Private sites
100% of recent Hipcampers say the sites felt private.
Carefree, comfortable camping on 12 acres of lush mixed hardwood forest. Choose from two private sites perched along a meandering waterfall gorge with towering hemlocks and dramatic bluestone ledges. The landscape is enchanting and profoundly peaceful with over a mile of trails through ferns, berry brambles, and boulder fields. Enjoy a hot shower, bathroom, hammocks, camp chairs, free crate of firewood, and more. We’ve put care into making this a place an antidote to city life. A wild escape with just the right amount of creature comforts. Away from it all, but also close to quaint river towns and conveniences. The nearby Upper Delaware River is a crystal clear oasis for swimming, tubing, canoeing, and fishing. Ask about self-guided or guided river trips. When you book, we send you our Visitor's Guide chock full of local gems like Equinunk General Store, Good Find Farm (impeccable organic produce), and Fat Cat Cones country ice cream shop. Firewood: First crate is FREE. Additional for purchase. OK to scavenge dead wood. Facilities: Centrally located hot shower and drinkable running water (seasonal May-Oct), clean and odor-less outhouse, water, power, trash cans. Glamping: Available as an add-on (see Extras). Pets: Site #1 is the designated dog-friendly site. Host Interaction: You dictate the vibe. Want total isolation? We're highly skilled at being invisible. Prefer company? We'll invite you down for locally roasted coffee to trade local lore and point you to secret spots to explore. Hosts live in the off-grid solar cabin and converted school bus camper on the property from late June through August. We are off-site during most other dates. Access Logistics: Self check-in/out. Borrow the rugged garden cart to haul gear to your site. Trails use reflective markers for easy night navigation. Liability Waiver: Campers must read and sign-off on rules and waiver before arrival. One per family or unrelated adult. You'll get a link to e-sign before arrival. Waterfall intensity: Varies with weather. Expect a whitewater torrent after very heavy rain or snowmelt or just a steady spring-fed trickle during droughts. What's nearby? Hancock NY (15 mins), Honesdale PA (20 mins), Bethel and Livingston Manor NY (45 mins). See you on the mountain!

Lots of amenities to make your stay easy and comfortable. Site Amenities: - 12 ft x 16 ft tent platform has room for your tent plus chairs, table, and gear - We made the platform very big since level ground is in short supply at this site - Free crate of firewood - Additional firewood for purchase (self serve) - Rock fire ring with adjustable cooking grate - Picnic Table (movable) - Camp chairs (stored in box) - Metal gear storage box - 2 hammocks (movable) - Access to hot outdoor shower, outhouse toilet, sink/water source - Trash disposal Capacity: 4 people is very comfortable in a tent, hammocks or both. Add this Extra and arrive to a fully set up campsite including tent, sleeping cots, cookware, and more.
