Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp 4 times. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table.
The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing.
Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups.
My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire.

This ranch is the home of children's book author Cowgirl Annie. This property is a working Ranch. Some of the campsites are in an abandoned gravel pit so you will be parking on a sandy gravel base. I like to let my guests decide where they want to park. I may have to move guests to a different site than the one they booked depending on what is happening on the ranch or the weather. There are cottonwood stands close by that you can hike through to the river. A wide variety of wildlife live in this area, so no telling what you may see or hear. You will have a big area to yourselves. I have tried to plan areas so you won't be disturbed by other campers. I do not groom hiking trails. You will be at one with nature. You may want to bring bug spray, sometimes the mosquitos and horseflies are bad. Wall Drug and the Badlands National Park are about a twenty-minute drive. Mount Rushmore is about an hour and 15 minutes.

A tetherball!! Plus national touring musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions by the campfire or on the front porch. On occasion, we have outdoor movies(when the sun goes down early) and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks or swing from the 60 foot swing in the old cottonwood and soak in that downhome country feeling while it “snows” in July. Our 13.5 acres has a lovely view of the pasture, creek, and surrounding farms. We have pet goats, cows, chickens, dogs, cats, and kittens! Depending on when you come you could witness baby chicks hatching or baby goats being born or bottled. The goats are super friendly and love to be petted or fed. You can wander around the pasture and creek during your stay. There are many RV spots with the power along with a pool!
Firewood is available on site. We reserve the right to prohibit fires if we feel it’s too dry or windy.
A picnic shelter is available to use for assistance if extra bedding or space is needed. The picnic shelter is equipped with a loft along with refrigeration, stove, oven, microwave, soon, shower, and a toilet. Next to the picnic shelter is a large area to have a bonfire where you can grill food or just relax around and enjoy the scenery!
Along with your stay, we provide being big boards and bags for your entertainment along with a stereo for music. If your family is traveling with four wheelers or dirt bikes we have a large area to explore along with a man-made track that is on the edge of the yard.
We are located 11 miles north off of interstate 90. We are 15 miles from Sioux Falls And 6 miles from Garretson (where you have the opportunity to visit Devils Gulch, Split Rock Park, or Palisades State Park!)
We have a large area for children to run and play including three different places in the sandbox.

This little piece of heaven was just what we were looking for on our trip. Both Carole and Steve were helpful in selecting a spot for us to set up at and explaining how things worked. Just before sundown Steve brought around some fresh eggs for us and the other guests which made breakfast that much better. This is definitely a place we will return to if we are ever passing through.

I LOVED camping at Bear Den and I wish I had a longer trip! Tammy has a very clean and well-stocked campsite which completely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend staying here and I hope I can come back!
We saw the northern lights here on our first night. I loved it so much that I did end up staying an extra night, and knowing I had a comfy bed with a hot shower to come back to was just the best. That last day of my trip made all the difference in turning a good trip into a great one. Thank you so much Tammy!

We stopped here to tent camp for a night on our roadtrip west and had a great time! The directions were easy to follow and the land was beautiful. The sites were a little snug but it was great for a one-night rest. And the best part, the welcoming committee consisted of a big fluffer; highly recommend a stay here.

A lovely, quiet and simple spot to stay for the night. We were the only folks there on a Monday night. We saw a beautiful sunset and sunrise. And it was such an easy drive off of 90 and then a short trip to Badlands in the AM. Nothing fancy, but just how we like it.

WOW, WOW, WOW what can I say. This place totally met and far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a comfy and cozy stay look no further.
Yes its off the beaten path and yes its secluded but man oh man does that make it perfect.
Pair that with amazing bathrooms and showers and laundry services its 10/10 for me.
I have stayed at MANY Hipcamp locations and this quickly became my favorite. Amazing hosts as well that go above and beyond. Please do not change anything !

Such a wonderful visit to Angela's land! Angela messaged me before I arrived to share directions and suggestions. I appreciated the contact and thoroughness in her message. My little dog and I were thrilled to find we had the place to ourselves. We explored the property, driving through the trees and checking out the interesting landscape. We ended up staying at the B. Gravel Site, mostly because of the hammock and picnic table. We appreciated the shade amongst the trees along with the peace of solitude. As it got dark, we laid in the hammock and watched the moon rise, listening to the night sounds alongside cows lowing occasionally in the distance. In the morning, exploring the property a bit more, we stumbled across a flock of 8-10 wild turkey! A bonus to an already pleasant stay. Next time around, I hope to try catching some catfish in the river!

Uncle B's is one of the best Hipcamps we've stayed at, and it's easy to see why it's received so many awards. Brian has clearly put a tremendous amount of thought into creating an experience rather than just a place to camp.
The property is welcoming from the moment you arrive. Every campsite has its own light, making it easy to find after dark, while motion lights along the walkways improve safety without taking away from the peaceful atmosphere. The pavilion is decorated with string lights, there are games to enjoy, and fun touches like the license plate displays and guest signature wall make the campground feel personal and memorable.
The shower house and bathrooms were exceptionally clean, and the centrally located firewood station made everything convenient. We also loved seeing the ready-to-camp options, including furnished tents and the Hippie Bus, which are great for travelers who don't have their own camping gear.
What impressed me most was the attention to detail. Nothing felt accidental—every feature seemed designed to make guests feel welcome and comfortable.
As a fellow Hipcamp host, I left with pages of ideas and inspiration for improving our own campground. If you're traveling through the area, Uncle B's is absolutely worth the stop.
