Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast.

Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland.
Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States.
Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park.
We offer two sites; Site A is on flat gravel that enjoys full sun. Site A is across from the large grassy area, perfect for sunning and relaxing.
Site B is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. Site B is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit in Site B but you may need to back in.
Site B is backed by our private, small shop. The two sites are separated by trees. Both sites have 120v, 30amp and water hookups.
The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge.
Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception.
We do not allow "shower" tents.
Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone.

This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids.
In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and please USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it.
There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a hot water sink and a HOT shower. * PLEASE NOTE To keep from freezing, the instant hot water heater is disconnected, and hot water, and hot showers ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM NOV 15TH TO MAR 1ST. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong.
There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. Best place to spot deer, racoons, porcupines and beaver are down near the pond.

Camp on the edge of Forest Park and sleep underneath an evergreen canopy of Douglas fir and big leaf maple.
We have one large forest glade with room for several tents. We book only one group at a time, so you are guaranteed the place to yourselves. We can accommodate up to 15 people, with a max of 5-6 vehicles (parking is tight).
This is a hike-in only campground most suited to backpack style camping. The hike in has two short steep sections about 50 feet each. It takes 5-15 minutes depending on fitness level and load. This is not suitable for those with accessibility issues.

-Large fire ring with seating for 7-10 and cooking grate

Enjoy several short trails on the camp's property before heading to Forest Park's

We are located in Banks, Oregon. We are approximately 45 minutes west of downtown Portland. Our camping area is about 5 acres and offers something for everyone. If you have a large RV and need a safe and quiet spot to stay for the night, we got you. We have a large fire pit, Adirondak chairs, a large picnic table, and a swing set for the kids. Badminton and cornhole available on request. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome!
We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them.
Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies, Spirits, or campfire wood. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer.
We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots.
We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of.
During the late summer, our 5 apple trees produce great fruit. We also have 2 plum trees, and some blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like.
Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. Please, only book if you have an RV with working plumbing. **We will not accept tent campers**

it's always a pleasure to stay at Stewart and Anita's place. It's very peaceful and quiet there although it's just a short distance off of I-5. The bathroom is spotless and it's great to be able to get a hot shower on the road. I feel like this Hipcamp is very reasonably priced for what it offers. It's close to the Ridgefield national wildlife refuge, where I enjoy some world class birding, so I have stayed here several times. I'm sure I'll be back soon!

i've stayed here before as it's very close to the Ridgefield national wildlife reserve where I like to go birding. It's peaceful and quiet at Stewart and Anita's place and it's well set up for car camping. The restroom is always very clean. It's quick and easy to get to off of I-5 but you don't hear much in the way of any noise. I would recommend it if you are traveling on this stretch of the road.

Blackberry Cabin offers a perfect slice of solitude! The peace that came from listening to rain pattering on the roof and the wind chimes singing softly along with the warblers and sparrows was the perfect anecdote to the stress and business of everyday life. My dog, Abby, and I loved the off-leash walks on the trails among the birches! The cabin is wonderfully cozy and beautifully designed- the detailing on the ceiling of the bed nook was especially lovely. The cabin is outfitted with all the essentials- all I needed was my clothes and toothbrush! Brian is an excellent host. He made me feel very welcome on his property, showed me around the cabin, and then the place was mine to enjoy for the rest of my stay. I’m looking forward to returning sometime soon!

Adorable spot! Well tended and beautiful. And yes, the hike up is STEEP! Luckily I was able to make it up there in one trip. Once up high, it was lovely. I arrived at dusk on a Friday. Planes flying overhead were only an issue until 10pm or so, and then again at about 7am. Definitely recommend this spot.

I almost don’t want to share the experience, as to avoid bringing others to a spot we plan to revisit! But I must.
My husband and I took our two dogs to Brian’s cabin for an “all to yourself” quiet getaway. It was exactly what we needed - Away from the loud and chaotic world. We spent the whole time walking with our dogs (off leash and able to fully enjoy the nature and space around them) or posted up around the gas fire, listening to the woods around us. When shut in for the night, we had just the right amount of kitchen gadgets to enjoy simple meals for two. When waking up to the sunny forest around us, there was a stocked shower with thoughtful natural/essential oil infused shampoo/conditioner/body wash. For any point in the trip, there was a plethora of blankets for us and the dogs.
It was really everything we wanted. As soon as we got into reception range, I immediately started notifying friends and family about how they needed to visit this place. It is the recharging-kind-of-place we Oregonians all long for amidst the overwhelming routine of life.

We had an incredible time in the geodesic dome. Kelly was a wonderful host, and her animals were just as charming. We opted for the Reiki session, which was magical. I'm always happy to camp at Stuart and Anita's place on my way up to Seattle from southern Oregon. It's well set up for car camping with an onsite restroom that is always spotless. I had a peaceful nights sleep and then visited the nearby Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge where I saw 40 species of birds on the auto loop tour.

Weekend Trip to River View Dome - Goode Time Ranch
One of the most unique and enchanting places to visit I’ve been to in 36 years. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming from the start. The views of the river and surrounding forest were incredible. The place kept warm with a pellet stove and propane heater. We enjoyed a small walk through the woods, axe throwing, soccer, playing with goats and chickens and the sauna. It was also wheelchair accessible. There was great food options within 10-15 mins of the property and the host even made a fresh egg breakfast for us with fresh eggs from the chickens on the property. We also enjoyed the cozy vibes of the dome at night by the fire. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub but one was available. Would highly recommend and we will be back.
