Nestled in the foothills of the New York Catskills 150 miles Northwest of New York City is a place called Paradise Falls. It was named many years ago and as soon as you arrive you will see why the name was chosen. It has been in our family for almost 100 years. You can still see remnants of the gristmill that use to operate there. Many great memories have been made at the Falls and we now want to share our slice of paradise with you. The rolling creek, a feeder searching for it's mama - the Delaware River - runs down the mountainside and over the rocks to give power and life to the falls. The steady flow makes you think you are far from civilization. But not really - only a short hike and you travel from the falls to a dirt road to a paved highway in a matter of a few minutes. Over thousands of years and a few hundred year floods nature has made this wonderful cave-like formation under and behind the waterfall. The flat rock is a great place to picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the water. The trees surrounding the area make a fitting canopy for this unique campsite. The mountain behind is great for climbing and a short walk down the creek will get you to the base of Jensons Ledges. The ledges are a steep hike up a mountain to a spectacular vista. Definitely worth the time and effort it takes to get there. Come visit our slice of paradise - you will be glad you did.

This gorgeous 24' Yurt includes electricity, excellent Wifi, comfortable Queen beds (one mattress on a bed frame and up to two floor mattresses), a refrigerator, and a pristine compost toilet. There is no running water but we provide one gallon of drinking water and one gallon of water for washing up in the bathroom. You can add-on our outdoors camping shower setup for an additional $30, which is more like a birdbath than a real shower, but you can add hot water so it is warm. Sit on our gorgeous rocking chairs on the deck and grill, and stargaze from bed through the dome in the ceiling. Please also note that there are extra charges for more than 2 guests ($15/ person/ night), pets ($25/ stay), propane for heat (if needed- $25/ tank) mini-propane for gas grill ($10) wood bundle for outdoor fire ($15) and outdoor shower setup ($30 for us to fill with water, provide biodegradable soap, and two towels). You can add these to your booking under 'Extras' Please read through all details below to help prepare you for your stay : ) Wifi We have excellent high-speed fiberoptic Wifi. There is no cell service, so make sure to save it before you arrive. Sound Expect to hear all the sounds of nature that you hear when sleeping in a tent. While the Yurt is insulated and stays warm, sound-wise it is like a tent rather than like a house, so expect to hear the sounds of the woods and the weather during your stay. Windows The screen windows close two different ways: to keep the Yurt insulated there is a velcroed thick plastic cover that is clear. To keep out light/ for added privacy you can roll down a solid canvas flap and zip them shut. Please note that both of these things need to happen from outside the Yurt, so you may want to set them how you want them before you turn in for the night. Please reset windows to how you found them when you leave. Bathroom Our compost toilet is lined with a compostable trash bag. Please scoop sawdust from the Periwinkle Milk Crate into the toilet after each use of the toilet. You should scoop enough sawdust to completely and generously cover everything in the toilet. When you end your trip and leave the Yurt, and/or when the toilet is 2/3 full, please tie shut the compostable bag and dump the bag into our compost. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. (If you are only staying for 1-2 nights and would prefer not to do this, that is totally fine! Just let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring it out.) There is a pitcher with water and a wash bin for brushing teeth/ washing hands in the bathroom. You can empty the wash bin outside when finished using it. We also provide all-purpose soap. Heat The Yurt is well insulated and runs on a propane heater. Please note that propane is not included in your stay and each tank is $25; you can find them under add-ons. Each propane tank will comfortably heat the yurt a night as cold as 30-degree night up to 24hrs. Decide how many tanks you'd like depending how long you are staying or how cold you expect it to be. The Yurt will comfortabl heat freezing nights as well, it just will use propane more quickly. Water We provide a filtered, clean water with each visit. We also provide a pitcher of water in the bathroom for brushing teeth and washing hands and face. If you are staying longer than two nights, or