We have many exciting changes for our guests this year! Along with the geodesic dome, RV sites, wood-fires sauna, store, and cafe added last season, this year we will have 3 stargazer tents! Brand new tents at sites 1, 2, and 6- all Stargazers. Spend the night looking at the stars from the comfort of your own bed.
We will also be adding more DIY tent spots as the season progresses, so keep an eye out for those as well.

Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail.
A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River.
Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property.
Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

Marmot House is a lush 13 acres of mostly old growth forest in the foothills of Mt. Hood, right on the Historic Oregon Trail. It is close to hiking, biking, and forested waterfalls a short drive away. We have beautiful short hikes on trails in our forest on the property.
World class windsurfing 30 miles away in Hood River, as well as more amazing waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. The Sandy River recreation area is just up the road from us and we are 10 mins. from The Sandy Ridge Trail with its 17 miles of mountain bike trails.
Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing!
The is not a developed campground, it is our home. We see ourselves as stewards of this hidden forest gem and welcome people to enjoy its beauty. We are avid campers and recently spend 9 months in our teardrop trailer off grid on public lands. Living here we are three family members, one renter and short term volunteer traveler workers. We all work from home, Arehn a spiritual life coach, who loves to cook, Jim a software engineer and disc golfer, son Ian, software engineer and writer and Zuzu, forest fire fighter and logger lives in a separate apartment on the property.

Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips.
The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, country cafe, Chinese restaurant, and new to our town "Confluence Cafe" right at the entrance by the Klickitat River - Awesome views - yummy treats and coffee. Matt and Ali are super cool, go check it out.
Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or
The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

What makes this cabin cool? Well, it is a retired DNR fire watch cabin! The cabin is as original as can be! Equipped with battery operated and solar lights along with propane heat! Porta potty right next to it for your use! There is a full bathroom and amenities to include fridge, microwave, coffee pot and air fryer just a short walk away! Dishes are not included and cooking utensils are very limited.
Winter sports galore up here right now! Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ample parking for snow mobile trailers! OR bring your favorite book and come enjoy a peaceful restful weekend!
Springtime is a gorgeous time of year up here and turkey season is a favorite! Ample room for boats/trailers if you are considering hitting Drano lake for some springer salmon fishing! It is apx 30 minutes away.
In the summertime come up and enjoy the hiking! Sleeping Beauty trail is just a few minutes away and you are within 30 minutes or Hood River if you are looking to explore and check out wineries. There are cheese caves, ice caves, Goose Lake, Council Lake and so much more!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Hood River fishery has been amazing and the fall colors can't be beat!
There is a fire pit and campfires are welcome when there is not a burn ban.
Trout Lake Inn is a local favorite up here and check their Facebook to see what live entertainment they have coming up.
Pets are welcome - please make sure they are well behaved and are kept close to the cabin. I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area.
Come enjoy the mountain air - it is good for the soul!

You feel like you’re waking up in a state park, but you’re just ten minutes from town. Mt Adams and many hiking trails are nearby. If you are a rafter or a kiter, we are very close to the river as well!
It will sleep 4 comfortably- please contact me about extra guests. There is a trundle bed with twin mattresses, and a Queen bed. Both have fitted sheets only. Please bring everything else you may need to be comfortable.
The cabin is off grid so charge your electronics beforehand and bring a cooler!
It’s a great place for a reset : ) Get your feet on the ground and wake up with the birds chirping.
NOTE: You have to pack trash in and out. Leave no trace. I do not have trash pick up at the cabin and anything left has the potential to lure wildlife in. Thank you for your understanding!

Creekside campground with showers has 4 separate sites:
1. The campground with a kitchen and hot/cold potable water and 20 amps of power. Includes 3-4 picnic tables and a covered stage area with power. This can hold 8-10 large tents comfortably. Price includes up to 10 people. Children under 12 are not counted and are free (except to their parents).
2. Tiny Creekside cabin has no power and a queen size bed with bedding and towels included. Sleeps 2 with about 120 SF (tiny) includes 150 SF covered deck. You may add tents around the cabin but must add the guests under extras so you pay for additional tents/people. No kitchen with cabin. This site has a private fire pit.
3. Creekside RV - retro trailer newer looks like a 50's diner. Has fridge, stove top, microwave, electric hot water kettle and Air Conditioning. This is a nice addition to the other sites due to the AC and fridge. RV is parked next to creek across from campground. The toilet is not connected (please use Portable toilet next to trailer).
4. A cabin in the trees 12'x20' with queen bed and all bedding included. No Kitchen in the Cabin, The cabin includes a picnic table, fire pit, hammock, and outdoor bench and chairs.
No Electricity.
All sites have shared access to hot showers, portable toilets, and potable water next to Outdoor kitchen and dinning area.
Guests love staying with us; "Brenda's property is fantastic. We had a gathering of friends for a long weekend on this property (rented the cabin too) and had the best time. Having the creek to splash around in, warm running water for showers and washing dishes, trails to explore, and the delivery of fresh produce and eggs from the property far exceeded our expectations. Brenda is the best host - she answered all my questions quickly and was very generous with our group. Definitely recommend!"

