My two siblings and me were raised here and later bought joining land that now makes up the 400 acres. We all still live on the farm with our families 1.4 mile down a dirt and gravel road. Beautiful hills to camp on and watch an unobstructed view of the Carolina sunset and sunrise that peak through wooded acreage. Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. The plantation is rich in Civil War history and people still find arrowhead 's, Civil war buttons and other Civil War related items on the dirt roads where the soldiers marched through the plantation. As the day winds down to an end you can relax by a campfire or just head inside and kick back and watch a movie from the library of dvd's that are available. This was a nice, quiet camping spot right by the water, great for fishing! Just be aware that bottom fishing isn't ideal due to snags, and we didn't catch much. we booked sooo late, we ended up booking at 12am and getting there at 2am. they had no time to set anything up and it was still beautiful! in the morning we spoke to the host and he helped us with everything we needed even though it was totally our fault! him and his wife are wonderful and we will be back soon! so sorry again for booking so late, but the place was so cute and it was lovely to stay there!

Beautiful, small and remote, directions easy to follow and welcoming host, James. Small town-Saluda Creek, with Food Lion Supermarket and other stores and car wash close by. The facilities (single stall toilet and shower in separate buildings) provided were exceptionally clean, charming and unique with air and heat. History given for some sites as to what was previously located there etc. Short walk to creek area. Price was excellent. Will definitely return!

The site was right on the North Saluda River. It was very quiet with no other sites real close, which is what I wanted. The trout fishing was productive. The only drawback for me was that the tent had to be pitched in the open, with no shade available. This made taking an afternoon nap impossible because of how hot it was inside of the tent. Other than that, I enjoyed myself and would highly recommend camping there.

Outstanding campsite on the saluda river.
My brother and I spent 2 nights here and enjoyed fishing and camping all day. Kayaking up and down the Saluda was rewarding and there was a really nice beach spot to fish. Caught multiple stripper, large mouth and flathead.
Host was really nice and provided plenty of firewood for the site. Didn't get around to using the shower but its there. Also has a nice outhouse that doesnt stink at all.

We had a great time at site 1! It was secluded from the other sites and pretty spacious. The river was lovely, we enjoyed building a fire and sitting out watching the river. I was extremely impressed with the bathroom and shower, it was so clean and well kept! The bathroom was a quick walk from site 1. My one critique would be that I would love to see maybe some gravel or something as we had a really difficult time staking our tents into the ground with how soft the dirt was. There was a very low chance of rain and a big storm come through unexpectedly our first night. This caused our site to have a large volume of water running through and I felt like we couldn’t really do much the following day with how muddy the entire site was. Part of camping is being outside and I completely understand that weather is unpredictable. We’ve been camping with rain before but I had never thought about a dirt campsite after rain. Regardless we still had a great time and would come back!