if you expect for any reason to use more water than provided, we ask that you bring the additional water with you, keeping in mind it is a short (4-minute) hike from parking to the Yurt. In some cases with enough notice we may be able to provide additional water for your stay for an additional charge. Kitchenette We provide an electric kettle, a mini fridge and freezer, a microwave for use during your stay. We provide a gas Cuisinart Grill for use on the deck. If you plan to use the grill, please do a $10 mini-propane add-on so we can make sure there is fresh propane provided. We also provide cups, wine glasses, a French Press for coffee making, and plates and bowls. Please do not put the plastic plates and mugs in the microwave. Please throw any compostable food into the compost bin or compost bag provided in the kitchenette and empty it into our large outdoor compost bin at the end of each day. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please do not put meat or dairy products in the compost. If you bring meat or dairy products into the Yurt, we ask that you take any meat or diary trash out with you and dispose of it elsewhere. We have provided trash bags for this purpose. Please keep any meat and dairy products and trash in airtight sealed containers in the Yurt until you are able to dispose of them. Shower If you add-on the Shower Setup ($30) we will fill it with water, and provide 2 towels and biodegradable soap. This is an outdoors camping shower enclosed by shower curtains with a dirt floor; it is very rudimentary, but if you add warm water from the kettle it will be nice and warm. Please do not use any of your own products like soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the shower because it will be bad for the forest floor. Trash Please dispose of regular trash and recycling in our regular trash cans across from where you park. Walton automatically sorts recycling from trash so both can go in the same bins (we separate our recycling in a different bag just so the trash doesn’t contaminate it, but put it in the same bin as the trash.) Compost (fruit + veggie scraps, tea + coffee grounds, toilet bag) gets taken to outdoor compost bin on path to parking and covered with hay or leaves Meat + dairy stays sealed in an airtight container when in the Yurt and taken with you when you leave Rules 1) Please remove shoes as soon as you enter the Yurt 2) Please scoop sawdust anytime you use the toilet, and please take the toilet sawdust out to the compost bin once it is 2/3 of the way full or when you leave, whichever comes first. (If you are only staying 1-2 nights and prefer not to do this, that is fine, just please let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring out the toilet compost and our cleaner will take care of it.) 3) Please turn off all electricity, including all lights and heaters every time you leave the Yurt, especially when you end your trip. 4) Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please put any compostable food in the kitchen compost and take that compost out to the outdoor compost every couple days, covering the compost with leaves or hay once it is disposed of. Learn more about this land: Stay in our cozy 8’x10 ‘ wall tent on a 14’x16’ deck built next to a waterfall. The site includes include a private outdoor shower and a well serviced outhouse per site. Relax in front of the fire pit and fire up the Traeger wood pellet grill and smoker while you enjoy the falls. You will have plenty of privacy, surrounded by woods, access to lush forest, and modern amenities such as: WiFiprovided by Starlink, queen bed, propane tent heater to keep you warm in the cooler months, Brooklinen sheets. The property allows lots of beauty, peace, and serenity. Feel free to roam the 12 acres of woods, fields, waterfalls, and brooks. There are 3 historic waterfalls on the property. Within our small town, you can find all your essential needs met at the stores close by, as well as some great restaurants. Area surrounding the site as well as the areas not surrounding the main house, are accessible with caution. Access to the brook is at your own risk. Brook subject to flooding. Please note location of water rescue equipment at the site. Don’t forget the ice for the Yeti cooler!

My daughter and I had a fantastic time! The tent was clean and we had everything we needed for our two day adventure! Maryann was a wonderful host during a thunderstorm. She drove up to let us know that we were welcome to wait out the storm in the blacksmith barn and she even brought us towels. They told us to help ourselves to any games we wanted to play.. The view was phenomenal.. The night was full of beautiful stars.. We cannot wait to come back again..

