About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. Come stay in our sweet semi off grid cabin just between Austin and Marble Falls Tx. Near beautiful Lake Travis. Upon arrival you can park in the flat dirt driveway in front of the boat. The trail up to the cabin begins right there. There’s a short somewhat steep hike from the parking area by the road up to the cabin. Again the trail is steep and approximately 30 yards long. Keep this in mind because your belongings will have to be carried up the trail. If you have 4x4 you can drive up top closer to the cabin. This is a glamping experience and you will need sleeping pads, bags and pillows. We do not provide bedding. The cabin sleeps 4. 2 on the futon and 2 (preferably kids sized humans) up in the loft. There is electricity but no running water, so bring water. There a/c heat and a mini fridge/freezer. Also a sweet vintage hifi system with a good vinyl collection. It also had Bluetooth capability. Turkey Bend recreation area on Lake Travis it’s just a couple of miles down the road. Marble Falls and Austin are both about the same distance away approximately 17 miles. Hidden Falls adventure Park is approximately 7 miles away. Lago Vista Texas is the closest city with restaurants and gas stations and grocery stores. This property is on a dirt road and light pollution in minimal so this is a great place to stargaze! The parking area is also dirt and somewhat uneven. Weekend Trip to Magical Lakefront Retreat Property

Very beautiful property and really nice accommodations. Loved the hammock swings. The fridge is more of a small fridge rather than a mini fridge which was nice. Between the grill and electric cooktop you can cook whatever!

The resort exceed expectations from the accommodations, where we visited several of the cabins and pods, to the scenery, and the ultimate privacy for a week in the hill country. We are already planning our return visit.

3 nights at Seco Ridge Campgrounds

My two sons, dog, and I stayed in The Bunkhaus and had a really wonderful time. Our family has been going through some rough times and I was looking for a place where we could spend time together and find peace. It was a bonus that we could bring our 16-month old rescue dog with us as he is our first dog and very spoiled. He was a little over protective but everyone we met was very kind about it. The property was exactly what we needed - far away from city life but also with the amenities to make it an easy place to go and unwind. Also, having Garner and Lost Maples (two very dog friendly spots) nearby was so convenient. We were delighted to be able to swim and hike with our pup. All of us agreed that this was a great trip and that we want to come back to The Bunkhaus. Thank you to Woody and his family for their hospitality and kindness to my family.

Weekend Trip to Cowboys and Angels RV Park & Cabins

Our cabin was clean and fun. There were deer on the property. The host was friendly. After full dark the stars were bright and light pollution was minimal. The town of Ingram was 20 minutes away and had a nice coffee shop and some good restaurants. The views and scenery around the camp were lovely.

3 nights at The Charmadillo: Glamping Resort

This place was wonderful! So cute and comfortable with lots of amenities on site. The star-gazing is insane here! We also enjoyed the sauna and a dip in the cowboy pool. Close to fun attractions for outdoor adventures. Great coffee in town at Central Provisions in Center Point. We'd love to come back sometime!

2 nights at Hill Terrace

The owners treated us as family! Made sure our grandsons had access to kayaks, canoes, basketball court, everything! They had ice and cold water bottles waiting for us at the cabin. The cabin was fully stocked with all essentials as well as movies, magazines, games, & coffee. Cabin was adorable and so comfy. Loved it being so close to the river. We will definitely return! We ended up staying at Cabin 3 instead of cabin 1.

Private A-frame nestled in the woods. Privacy was amazing. The A-frame and amenities are exactly as described. Unique experience camping + mini A-frame. Would highly recommend!

3 nights at Seco Ridge Campgrounds

Seco Ridge has been our family's favorite spot for a couple of years. We've always tent camped here, but this was the first time we stayed in the Bunkhaus, and it was great! The property has lots of trails for walks, biking trails, various sitting spots, and a beautiful sunset view spot! We also love that it's smack dab in the middle of Garner and Lost Maples state parks. The community kitchen is a great perk too. It's fun to hang out at the picnic tables, play games, and meet other campers. Each camp site has plenty of space so you never feel on top of people. Lots of trees for hammocks too. Woody is a great host, and I always come back from here relaxed and refreshed.

Weekend Trip to Seco Ridge Campgrounds

Great experience. Host was very nice and accommodating, providing firewood and his own fire starters. Kids enjoyed the plethora of activities (ie basketball, disc golf, feeding chickens, goats, etc). Garner State Park is not far if looking for top notch hiking trails. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to SKYE Texas Hill Country Resort

Booked last minute, incredible spot! Shana the manager even let me in and took me to my cabin after she was off. Quiet, pup friendly, wild life was beautiful. The maintenance manager even filled up my tire w air. Shana the manager even helped me w some unforeseen van rental issues. Sunrise & sunsets here are spectacular and the only glow at night are the stars.

2 nights at HomeAway Ranch & Wildlife Preserve

I stayed in the Lindavista Cabin and the pictures don't do it justice. The inside of the cabin is completely styled in luxury country chic. You'll find a giant LCD television in the living area, stainless steel appliances, lcd-enabled mirrors in the two full bathrooms with wraparound glass showers (one on each floor), a huge two-person jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom upstairs, remote controlled air conditioners and fans on each floor, a private balcony off of the master bathroom, and a fully enclosed sunroom off the master bedroom that could also be used as an additional bedroom for more guests. Even the kitchen faucet has an LED light that shines from the water to let you know whether the water is hot or cold. There's a comfortable little porch at the door of the cabin, and I was visited by an entire group of 9 or 10 adorable goats a couple of times each day! The cabins on this property are spaced pretty close together, but the owners did an excellent job of arranging them so that the cabins do not directly look into each other, a relief since there are no curtains in any of the many windows of this cabin. There was a small hiccup on check-in time (Hipcamp said 2pm but the owners told me 3pm not long before I arrived), but otherwise I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing, peaceful, and luxurious stay.

Weekend Trip to Dos Rios - Hill Country Adventure

We stayed in Cabin 13 and absolutely loved it! It had more amenities than we expected- a bathroom with towels, a kitchen with dishes, DVDs to choose from, etc. It was quiet and felt very safe and well tended to. We plan on going back again soon! My kids and I had a great time- my dog too!

James's wild bill’s cabin was real cozy. The star gazing was great and so was watching some of the wildlife grazing around the property. Speaking of grazing their pizzas are delicious overall it was a great experience would definitely recommend staying overnight!

Perfect hybrid camping spot where you can rough it without plumbing while enjoying a cozy indoor with electricity. Complete with a perfect campfire setup and gas grill if you choose. My boy and I actually pitched a tent on the deck, which was perfect!
