Easy access spots, small ghost town to check out and take photos if you would like. Only a minute from town. 50 amp hookups. Water and restroom in the ghost town. Washer and dryer in restroom. I stumbled across this awesome place just before covid shut us all down. It was hidden in the middle of overgrown brush and not visible from the street. That didn't matter, it was love at first sight! We tried to come on the weekends and work on clearing but it wasn't enough so we moved out here last year and have made it not only a home but a fun place to live and share with others.

There is public access to Turtle creek nearby (walking distance) at the local 'Swimming Hole'. Please be respectful of parking & pack your trash if you choose to visit the creek.
The Hitchman Homestead is a working farm - so guests can expect to hear Chickens, Roosters & Turkeys. There will be noise from the workshop during working hours 8am - 7pm most days. We host a public open house known as 'My Sunday Drive' for visitors to our farm on the First Sunday of each month.
Animals: Chickens, Turkeys & dogs. The dogs are friendly and contained. There are also several barn cats on-property. There are friendly goats across the street. We have a large herd of Axis deer that visit frequently, along with Rabbits, Squirrel, Fox and a variety of wild birds. We also have two (currently unoccupied) beehives. It is not unusual to encounter bees or butterflies foraging in-season.

Here at Riverside RV Park we have everything you need for your visit. Bring your RV to one of our 78 full-hookup sites and we will provide everything you need. Our rates are very reasonable starting at just $40 for daily, and primitive tent camp sites are available starting at $35 per night.

The Hitchman Homestead is a working Homestead, workshop, farm and coffee roastery.
Located in the Upper Turtle Creek Area of the Texas Hill Country - we are about 7 miles south of Kerrville in a scenic Wooded area near the Creek. Rockstack camp has a view of the surrounding Rock-Walls and native wildflowers.
The two RV sites in our private 'Rockstack Camp' are available for vacationers or longer-term stays.
Guests have access to our Covered Wagon Picnic area, Restroom & Laundry Facilities. You are welcome to interact with our Chickens & Turkeys. Ask for guided tours to the garden, greenhouse, range, coffee roastery or workshop. We have a rustic B&B meals service available for a fee. Guests may also purchase Fresh Farm eggs, Coffee, seasonal produce or Fresh Home Baked goods.
There is public access to Turtle creek nearby (walking distance) at the local 'Swimming Hole'. Please be respectful of parking & pack your trash if you choose to visit the creek.
The Hitchman Homestead is a working farm - so guests can expect to hear Chickens, Roosters & Turkeys. There will be noise from the workshop during working hours 8am - 7pm most days. We host a public open house known as 'My Sunday Drive' for visitors to our farm on the First Sunday of each month.
Animals: Chickens, Turkeys & dogs. The dogs are friendly and contained. There are also several barn cats on-property. There are friendly goats across the street. We have a large herd of Axis deer that visit frequently, along with Rabbits, Squirrel, Fox and a variety of wild birds. We also have two (currently unoccupied) beehives. It is not unusual to encounter bees or butterflies foraging in-season.

Boulderdash is quite amazing! We usually camp in tent campsites because we have a tiny camper, and we don't like to be among huge RVs. Boulderdash is a quite small campground but the design is great and RVs do not face each other and are not lined up, so everybody has privacy.
We stayed for the first two nights in the RV site 3, and for the last night we moved to tent site 1 by the river. The tent campsites are the best for who likes nature. While they don't have water or power at the campsite itself, they have a great outdoor washing area with potable water, electricity and a picnic table. There's a port-a-potty besides the bathrooms on the hilltop.
Our campsite had a fire ring, a grill, a great picnic table, and you're steps from the river. Water was pretty low but it was running because there are some springs that feed into it.
Everything at Boulderdash is well thought out, the bathrooms are super clean and cute, shower is FANTASTIC! Every picnic table has a flower arrangement and a jar of corn to feed the deer, and a small shop. Wi-fi made camping bearable to our teenage daughter.
Also fantastic are the hosts: Carole-Anne is super friendly, and received us with a pumpkin bread that she baked to all campers who were there on thanksgiving. That really set the tone right. She was super accommodating to our requests, and is just an overall nice person.
Their dogs and cats are super sweet, as are the deer that come every day to get sone corn.
We had a wonderful time!