We absolutely loved our stay here :) Marie was very kind and welcoming. The area was very cute and it was secluded from any other campers, and the bathroom/shower space was nearby. We were given plenty of wood / fire starting equipment, equipment for the grill, and the tent also had a fire extinguisher and bear horn which was really nice. The creek was also very cute and we had fun exploring it. Overall loved our trip and would definitely come back here :))

Such a nice spot. So beautiful at night with all the fireflies and stars. Highly recommend the spot on the creek for couples. The host was super friendly when we first arrived and gave us our privacy for the rest of the stay.

Weekend Trip to Cabin Getaway

Andrea was very quick with responding to messages and the directions were very simple. Stone driveway through the field and very nice drive through the woods to get to the cabin. The cabin is very simple but cute. Outdoor sink and shower with solar powered heated water. The water was actually a little on the hot side, which surprised me but there's nothing like showering outdoors with the birds singing and seeing the trees and blue sky! Benches with the stone fire pit, hammock, a few walking paths. She has solar powered lights inside the cabin as well and outdoor light above the deck. They supply wood, but don't forget cash to put in their bucket and your fresh drinking water. This was my first solo trip as a female and the only thing that made me uncomfortable was there is no locks on the cabin doors.. I had my dog with me. She could have very easily nudge the one door handle open and gotten out, and I know I'm not the only one that would have the fear of someone or even a bear coming in through the night with that back door. Saying that, I had a great relaxing time with my dog and I definitely want to go back.

Really an awesome campsite. Incredibly scenic and well equipped. You can show up with very little gear and enjoy camping. Great covered area for cooking and eating, big glamping tent, and a nice bathroom/outhouse. The host is great and really takes care of the site. Best hipcamp I’ve been to, this is my second time.

2 nights at The Dam House At Beaver Pond

We (2 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs) had an amazing time camping at The Dam House At Beaver Pond! The location is beautiful and the camp has nearly everything you might need! The kids caught (and released) all types of fish, including some nice sized bass and a very first muskie! Pro tip- pack fish soap, a sponge, some towels and linens/pillows for the cots. The main bed was super comfy, with nice linens. Brendan was really accommodating and even offered to let us check in a day early due to the pending rain storm. He answered all of our questions ahead of time and greeted us upon arrival. Even though we live super close, we certainly will be back.

Weekend Trip to The Hillside Retreat

Lydia had everything set up and ready to go for us. There were so many little amenities that we weren’t even expecting, like setting out doggie bags and even treats for our dog, a citronella candle, all the dishes clean and set out, a wagon to carry our stuff up the hill. View was breathtaking, It was just amazing and I would love to stay again!

This was an amazing getaway. My boyfriend and I didn’t leave this place all weekend. The private dock has all you need for a fun day and making some great meals on the grill were a plus! It was private, relaxing and very cozy! We recommend this place 10/10!

What an absolute gem! I had the most lovely, secluded getaway at The Dam House. The host truly thought of everything—having all the right cookware on hand made prepping dinner a breeze. My absolute favorite part? Waking up and sipping coffee right by the peaceful pond. I'm already counting down the days until I can stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Wonderful stay and such a cool camper! We didn't need to bring anything but a change of clothes and food/beverages. The other reviewers were right in that you are semi close to other sites but the site is extremely private. Sam was friendly and answered promptly when we had questions. We had a great time and are already planning to visit again.

Very nice- it’s glamping meets regular primitive camping. This was perfect as a pride month and anniversary surprise for my girlfriend. She camps in tents bc “you (me) love camping and I love you” so this was a perfect meet in the middle. We loved being lazy in the crick on the raft and I especially loved bathing in the water and just being free in the buff! Quiet, close to stuff for food and drinks and perfect for a cute couple getaway. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we’d taken our boys, Sunshine Daydream and Chance.

This site is amazing! The creek right in front, the hammock, we brought a tube and floated and explored the creek, saw all kinds of animals, has 2 fire pits, a little wooden cooking station and the CLEANEST out house. Ryan is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! We literally can’t say enough nice things about him and we appreciated him being a fabulous host! If you want seclusion and a beautiful spot, this is an ABSOLUTE MUST!!!
