We bought this Airstream in 2022 as an old shell. It was junky and a mess, and not much in it other than old scraps and junk. We renovated it in 2022 and 2023, and turned it into a cozy, midcentury modern style Glamper. We tried to plan for every comfort you could want or need, from wifi and a smart TV, to a cute bathroom, Keurig and an Air Fryer. We hope you love it as much as we do. Please note, it is tight quarters, especially for more than two people and large framed people. For this reason, we only allow two guests. We live on a busy street, but the backyard is peaceful and serene. The airstream is parked next to our creek, where waterfowl abound. Only one vehicle allowed.

Don’t get too close to the pond, our resident alligator (Allen) is close to 9’ long! We also have active honeybee hives. Fireflies can be seen during the summer months. Bug spray is highly encouraged during warmer months.

We have our home on the backside of the property but are more than willing to share our beautiful spot for travelers that may need a place to stay to visit Beaufort or Parris Island or even an overflow spot when Hunting Island cannot accommodate you every day.

We have electric, water and sewer on site.The property is across for the Burton wells athletic and recreational complex, a 300 acre county park with baseball, soccer, football, basketball, fitness room, walking trails, biking, a dog park and a playground. Serenity Trails has two R.V spots for dry camping surrounded by pines with a trail that leads to the park. Great spot, private but not too remote - we felt safe having homes nearby. The land for the sites is nice wooded pine and it was fun seeing the farm animals nearby! Instructions were super clear and we really appreciated having a toilet tent 😊 definitely recommend if you’re staying in the area - not much to do right around it, but a good home base for visiting Charleston, Savannah and Hilton Head.

The Hidden Gem was the perfect place for our style of camping. We stayed 4 nights on the property in a smaller class C with no toad. Our 11 year old blue heeler loved being off leash, and we enjoyed having the freedom to come and go without having to worry about disturbing other campers. Although getting an early Friday morning Uber into downtown Charlotte was a little frustrating and ending up being quite expensive, we only needed to do so one time. And fortunately coming back mid afternoon was much more reasonable. On the other days we simply disconnected from the services and drove our RV to our desired destinations, breakfast, lunch, and visits at historic sites.
James Island is a quiet and unassuming community and getting over the bridge to the “mainland “ was quick and easy. There are some great restaurants on the Island and plenty more places with great food offerings within 20 minutes or so.
James, our host, communicated efficiently and met us at the gate when we arrived. If you like privacy, seclusion, and simplicity, yet easy access to all the area has to offer, this is definitely worth the money
