Local peach/strawberry farm (McLeod farm) with produce/gift shop/free museum/restaurant called (Big's), they have pick your own strawberries in the spring and early summer. In nearby Hartsville and Cheraw there are several golf courses and places for Kayak rentals. Neptune Island waterpark in Hartsville. We have a hidden Creek that is fun to hike to by way of a trail. Small pond for fishing, plenty of room for hiking and bike riding ( grassy, sandy, rolling hills). Beautiful hills to camp on and watch an unobstructed view of the Carolina sunset and sunrise that peak through wooded acreage. Choose a tent camp location or pull/drive your RV/camper right near our cow pasture and watch the cows graze. Fresh drinking water at campsites. Bathroom and heated shower. Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. Too Many Oaks is a perfect mix of nice and quiet but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. I am a frequent flyer at Gail’s land! Her and her husband are the most gracious hosts. I completely feel comfortable and safe and will not stay anywhere else while in the area. I love waking up to the sounds of nature and farm animals. There is so much to do in the area and it is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you can relax and enjoy the serene setting. I give this place a 10 out of 10.!!!!!!!!!

My stay at Patient Wait was the most warm and welcoming HipCamp I've been too. Gail will dote on you. Mike and I chatted about bee keeping.
I camped under the pavilion due to thunderstorms in the area. The interstate very convenient but far enough way only to be heard as dull drone. It's quick drive into Mauldin, Easley or Greenville.
It's a farm. I woke up to turkeys poking around, large friendly livestock guardian dogs. Goats baying and roosters crowing. (The latter at 3 AM.)
This visit was 4 nights and I enjoyed every moment. I will visit again.

We loved camping at Belinda's farm! The trees were beautiful and the site was very spacious. It was also nice to have our own bathroom tent so we didn't have to worry about bringing one. We also enjoyed having cute little animals around; on the contrary to what a small amount of other folks said, we didn't have any issues with noise from the animals at all. Belinda was also very flexible with timing and booking seeing as it was a last minute stay. Highly recommend staying here before camping at a crowded state park:)

This was my first time camping and I'm likely never going to be able to handle the typical roughing-it, rugged camping that I envisioned when I decided I was going to try it. This place is gorgeous. Everything is so well built and so well maintained.
I think it was the second-best shower I've ever experienced. (I feel pretentious naming the first but I think it's relevant to explain how good this shower is. Number one is the JW Marriott in Dubai.) Rainfall showerhead, the body sprayer thing, amazing water pressure, warm water, shampoo and conditioner, and fully stocked bodywash dispenser. Separate changing room. Comfy and beautiful outhouse with a lounging chair, washer, dryer, air conditioner, and toilet stall with closing door. The shower and bathroom are located just steps from this spot and just a little bit further from the site with the hot tub.
Screened gazebo to keep the bugs out:
- ceiling fan to keep it cool and the air circulating
- small television with Roku
- mini fridge
There are chairs and lounge chairs around a fire pit, beautiful views on the river, small garden area for horseshoes and cornhole.
This was paradise; so quiet and secluded. Will be back for sure to practice my camping.

Weekend Trip to Heirloom Hamlet
Spent 2 nights on Curt + Ani’s property. It was such a treat! Absolutely will be returning for more solo, me-time. It’s the perfect blend of lowkey glamping (stayed in the unit with ac) + outdoor living.
Everything about the unit was intentional, from the name, design, craftsmanship, to the books on the shelves. You can see the effort and love poured into this place.
I went to a show in Folley Beach Saturday night and arrived back to the property around 2:30-3am. Felt completely safe/ease, sat outside in the screened in lanai looking at the stars and listening to instrumentals (very quietly) until almost sunrise.
When I return I will have zero plans, park my car, and escape reality the entire time.

We had the best experience here! The tent cabin was cozy and comfortable, while the space still provided a camping experience. Just the right amount of amenities and comforts while still being in nature. The kayak tour was a very easy, laid back self-guided tour where you go with the current and can take in the sites. A friendly cat buddied up to us on our stay too- added bonus. And the farm store has some very tasty honey. We definitely recommend this experience.