🔥 Camp Festivus is a unique 1926 Vintage cabin that has been thoughtfully restored, featuring a stone (Steiner) fireplace, reclaimed barnwood and 6 person hot tub all on a private creekside acre.
💧Challenge your nerve by swimming in Clear Creek or relax in the hot tub over looking the water. Indulge your inner slug, grab a book and read in the hammock.
🎣 Feeling lucky, you can try fishing in the back yard or walk across the street to see if they are biting in the Sandy River. Afterwards you can cook up what you catch at the outdoor fire pit or grill, then fall asleep to the sound of water or gaze at the old growth trees or creek view from every window.
🎿 You can throw down your gear or tune your bike or skis in our large heated mudroom, and toast s'mores out back or come inside and listen to your favorite music via Spotify or watch a movie on one of our flat screen TV's. Do you want a bit more privacy for the adults, then the kids can go down to the comfy TV room with flat screen, dvd player and stereo, there are tons of pillows and fold out mats to relax, watch movies, or listen to music.
🪑 The iron and woodwork and much of the furniture have been custom designed and produced to maximize the beauty of the cabin as well as the surrounding area.
The cabin has a well equipped kitchen that will accommodate 8 people comfortably at meal time, a living room that centers around the fireplace, a sitting room that provides both an extension of the living room and a connection to the covered deck and the creek out back.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor. The main bedroom, with a queen bed, has its own bathroom. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an annex bedroom with both a full size bed and a trundle below. There is also the upstairs loft space, which has two full sized beds each with their own trundle bed. In addition, there is a bonus space downstairs with it own full sized day bed that stays nice and cool in the summer, but needs a little pre-heating in the winter months to be comfortable for most folks. Our family’s favorite thing about the main floor bedrooms is their proximity to the sounds of the creek.

Trout Lake is a quaint little town situated in an organic valley surrounded by mountains with the main focal point being the majestic Mount Adams towering overhead. Breathtaking views of Mount Adams can be seen directly from some of the cabins and the grounds. Opportunities for fun adventures and activities abound within these beautiful surroundings, making Trout Lake Cozy Cabins the perfect place to escape and get away from it all.
All of the cabins are unique and special with different features to fit almost anyone's needs. All of the cabins feature new and very comfortable queen-sized beds, and all come with their own BBQ grill. Satellite television and free WiFi internet service is available to all guests in each unit. Rustic propane fire places have been installed in each cabin along with air conditioning units to make sure our guests are warm and cozy on the coldest winter nights as well as cool and comfortable on those hot summer days. Parking is ample within steps of each of the cabins and is more than big enough to fit snowmobile trailers, horse trailers, RVs, or any other toys you may want to bring along for your trip.
Trout Lake Cozy Cabins was formerly known as Serenity's, named after the restaurant that sat on the property. The Restaurant burned down a number of years ago. Since the restaurant building was rebuilt, we have been excited to have Mt. Adams Pizza on our property for the last 4 years. There are also a number of places to eat within a mile of the cabins including Mount Adams Pizza, the Trout Lake Hall, Post Office Coffee, and the Station Cafe.
The Mount Adams Ranger District is a great resource for additional information about the area and recreational activities. Of course, having grown up in the area, we are always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a "local's" tip/suggestions. Don't be shy, we are very friendly people and will go out of our way to make sure you have a memorable stay with us!

Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail.
A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River.
Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property.
Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

World class windsurfing 30 miles away in Hood River, as well as more amazing waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. The Sandy River recreation area is just up the road from us and we are 10 mins. from The Sandy Ridge Trail with its 17 miles of mountain bike trails.
Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing!

