The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife. Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. Weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for a refund or change of reservation for this campsite. Cellular service is limited here. AT&T provides a good signal in this area. HOWEVER **** SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE may have “VERY POOR” or “NONEXISTENT” cellular signals at this site. We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am. The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area. If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. Memmie’s Farm is a special 30 acres just outside of Bandera, TX on the Medina River! We hope bring love and energy to this beautiful piece of family property by opening it up to visitors who embrace the outdoors. At the designated tent camping sites, you will find oak groves that provide opportunities for shade. The RV sites are in a picturesque field that provides excellent views of the sunset. The field leads down to incredible cypress trees lining the Medina River. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot. If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park! At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights. Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

We had a great time at Boulderdash! The camp site was clean with plenty of shade, a picnic table, and community sink/bathrooms. My kids loved climbing the boulders, playing in the river, and searching for deer. It was a perfect little getaway from Austin for the weekend. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Brown Chicken Brown Cow Ranch

This was a lovely spot to camp. The land was beautiful and very convenient to Enchanted Rock. Michelle was very hospitable and kind. The portable restroom was exceptionally clean and convenient. We only interacted with the cattle when Michelle invited us to feed them. Cell service was strong on the property. We unfortunately had severe weather in the middle of the night, and we appreciated that she reached out during the storm via text to check on us. There were unfortunately ant hills throughout our campsite, but it is their home after all. They did bite, so I’d advise wearing closed-toed shoes. We would have appreciated clearer signage marking our campsite, as the map was only marginally helpful and we felt the need to confirm with Michelle that we were in the right spot before unloading. Overall, Michelle was lovely to stay with.

We loved the land, critters, bird songs -- and despite the rainy weekend (in early April, it's to be expected), everything timed out perfectly for us to get some sun and set up in between the showers, then we'd shelter in the tent and relax for a bit til it passed. It's so good to get away and unplug, even if only a couple nights at a time :) I must say: yes 10/10, would recommend, but be aware, with recent drought conditions and the new wave of rain we got, the creek was fun to look at, spot different fish, etc., but it wasn't trickling enough for me to get in it personally. But the state park with swimming is super close if that's a concern. It didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves!

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the river. We actually did car camping in one of the RV sites. I would love to explore more of the primitive camping. It was beautiful in the trees. The owners came by often to check, especially after a thunderstorm. We definitely stay again.

The gorgeous, green/blue water of the Llano River is perfect for a quick dip to cool off, or in February, a refreshing way to start the day!

Nice access to river. Stars were awesome! Friendly people that work there. Cool dirt roads to explore. A couple of river crossings. Saw a jack rabbit that was huge! Guess I never saw one. lol. Will go back!

We had a great time. The camp was very secluded and peaceful and truly worth the effort to get to it. Must have a truck with clearance to get there. The host has it set up with lots of conveniences. Plenty of area to explore with lots of hiking opportunities. Swimming hole is awesome!

We have an 18' travel camper and we were able to tuck it into site 2 pretty easily. We enjoyed our site and especially the great metal fire pit! Just perfect. We could hear some highway noise, but it wasnt bad. We will definitely be back. I definitely recommend this for family tent camping. Only one portapotty, but there are so few campsites, i think it would work. Just a great hideaway spot to camp but close to everything.

Our trip to Laf Ranch was great! We stayed at The Ladder and felt that it was a beautiful campsite, it felt private and really enjoyed having the swimming hole right next to us. Fritz was a great host and very friendly and gave us good information about the ranch. If you enjoy off roading as well this site has some good trails, we drove up the ridge road and really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this spot!

2 nights at Camping Near Hamilton Pool

Loved our stay on Sherrie and Johnnie’s property! Beautiful spot and a quick drive away from Hamilton pool and Reimer’s ranch! We were the only ones camping there for the weekend so Johnnie let us have our pick of the campsites. They have such a charming property with hammocks and tables and even an outdoor shower with warm water. Very hospitable hosts, Johnnie checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well. We will be back!!
