During the day, feel welcome to walk the serene meadows or take a cleared trail up the ridge to the treehouse! If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. 40 acres Located in beautiful Dover TN 5 miles from Lake Barkley & the Cumberland River. Conveniently located a few miles from town, far enough that it is quiet, but close enough that it is not a long trip to town. The property features a variety of thriving wildlife due to our fresh water stream that gently flows through the property year round. The stream is roughly ankle to hip deep depending on the area. The water is crystal clear and safe to play in if you have little ones. Walk along the stream and discover all kinds of fish, turtles, beautiful river stones and possibly see a beaver or 2. If you have Archery equipment, you can use our Archery Range. The property is split by a 2 lane road. 7 acres to the North and 33 acres to the South. The smaller side is flat with many trails, fresh water stream and a gravel road. It features relatively junior trees and is home to a family of Whitetail Deer. The Southern side of the property features a mature hardwood forest full of giant white oak trees. Be sure to put on your hiking boots though, because there's a few Hills to climb. Three hills that form a beautiful valley in the center, with another fresh waterstream. The valley was once home to a 1700s settlement, so you may find some artifacts. (We just ask that you leave them where you find them.) Main trails are marked clearly with large reflectors for safety. With the near-by wildlife refuge you are sure to see and hear a variety of wildlife. We have large steel firepits in every campsite. So feel free to bring your own firewood! Enjoy a good book or nap while relaxing in a hammock. Swing with a loved one while over looking the fresh water stream. Walk down along the stream and collect rocks, feed the fish, or go for a dip! Currently our property is very Primative, whichever there is no electricity or plumbing. We do offer clean composting toilets & a locking gate at night for your security. **Cellular service is limited in some areas. Signal can be found by the road, or cross the road and take the trail up the 1st hill**

Great stay! The Hipcamp is across a small creek from Elisabeth’s house, on a rural road. You still have a good sense of privacy, even though you are relatively close to the house. The location is perfect - it’s about 20 minutes to downtown Nashville. It was a perfect balance of proximity to an urban area, and having an easy access rv spot that is safe and comfortable. We required minimal leveling. Elisabeth was incredibly helpful in providing recommendations for our stay. I asked a few questions, and she went out of her way to provide multiple recommendations that were real winners. We attended a music venue she suggested and it was so unique - we loved it! She was terrific in communication. We did not meet her, which I think is an indication of her respecting visitor’s privacy. The water and electric worked great. If you are looking for a hub while you visit Nashville, this is a great spot. We’d gladly return.

Elisabeths cute little spot is great! Directions were perfect, we had no trouble finding it in the dark. She has solar lights that line the space, so backing in was easy. The site is level, has a picnic table & fire pit with chairs set up. It was raining for our stay, so we did not use either…but would have if the weather was nicer. Walked our dog around the property area and up the road in the morning, which was not busy. This Hipcamp was perfect for our roadtrip and one night stop to check out Nashville.

Great area to explore and thankful for a safe location to park the rv with hookups. Jenny and Tim made everything feel like home. They were closeby and helpful when needed however allowed for privacy . The dogs were able to explore the field and be a little feral in nature.

this place was perfect for our 25ft rv and our dogs! they enjoyed the wide open space and were very interested in the goats and chickens. the space was a little less private than i would prefer but it wasn’t an issue at all. robert was very nice and attentive, we loved this site and will definitely be back!

By the time we arrived, it was already dark. The host came to meet us and guided us to our site. Once we were set up, she checked to see if we needed anything further. The bathrooms and shower were very clean. We departed early in the morning. My only regret is not being able to see it in the light of day. We hope to go back and spend more time in the area. We will definitely stay with them again!

I loved that Muletown Farm is off the beaten path. It is quiet, peaceful, and we enjoyed the animals and the firepit also. They offer full hook up, just a note, the sewer is not on site, you will need to unhook and drive to the sewer to dump your tanks. We did have a small issue with that as we need a 14' clearance and there were tree branches that were in the way. Within 2 days they had someone come and cut them back. Communication was great, we would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Camp Nashville Highland Rim

Tent camping here was a breeze. It felt very secluded despite only being 15 minutes or so from Nashville. We did hear some faint traffic nearby but not a peep during the night hours. There were some people hunting way far off in the distant and we heard some rifles go off a few times during the day, but we didn't feel unsafe by any means during our stay. The site was beautiful, fully surrounded by trees at the top of the hill--exactly what I was hoping for. Speaking of hills, there is a pretty steep hill to get up, yes--but with 4WD it wasn't really an issue for me at all. The sites are first come first serve and there was only my fiance and myself plus one other family that showed up several hours later. They were far enough away that we could barely see them. There's potable water and a toilet a decent walk from the site, but we didn't use either so I can't speak to those. Our interaction with the host was very minimal since it's self check-in and check out, but we didn't need anything other than the directions that were provided (which were very easy to follow). Overall I'd highly recommend this site if you're looking for some seclusion but don't want to drive hours away from the convenience Nashville area.

Absolutely beautiful property and perfectly peaceful. The sites were very spacious. The ground is pretty much all creek bed and rock so wear sturdy shoes and plan to bring your own toilet solution. There’s a camp toilet sitting over a pit but it’s not what most are used to or prefer. 10/10 would recommend and will be booking several more times.

What a great spot! The site and surrounding community are beautiful and peaceful. We spent several days here and worked remotely. The wi-fi was fast and reliable making this a great space for teleworkers looking for a dose of nature to break up the workday. We enjoyed long walks on the surrounding dirt roads and quiet nights around the camp fire. This place was everything we could have asked for!

Moonlight Ridge is one of our largest campsites! It has picnic table and a fire pit and plenty of places to park and pitch a tent. The views from Moonlight Ridge are lovely. The elevation is over 700 feet. There are two hiking trails near this campsite. One trail is moderate while the other has a very steep hill and then levels off nicely. This campsite has great views overlooking the valley.