The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, country cafe, Chinese restaurant, and new to our town "Confluence Cafe" right at the entrance by the Klickitat River - Awesome views - yummy treats and coffee. Matt and Ali are super cool, go check it out.
Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or
The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

What makes this cabin cool? Well, it is a retired DNR fire watch cabin! The cabin is as original as can be! Equipped with battery operated and solar lights along with propane heat! Porta potty right next to it for your use! There is a full bathroom and amenities to include fridge, microwave, coffee pot and air fryer just a short walk away! Dishes are not included and cooking utensils are very limited.
Winter sports galore up here right now! Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ample parking for snow mobile trailers! OR bring your favorite book and come enjoy a peaceful restful weekend!
Springtime is a gorgeous time of year up here and turkey season is a favorite! Ample room for boats/trailers if you are considering hitting Drano lake for some springer salmon fishing! It is apx 30 minutes away.
In the summertime come up and enjoy the hiking! Sleeping Beauty trail is just a few minutes away and you are within 30 minutes or Hood River if you are looking to explore and check out wineries. There are cheese caves, ice caves, Goose Lake, Council Lake and so much more!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Hood River fishery has been amazing and the fall colors can't be beat!
There is a fire pit and campfires are welcome when there is not a burn ban.
Trout Lake Inn is a local favorite up here and check their Facebook to see what live entertainment they have coming up.
Pets are welcome - please make sure they are well behaved and are kept close to the cabin. I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area.
Come enjoy the mountain air - it is good for the soul!

You feel like you’re waking up in a state park, but you’re just ten minutes from town. Mt Adams and many hiking trails are nearby. If you are a rafter or a kiter, we are very close to the river as well!
It will sleep 4 comfortably- please contact me about extra guests. There is a trundle bed with twin mattresses, and a Queen bed. Both have fitted sheets only. Please bring everything else you may need to be comfortable.
The cabin is off grid so charge your electronics beforehand and bring a cooler!
It’s a great place for a reset : ) Get your feet on the ground and wake up with the birds chirping.

1. The campground with a kitchen and hot/cold potable water and 20 amps of power. Includes 3-4 picnic tables and a covered stage area with power. This can hold 8-10 large tents comfortably. Price includes up to 10 people. Children under 12 are not counted and are free (except to their parents).
2. Tiny Creekside cabin has no power and a queen size bed with bedding and towels included. Sleeps 2 with about 120 SF (tiny) includes 150 SF covered deck. You may add tents around the cabin but must add the guests under extras so you pay for additional tents/people. No kitchen with cabin. This site has a private fire pit.
3. Creekside RV - retro trailer newer looks like a 50's diner. Has fridge, stove top, microwave, electric hot water kettle and Air Conditioning. This is a nice addition to the other sites due to the AC and fridge. RV is parked next to creek across from campground. The toilet is not connected (please use Portable toilet next to trailer).
4. A cabin in the trees 12'x20' with queen bed and all bedding included. No Kitchen in the Cabin, The cabin includes a picnic table, fire pit, hammock, and outdoor bench and chairs.
No Electricity.
All sites have shared access to hot showers, portable toilets, and potable water next to Outdoor kitchen and dinning area.

🪑 The iron and woodwork and much of the furniture have been custom designed and produced to maximize the beauty of the cabin as well as the surrounding area.
The cabin has a well equipped kitchen that will accommodate 8 people comfortably at meal time, a living room that centers around the fireplace, a sitting room that provides both an extension of the living room and a connection to the covered deck and the creek out back.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor. The main bedroom, with a queen bed, has its own bathroom. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an annex bedroom with both a full size bed and a trundle below. There is also the upstairs loft space, which has two full sized beds each with their own trundle bed. In addition, there is a bonus space downstairs with it own full sized day bed that stays nice and cool in the summer, but needs a little pre-heating in the winter months to be comfortable for most folks. Our family’s favorite thing about the main floor bedrooms is their proximity to the sounds of the creek.

