Situated just outside of Columbia, TN (one of the state's most up-and-coming cities) and right on the same road as our 11th President, James K. Polk, once lived - Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn are waiting to welcome you! Pull in, drive down the grass road and over the small creek, put it in park at the barn and go stretch your legs on the 4o+ acres surrounding. During the day, feel welcome to walk the serene meadows or take a cleared trail up the ridge to the treehouse! Don't be surprised to be greeted by all kinds of wildlife including deer, turkey, foxes, or our goofy, fun-loving Golden Doodle named "Shme." If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you prefer more peace and privacy, there are two beautiful meadows to choose from which both reach deeper into the property. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). There is power to the barn - providing light, 30AMP power for RV hookup, as well as an electrical receptacle that you can run your extension chords from. For the extra adventurous - you may want to take a hike up "Thornbush Trail," which follows the ridge right up the middle of the property and has beautiful views of both meadows to either side. Or, for a more direct route, take a walk right up our dirt access road to the upper ridge, where you can peek through the treeline for beautiful elevated views eastward toward Columbia. Our treehouse (in progress) is located right at the top of the access road. Though the treehouse has not yet been completed, feel free to climb the 20' ladder up the inside of the hollowed out trunk and pop your head out the top! It sure makes a great photo! Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion!

Recreation nearby includes Canoeing/kayaking on both the Elk River and Richland creek (shuttles can usually be arranged), Stillhouse Hollow Falls (beautiful waterfall hiking), Trail of Tears Interpretive Center, and Big Creek Winery.

Linda and her daughter, Jennifer realized they desired to run a BnB, and watched the scattered pieces beautifully fall into place.

Polk, once lived - Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn are waiting to welcome you! Pull in, drive down the grass road and over the small creek, put it in park at the barn and go stretch your legs on the 4o+ acres surrounding. During the day, feel welcome to walk the serene meadows or take a cleared trail up the ridge to the treehouse! Don't be surprised to be greeted by all kinds of wildlife including deer, turkey, foxes, or our goofy, fun-loving Golden Doodle named "Shme." If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you prefer more peace and privacy, there are two beautiful meadows to choose from which both reach deeper into the property. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion!

We were dry camping, but I think there was power and water. It's close to the road, but we didn't hear any road noise. Couple of bars on both Verizon and ATT.

This is my 3rd time at Peaceful Hills and second time solo. I had a wonderful time as usual! The privacy of the campsite is awesome, especially as a beginner solo camper. I always feel super safe on the property and knowing that the host is just a call/text away if I need anything. Tried out the moonlit ridge site this time and it did not disappoint. I was able to see the stars and full moon with no issues which was really nice. I was also still able to get cell service on this site. There’s a portapotty close by for convenience and the picnic tables are always a huge plus. Can’t wait to explore more of the property and sites throughout the year!

Even though a cold front came through, we were able to do a little fishing and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. If you get a chance to meet Ruby, she’s the sweetest dog ever!! I have stayed at Peaceful Hills multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed my stays! The waterfall site is not quite as secluded as others, but it is easy to access and still quite peaceful. The only downside is there is not a full sized picnic table, only a small bistro table with two chairs. This made it difficult to cook, eat, play games, etc. But overall we had a wonderful time!

Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn was an outstanding place to stay. Its location made it incredibly convenient to explore nearby areas like Columbia, Mount Pleasant, and Spring Hill, while still offering a peaceful, countryside atmosphere.
Matthew was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and clearly dedicated to making sure guests have a great experience. His attention to detail really showed throughout our stay.
We used the property as a base camp for exploring the local mountain biking trails, and it couldn’t have worked out better. After long rides, it was the perfect place to come back, relax, and recharge.
The farm itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’d absolutely recommend Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient getaway.

Definitely one of the very best stays we have had with Hipcamp. There has been a lot of time spent on this property and it shows in every aspect. It’s beautiful, quiet, well maintained and the full hook ups and WiFi is so very helpful. We had a problem the first night with our electrical and the owner came out about 9 pm to make sure we had what we needed to make it through the night. The electrical problem ended up being from our power source but William was ready to come back the following day to help figure it out. We will no doubt be trying to book this property again in the future and you should too. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect space!! Camp spot had everything I needed! It was right next to a creek, had a fire pit, and solar lights…what else do ya need?!?! Elisabeth was so kind and helpful during my stay. I’ll definitely be back!! There were so many things for a girl and her dog to do there❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely awesome space. Don't even want to tell anyone about it because I don't want to share! 😂 You will not be disappointed. When pulling out recommending backing out or double checking which entrance your GPS leads you to. I had to take a really sharp right (which the area is not intended for) because my GPS let me to what is the second entrance I believe.
Overall, hands down would stay here again! 5/5 Can't wait for the next time!

I had the most incredible time at Peaceful Hills. I stayed at Moonlight Ridge #30. The host Jennifer was so quick to respond to any questions and so helpful! The sunset views from my site were so peaceful and beautiful. You could see all the colors in the sky. Huge area for multiple tents and cars. I will for sure come again.

What an amazing spot to kick back and relax. We only stayed 2 nights and wish we had time to stay longer. The weather was beautiful our 2 puppers loved it. We are definitely looking to book again. So glad we found this new spot.

Very nice place to go and chill. Very easy to get to. The goats are sweet as can be. There is a swing, trampoline and rock wall for the kids to play. We chose to have Robert cook our dinner for us and it was beyond what I expected. The ribeye was so good and the presentation was great. He was super nice and extremely responsive. Even though you are in close quarters you still feel like you have your privacy. I would definitely recommend to others.
