Picture yourself immersed in the soul of classic Central Texas, a place where the land's exceptional beauty converges amidst the serene embrace of ancient cottonwood trees by the Lampasas River. As you relax on your private deck, perched high above the juniper, pecan, and oak-filled valley, the very essence of the land envelops you. The choice is yours - conjure culinary magic on your suite's commercial induction cooktop, or be drawn to the primal allure of an open fire at the rock fire pit. And when the day surrenders to night, don't just look up; lose yourself in the vast tapestry of stars, for at Lost Horizon, they are an awe-inspiring masterpiece.
Life Flourishes in Abundance, Both Exotic and Native
Here, life thrives abundantly, with exotic and native companions who roam freely, sharing their tales amidst the symphony of nature's melodies. As you drift into slumber, the coyotes' haunting serenades weave the dreams of the land, and with the dawn, the fervent chorus of birds and the graceful presence of deer awaken your soul.

The suite, cocooned in privacy and tranquility, is a testament to comfort.
A Glamping Paradise Amidst Nature's Embrace
The suite itself is a marvel, an insulated, heated, and air-conditioned glamping tent, elevated 6 feet above the earth on a splendid 26'x48' deck that extends a warm welcome. Every need has been considered, from the on-site EV charger socket to the abundant hot and cold purified rainwater, fueled by 95% solar power with the reliability of a power grid backup. Queen-size Helix mattress and noiseless frame ensure deep, restorative slumber.
There's room for your guests too, with a full-size pullout sofa-bed and ample space for overland vehicles or tents on the property, allowing everyone to find their perfect retreat.
The full bath unveils its magic with a shower and a generous soaking tub. The entire roof lifts off with a simple switch by the tub, offering you an intimate encounter with the open sky while you luxuriate in the tub or shower.
The stocked kitchen, a delightful realm of culinary possibilities, boasts an induction cooktop, coffee and tea essentials, salt, pepper, olive oil, a water kettle, and a coffee pour-over set.

Explore, Experience, and Discover
Fly fishing, kayaking, limited hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife encounters await, offering immersive journeys into the heart of this living tapestry. And when you yearn for modern conveniences, H-E-B Plus in Copperas Cove is just a scenic 20-minute drive away.
[Update August 23] An enhancement to your comfort - we've upgraded to a 24k BTU MrCool Mini-split AC, specially designed to conquer the extremes of Central Texas weather.
Your Private Retreat, Tucked Away in Serene Seclusion
To clarify, the Satau suite, though not right by the river and the old cottonwoods, resides in a secluded valley within the ranch. The journey to the private riverfront is a brief 3.5-mile drive, still within the ranch's enchanting confines, eliminating the need to leave this captivating land and granting you unmatched opportunities to embrace the beauty and wildlife that grace Lost Horizon.
One last thing, the only "chore" that we ask of our guests is to take the trash out of the tent and deposit it in the bin on your way out and that's only to help prevent critters from trying to get in! There's none of that long chore list stuff - you're here to relax, not work. :-)
