sale when we were there.

Camp ground was very convenient for our family of 5. Kids range from 7-5 and they had a blast. The loved the swing tree, donkey, longhorns, and building a camp fire. The shower water was hot and the restroom was primitive, but clean and taken care of. Since this was our first time tent camping as a family I didn’t want to go far from home… we live in Drip and didn’t realize this place existed. We will absolutely be back in the future! Thank you!!

There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife. Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. Weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for a refund or change of reservation for this campsite. Cellular service is limited here. AT&T provides a good signal in this area. HOWEVER **** SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE may have “VERY POOR” or “NONEXISTENT” cellular signals at this site. We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am. The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area. If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. The specific location and other check in details will be provided to you on the day of your scheduled arrival, and after housekeeping and campsite make-ready is complete. Most any car should be just fine for accessing the campsite, except in the case of very wet weather. Guests are not allowed to use firearms or fireworks on this property.

There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). I have 3 cats, 11 chickens, 2 little donkeys and sweet 4 mini goats here at my little and funky 'farmette' right on Williamson Creek (sometimes flowing and not really swimmable) and next to a huge wooded greenbelt with a quiet and unused nature trail. This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities. Highway 29 and the many quaint and scenic country roads that intersect it is popular with cyclists wanting to go for longer rides and enjoy the sights of central Texas and the many historical farms in the area. There is excellent bird-watching and wildlife-viewing opportunities on the property. We frequently see white-tailed deer, as well as other wildlife and many species of birds. There is road noise. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. We also have neighbors, so we request quiet hours after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday.
