Elk Island Camp Sites

Learn more about this land:Elk Island We have a 22.6 acre island with 10 acre feet of water rights from the river that we are just clearing and creating the final design so come and be a part of making the future come to life by implementing things we found from the past.Thomas Owens Ferry site is about 6 acres under the bridges that was the site of the 1850s Deer Creek Settlement ferry operated by Thomas Owens family which has about 6 acres inclusive of half the overflow channel and it connects to about 10 acres of inner city lake on the South Umpqua River. We recommend getting to the island early enough in the day to look around and pick the best area. The whole island is open to Hipcamp for campers to pick the area that suits them. The porta pots are in the northwest corner of the high portion of the island. Bring a fishing pole or book and enjoy the roughness of the island inside the center of Roseburg.

Crater Lake Resort

Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters. Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village. Please note: We do allow pets in some of our sites for $10 per night. If you plan to bring a pet, please add the pet fee which is listed under "Extras" during the booking process.

8 campsites and 2 original Mongolian Gers. The season for the camp sites is from June 1st to end of Sept and the Gers for 2025/2026 winter are blocked out from Nov 15/25 to May 15/26. Pets allowed, toilets on site, campfires permitted when burn ban is not in place. Now up until this year I have provided Free Firewood. I have quit doing that for a variety of reasons, the least being the cost and the work for me. I am encouraging everyone to purchase a Propane Fire Pit if you don't have one by now. I am not to the point yet of saying no big dogs. Talk to me if you think your "big dog" might not fit in. I don't like running thru other campers sites, so just be respectful. Take them for walks along the lake, not having them run thru everyone else's camp sites. No Yappers, no barking dogs, no yapper's, no pain in the butts. Why would you drive by 46 grocery stores and forget to bring ice? No loud music. I have changed quiet time to 9:00 PM. You need to listen to the chaos/stressful music I suggest you start a band or become a DJ. What I want folks to get out of being here, whether they are camping or staying in the Gers is just to “take a break”. Relax, appreciate, assess and just listen. I hope what you hear is the sound of life and of course all the Angels that make up this special piece of Heaven. Then there is the silence. The best part of “Heaven”.

Nestled on the bank of the North Umpqua River. Surrounded by oak savannas with access to the North Umpqua Habitat (BLM). This secluded rustic/primitive dry camp will accommodate Tent and RV set ups as well as horse camping, fishing, swimming, kayaking, with walking access to the North Umpqua River. You can also go hiking or horseback riding on over 7000 acres of BLM land. Only 12 miles to the city of Roseburg or Sutherland. Easy access from I-5. Guest note: we rotationally graze our cattle (while the campground is open for business) in the months of February/March/April/May/and early June. Message before booking if you want to know if the cattle are on the grounds when you wish to say. They are docile yet curious but pose no threat to campers. **If you wish to bring more than one vehicle, please go to EXTRAS to purchase additional parking.

Only 24 miles from the NP south entrance (on the Prospect desirable side of the NP) and most likely the closest private RV spot. 1/2 mile outside of the little town of Prospect, 1 mile to the Rogue River (fishing and rafting), 1 mile to 3 waterfalls, 8 miles to Lost Creek Lake (boating and recreation), plus an abundance of hiking trails in nearby local area. After viewing the amazing star-filled night skies, fall into a deep relaxed sleep and wake up to birds singing, enjoy your coffee and a nature walk. This serene and quiet RV spot consists of an open space nestled in beautiful mixed woodlands of mature doug fir, cedar, pine and madrone on our 60 acre property (You won’t see our house or shop since these RV spot is on the other side of the property). RV space has 50 amp power, well water and RV sewer. Your own toilet is a must. Be prepared to “Pac-in, pack-out.” This is a protected wilderness area. There’s a mix of sun and shade. At approximately 2600 ft elevation, a fresh gentle breeze significantly cools the late afternoon and evening summer temperatures. Most cell service carriers do get reception at this location, however, there is no WIFI. This can be a pull-through-and-around area. A long RV/trailer may need to make a y turn. Short distance nature trails in the adjacent woodlands can be enjoyed in the immediate area. You will be alone in this no-frills spot. Just you and nature and your RV home.

Also a art gallery of their artwork is on site in the office. Come and enjoy! Their ranch, Heartline Ranch & Tipi Village is on Crater Lake Highway (Hwy 62) just 26 miles down from Crater Lake. They have designated 15 acres for a primitive Campgrounds and Tipi village sites. September of 2020 we were sadly effected by the Wildfire- TwoFourTwo which took 5 of our 6 tipis. We have been able to clean up, regrow and make ready for camping guests. We once again have 6 tipis, all beautiful, and in addition, 6 new camping sites for people with their own tents. Sorry, NO rv's (vans are allowed.) Its wonderful to see all the beautiful regrowth, and to see that most of our trees have regenerated. It is now once again a beautiful place to be. It is their love for this land and a desire to share the beauty and Native experience with others to led them to open up these campgrounds. There is 15 acres in the immediate campgrounds & 6 tipi sites and 6 camping sites for folks with their own tents, so LOTS of privacy. Our ranch has 250 acres of land, great hiking trails that you will have access to for hiking, next to the Winema National Forest, and connected to the Pacific Crest Trail. You will have space to enjoy this beauty. The owner's horses are rescue horses and are their own private property. Please do NOT feed them or go up to them without the owners being there. Horses have delicate stomachs. Our gentle giants are mellow but very big so please stay OUT of their pasture. You may help us during their feeding time, if you ask owners.

On site there is a central place with fire pit for family, friends and to meet people. Our log shelter has ping pong, fire pit, picnic table, wash basin, porta potty and Quiet starlet sky's every evening.