Rustic propane fire places have been installed in each cabin along with air conditioning units to make sure our guests are warm and cozy on the coldest winter nights as well as cool and comfortable on those hot summer days. Parking is ample within steps of each of the cabins and is more than big enough to fit snowmobile trailers, horse trailers, RVs, or any other toys you may want to bring along for your trip.
Trout Lake Cozy Cabins was formerly known as Serenity's, named after the restaurant that sat on the property. The Restaurant burned down a number of years ago. Since the restaurant building was rebuilt, we have been excited to have Mt. Adams Pizza on our property for the last 4 years. There are also a number of places to eat within a mile of the cabins including Mount Adams Pizza, the Trout Lake Hall, Post Office Coffee, and the Station Cafe.
The Mount Adams Ranger District is a great resource for additional information about the area and recreational activities. Of course, having grown up in the area, we are always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a "local's" tip/suggestions. Don't be shy, we are very friendly people and will go out of our way to make sure you have a memorable stay with us!

We went during the off season and I can't even imagine having a better time. They accommodated us last minute. Very sweet barn apartment that is just above the horses with a little balcony to look out. had everything we needed and my daughter really loved reading the books. It was a luxury to have a regular working toilet in the "outhouse" or whatever you would call a really cute bathroom just feet from the apartment. Although we didn't purchase any extras, we were able to hang with the horses through the gate and they are so friendly. So cool. Loved Spirit the black cat the most we must say. We really couldn't have asked for a sweeter overnight adventure.

Weekend Trip to Camp Colton
The grounds were beautiful. It was nice to have a bed and access to a shower and toilet. The communal fire pit was cool. It wasn’t busy this time of year, so it was just us at the fire. This would be a great base camp for fun on the Mollalla river activities or just a quick glamp getaway from the city. We booked a room after a class with the Oregon Maple Project and it was fun to learn about that operation and process and see all the tapped maples on the property. Their art classes and fancy dinner nights are intriguing. It seems like they’re building something cool out there.

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin
The cabin is off to the side of the front of the property along a quiet country road, wedged between cow pastures and hilly ridges with trees and elk. The setup exceeded our expectations - warm, comfy, plenty of space, a gas stove for heat and a camp stove for cooking. Getting to hiking is close but not necessarily walkable - Trout Lake town with the ranger station for the National Park is a 10 min drive. Fridge and bathroom with shower a short walk from the cabin are a bonus. It’d be fun to visit again in spring or autumn.

Weekend Trip to Camp Colton
Camp Colton is such a beautiful, special setting. This was our first visit since getting married here almost 20 years ago, and it’s as lovely as ever. The accommodations were spartan but cozy—exactly what we had in mind—and our host was accommodating but hands off. Plus, we enjoyed a syrup-making workshop from the Oregon Maple Project onsite after checking out in the morning. Highly recommend this remote retreat!

Super cozy spot right on a beautiful creek — such a relaxing place to stay. Jeffrey was a great host and shared everything we needed for an easy trip. The kitchen was really well stocked, and the location is perfect for skiing at Meadows (less than 30 minutes away). Would definitely stay here again!

This place is exactly what we were looking for. Beautifully maintained grounds to give you just the right blend of nature and cozy accommodations. Trent and Robin were great and super helpful. This was definitely our 2 dogs favorite place to fancy camp… and will absolutely be back! Ps the wood fired hot tub was a dreeeeam!

Sweet spot. I lucked into a sunny warm late December stay for NYE and it was exactly what I wanted: cozy and secluded. The cabin is a stone’s throw from a roaring creek, which is my absolute favorite sound to fall asleep to. The hike in is lovely but no joke! I wish I had packed a bit lighter, but live and learn. A small wagon would have been clutch. Also: excellent outhouse— tidy, well stocked, and zero smell (the exterior motion light was well appointed but a touch light inside would be nice for nighttime visits!) Nice touch: they already had a fire lit when I arrived and had exactly enough wood to keep me warm my entire stay. Overall, a memorable respite and I hope to return!

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin
The cabin was incredibly cozy. Even though it was below freezing outside for most of our trip the heater and blankets kept us super warm inside. Waking up to the cows and the mountains always felt amazing, and at night if the sky was clear so many stars were visible.

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin
If being off grid isnt your cup of tea then this cabin probably isnt for you but we love it. One of our favoright things about staying here is that there is very little to no cell service and wifi only if you want to hook up to it. We love being off grid and having quality family time to interact with eachother with out the distractions of cell phones or tv. No power no problem for us! This is our favoright family get away spot by far.

My husband and I loved staying at Trent's cabin! We were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway where we could take long walks in the woods and relax in a comfortable cabin at night. The wood stove hot tub was amazing. Trent was a great host and was very attentive to our needs while also making sure we had all the privacy that we could want. I would stay here again anytime!
