Don't forget about the jetboat rides on the Rogue River May - September which are hugely entertaining and the river and scenery are unforgettable. The Dinner cruise is always a favorite. Hint (Be prepared to get wet). Elk Haven Ranch consists of 40 acres at the base of a mountain range that is BLM federal land. The Hidden Forest Get-Away campground is spacious and rural where so much wildlife, birds and even an occasional elk herd or family of deer can be seen. This property is a haven for them all, no hunting is allowed. If you are looking to throw a Frisbee with your dog in a forested and meadow setting, without tons of campers right next to you, then this is your place. Room to roam, fresh air to breathe and clean water available at your site April through September. Easy access to a common electricity plug-in where you can charge your cell phones and air mattresses on the electric pole by the entry gate. A common comment we hear from our campers is how much they love using the open air "hot water on demand" shower - at night - looking up at the stars. It's pretty amazing. The porta potty is kept clean and is privately situated, yet convenient. There's tons of firewood available to purchase for only $5 and a cart with wheels you can use to cart the wood easily to your camp site. "We really enjoyed our stay at Wild Hare. Our gracious hosts greeted us when we arrived, even though it was a bit late, and helped get us settled in at their beautiful little farm. It was a hot day but the farm’s big tree and the evening breeze off the hills cooled things down perfectly as we fell asleep listening to the local barn owl. The location was outstanding for our So Oregon adventures the next day to Lake of the Woods and the Rogue Creamery, and then super convenient for attending a concert at the Britt that evening. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Heidi was an incredible host. The space was well kept with cute and thoughtful touches throughout. We loved the outdoor shower and appreciated the outhouse to help extend our grey and black tanks. We envisioned being right on the river, but it was easy to walk down the stairs and access (tents can stay down near the river). The location was great but it was LOUD between the busy road and train. Would stay again though!

Quiet site with friendly host that is just 7-8 min drive from Ashland. However, the site itself it just dirt and not very attractive. Privacy is also an issue as there are two other rentals within 50 to 100 feet which look directory down the hill at this site.

Ashland at your fingertips! Convenient, nicely kept and level site, garden and flowers, veggies, and fruit trees, all around. Easy to find maneuver into your camping spot—very peaceful and private. There is some traffic noise from I-5, as the host mentions, so if you’re super sensitive to that, just bring earplugs. No shade until the very end of the day, but there’s so much to do in the area that you are gonna wanna spend the day doing other things in nature or the charming little town of Ashland. Superb multiple offerings in the theatre repertoire Ashland is known for. This is an excellent option for overnighting in Ashland!

Weekend Trip to Good Karma Van Camp

This was our second stay at Good Karma Van Camp, and it was just as great as the first. It’s a perfect stop on our annual summer road trip—easy to find, convenient, and only a short drive from downtown Ashland. The garden is beautiful, the views of the surrounding hills are fantastic, and communication with the host was excellent. We had no trouble pulling in with our van and getting set up for the night. We’ll definitely be back again.

Hal's place is great! It has everything one needs and the private and direct access to the Rogue River is perfect. The outdoor shower is super cool, the space has been thoughtfully setup. I had a great time and the host was so kind and friendly. There're a lot of wildlife sightings, and if you enjoy taking a dip on rivers this is the peace to go. I definitely recommend it and I'll be looking to stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Rogue Rocks RV and C

Our first Hipcamp stay on the Rogue River was a total success. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the whole property felt cozy, whimsical, and thoughtfully put together. After the hot drive from California to Oregon, cold river lounging with icy beers was exactly what we needed. We loved watching bald eagles, herons, ducks, and geese overhead throughout the stay — the riverfront setting was beautiful and peaceful. The outdoor shower deserves its own mention — straight out of a vintage MAS*H “Hot Lips” scene. Showering under the moon was unexpectedly and relaxing. Our site had a table and chairs, plus additional seating down by the river. There were also fire pits available. The porta potty was very clean, the gated property felt safe and private, and overall it was an easy 5-star stay. We will absolutely come back.