My fiancé asked to go camping for her birthday, and we settled on this place. We showed up in the dark to our tent sight because she wanted to get her hair done that day also (don't ask), and because we weren't familiar with the area, we asked a local sheriff's deputy for directions. He told us where to go, but we accidentally ended up in sight 7 instead of 1 (our fault, it was dark). We realized our mistake the next morning and called the front desk, and they were incredibly kind. We insisted we'd pack up and move, but they didn't care, as nobody else had site 7 booked. We enjoyed a great time of calm walking trails and lovely scenery. My fiancé had never seen a ring-tailed cat, but we saw one fight over a tree with a couple squirrels! (Fun to watch for me). Long story short, this is a great, calm place for RV, camper, and tent sites. Btw, site 7 for tents is the best one. It has a table, water spicket, porta-potty (very clean), and is right next to a trail entrance.

A very quiet, private amd well equipped HipCamp that is far enough from “civilization” to be properly restful, and close enough to Fredericksburg (14 miles) to make it a great base to explore the wonderful Hill Country. We would definitely return.

We had a great stay. Tent site 2 has lots of room and plenty of shade. It’s a short walk down the hill to the river. Having the sink and porta potty down near the site made life much easier. The facilities up top are nice. Having cornhole there to play was a lot of fun and one less thing to bring. We’ll definitely be back.

Lyn & Carol-anne are incredible hosts and have one of the choicest plots of land along the Medina. Our favorite part was using the tubes they have available on site to float and soak in the sunshine. They have a lot of essentials on hand to buy if you forget something. We will be back :)

Stunning. My dog loved it! We saw many animals amazing place to get back in touch with nature, Good fishing, snorkeling was amazing, the camp site is well maintained, flat places for the tent. Trees were perfect for our hammock. Walk to the water is like three minutes with some rocks.The water is so clear, feel clean and wonderful, and its at its highest late spring, early summer. We went in September and it was deep enough to snorkel in.
The night stars were so clear in this area!
The owners were so nice. They stock the bathrooms with nice things. I would recommend

Bf and I went for an anniversary. It was just a little hard to find, but Carol-Anne explains all that online. I did love the amount of detail provided to campers before arrival, since I’m a planner and like to know the fine details of what a trip will be like environmentally. Carol-Anne was so kind!!! She has an amazing personality and let us do our thing while making sure we were informed. You can feed deer, borrow a hammock, get tinder and firewood, access a ton of nice optional amenities, and just enjoy being outdoors. Our spot was PERFECT. The site was closer to the neighboring site than I thought, but far enough away that the loud college kids didn’t really bother us. We arrived at 8 and got set up after the easiest check-in ever, found our spot, got situated, and there was a fire pit, a picnic table, complementary wildlife food, a nearby potty with cool facts about the place and owners, a softly lit tap sink and hose water and charging station that had a citronella candle, and a short walk from the site through some rocks to the river. The pictures do not do it justice! It was breathtaking, so fun to explore, had a nice bluff, tubing and swimming opportunities, space to sit and read in the water, and enough peace and privacy for a romantic getaway. It was priced well, too! It was so cool to share some love in a tent listening to the river or night swimming watching fishies, finding fun rocks, and being with like-minded folks with such positive energy! We’ll be back!

Camping at Boulderdash was awesome and beautiful, very short walk to the river, the porta potty and wash station near the tent sites were perfect. There is a lot of room for activities and a lot of river to walk. We booked for 2 days but unfortunately the weather had other plans after the first night, we ended up needing to pack up and leave but carol anne was very understanding and definitely wanted to to feel safe in our decisions to stay or go. We will be back later this year when the weather cools again to enjoy this place to the fullest !! You won’t regret your booking here!
