Our location is phenomenal we are an hour from Knoxville and Asheville and just about 1/4 mile off I-40. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there.
This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not too needy. Hurricane Helene brought unforecasted changes in the land but the tranquility of the River remains. We have worked to restore as much as we could. As for us it’s still our happy place in the Smoky Mountains!

Visitors have access to 2 swimming pools (seasonally), 2 mountain streams, a lake, basketball courts, tennis, mini golf, horseshoe pits, shuffle board court, game room, and activities center. Bath house is close to the site, should you need to use the facilities. Coin-operated laundry facilities are also available at the campground.
The HOA does charge a one-time $10 pet fee upon check-in at the office, and is separate from anything I collect.

Our location is phenomenal we are an hour from Knoxville and Asheville and just about 1/4 mile off I-40. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there.
This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not too needy. Hurricane Helene brought unforecasted changes in the land but the tranquility of the River remains. We have worked to restore as much as we could. As for us it’s still our happy place in the Smoky Mountains!

If you're okay with it being a little outside of town, this is a great place. Very quiet, clean and a very pretty open view. A gorgeous creek flowing and a very well built bridge to get into the campground.
Lots of deer.
All around we were impressed.
Would be nice to have wifi but it definitely wasn't a deal breaker for us.
Though trash needs to be picked up a little more often.

Sunset Ridge near Del Rio, TN is a true hidden gem perched high on a ridge with sweeping 50-mile western views of untouched American wilderness. From towering 6,000+ ft Smoky Mountain peaks to dense pine forests, deer, bears, and classic backwoods charm, this spot delivers the authentic mountain experience. Like many Hipcamp sites, you’ll drive through a few “interesting” areas to get there, but it’s absolutely worth the short detour off I-40. Hurricane Helen repair work continues in the region, so expect minor delays—but nothing that should deter your stay.
The site itself is well laid out with a reliable 50-AMP hookup (30-AMP rigs should bring an adapter), two properly placed sewer connections for easy access, and a well-pump water source offering around 15–20 psi. We found that perfectly adequate for daily use, or you can fill your onboard tank and enjoy a stronger 40–50 psi via your RV’s pump.
A cozy two-person swing overlooks the valley and is perfect for sunrise coffee or sunset photos. The spacious gravel circular driveway provides plenty of room for multiple vehicles and offers simple, level parking. Nights were peacefully quiet, with only the sounds of the woods around you. The paved road network above and around the property makes for great short hikes and even better sunset views. A firepit, available WiFi, and open sky complete the experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking solitude, scenery, and Smoky Mountain magic. We will definitely be back soon.

Our stay at John's place at Sunset ridge was wonderful. Very private and quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains and, yes, sunsets. Easy in and out with room for two campers if you want to have a friend join. We highly recommend this site. When I asked for local suggestions they shared a great list. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer.

Great experience! Mark was communicative from the start, suggesting directions it just for us coming from NC but also for our family coming from TN. He was super flexible when our arrival time changed, and even started a fire for us before we arrived!! This spot was exactly the breath of fresh air I needed. The sites were beautifully maintained, the views were stunning, and the hosts were wonderfully communicative. I ended up extending my stay—twice! I even caught the northern lights during the solar flares, which made the whole experience feel magical. From the minute we arrived, Mark was there ready to show us around & help with anything we needed. He brought us firewood, home grown peppers & homemade pickled jalapeños. He had water for us there, as well as a fully stocked “market” where we bought chips, ice & popsicles. The spot was perfect for our group of 5. We had plenty of room, a picnic table & a fire pit. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for a private camping experience close to the Smokies.

very cozy and clean campsite - had everything we needed! we really appreciated the bath house with hot water for freshening up. we only stayed one night but would love to come back for longer!
