Weekend Trip to Zen Acres

Cute Little Place! For others when you pull up you'll see on a tree a small HipCamp sign then the neighbors actual metal gate to the right then to the left a gravel drive and a patch of grass, pull into the grass and drive forward you'll then see a wooden fence and a small wooden gate *this is the gate you want* in the trees "hard to see" you'll see the parking sign and when you walk to the actual wooden gate you'll see the next HipCamp sign. Fully Fenced area which we loved, lights come on at dusk, camp table, deck, chairs. The bathroom is larger than most pit toilets but bring a light with you and look for spiders on the toilet lol I was super impressed with the kitchen sink, the hot and cold water works incredible. We had an adorable little dinner at the table that the kitchen cooked perfectly. The bed is upstairs and a tight squeeze so make sure you can make that climb, it's very comfortable up there with little windows we loved for air. Overall we had a comfortable quiet little night and that's what we where looking for.

The farm is a quiet place with lots of interesting history. The host was kind and friendly. The cabin stayed cool; it was tidy and had a pleasant porch to sit on.

Weekend Trip to Old Elkhorn Golf Course

I loved camping at the old golf course! Anthony is a wonderful host. He met us at the gate and showed us to our lovely spot on Fairway 18. Each campsite has access to the flat green as well as a wooded area so you can choose to put your tents in the shade. The sites are well spaced and there is plenty of privacy in the wooded parts. You can hear other campers laughing, but it's pleasant and not at all crowded. Anthony offers barrels for campfires that you can rent and he will deliver them and wood. We made hotdogs and s'mores under the amazing stars. It's a wonderful camp spot for dogs and children, with a short walk to the river. My six year old had a blast. I did too! We will definitely be back!

This place is a gem!! Huge camping spaces, plenty of room to roam and neighboring sites are spaced out far. Anthony and his crew were super helpful and welcoming! We brought the wrong propane hose for our stove and instead of driving all the way back to town, Anthony loaned us one of his. Porta-potty was super clean, campfire was amazing and river access was right by our site! We cannot wait to come back! 10 out of 10 we highly recommend Elkhorn Camp!!

We had a great stay at Gordon’s Pond. Patricia was a great host and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Our site was large and well groomed and our stay exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful place to explore and relax! The sounds of nature were abundant— owls, bullfrogs, birds and coyotes , oh my! All while surrounded by horses whinnying and wildflowers and trees blowing in the breeze. The access to fresh water was a nice bonus! Great hip camp location and a lovely host!

Anthony's property is very peaceful and he was very accommodating. Checked on his campers daily. The river surrounding property is great but the access to it not great. But there was several parks with swimming holes on the way to the the property. I would definitely return.

What a weekend!.. Went to Old ElkHead Golf Course to get away for the 4th of July (My dog and I do not do well with fireworks). Talking with Anthony before the trip reassured me enough to give it a chance, and I am so glad we did! The way he has laid out the camping on the Fairway gives everyone a significant area, privacy, and peace and quiet. Even at the busiest it never felt crowded or 'busy'. The property is HUGE, we walked over 6 miles a day (a tired Husky is a happy Husky), hardly every ran into others once out on the other fairways. This is NOT a 10' separation campground, think more 100'+ separation!! Anthony and Gary are constantly working to make make the experience even better, and had just finished a 3+ mile walking path around the property, including access to the Swimming Hole. They checked in with each camp 2-3 times a day, delivering firewood and listening attentively to ideas, issues, and just talking like old friends. This is a "Get off the grid" experience, dry camping, and while there is WIFI, is is limited to an area around the center of the property, so I was able to check in, without the phone being an ongoing distraction. Would I go back, and more importantly, would I recommend it to my friends and family? H___ YES>> I am already looking forward to going back! The most wonderful thing was watching my Husky flake out and snooze thru the 4th of July, as there were ZERO firework that evening, and only 2 small pops all weekend. Worth every cent!!

Our expectations were sooo far exceeded. Anthony was promptly responsive during planning and during our stay. The property is huge and beautiful, an oasis in the tragic burn area. Anthony met us on arrival, and showed us several places we could set up, and did an amazing job of quickly reading us and our camping needs to suggest the right spots for us. He took into consideration which "neighbors" he was suggesting the same general areas to, to improve the experience of all. The sites were all good, most awesome, very well spread out. There were several walking trails cut through the unused former fairways with his mower, now wildflower meadows, and the ones he has people camping on were all freshly mowed. Lots of large trees between the fairways, with many good camping spots cut back into them. Well placed portapottys, very clean, and barrel fire rings at each with gratis wood delivery. Several with tables. Very personable, excellent host. Will most definitely be returning!

we were so surprised about the campground clean. It was even though it was rustic. It still was clean and the bathrooms/outhouses were not filthy and they were well maintained, except for there wasn’t any toilet paper at one point in time. Thank goodness Will we brought our own, but other than that the swimming pool was wonderful and relaxing, and everybody was respectful and even the dogs around there were respectful, which I really appreciate people weren’t partying and being really loud.

Welcome to Calliope Vineyard and Retreat Center! We are open for camping, as well as full property use:weddings, friend gatherings, family gatherings and retreats. (Full property use, all campsites) please inquire for details/cost/available dates) *If you don't see a weekend open for dates for a full property booking, please inquire as we have some weekends blocked off for potential weddings/retreats THE PROPERTY: Our campsites are on two beautiful ponds with a seasonal creek in an old growth cedar forest with a few trails to enjoy the stillness and magic of the woods. There are 11 acres with a vineyard, fruit orchard, large garden, cob garden wall for lounging, fire pit at the vineyard with several picnic tables and hammocks, a big open field above the camping area, and the beautiful cedar forest. large deck off the barn for music, dinners, yoga and gathering. We consider this land sacred. We are only caretakers passing through, and honor this place and the original people of this land: The Molalla, Clackamas, and Kalapuya tribes, who were "relocated" to the Grand Ronde Reservation in the mid 1800's. Please be mindful of the energy of the forest, and all the people and animals who still reside and have come before. The forest is home to beavers, coyote, deer, raccoons, salamanders, frogs, and many bird and bug species. Our dream is to share this land with all people to create community in harmony with nature and provide a safe space We welcome, open heartedly, people of all gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and artistic expression. WHEN YOU ARRIVE: Proceed down our long driveway to the bottom. Take a left at the sport court, and continue right. On your left is the woodshed with the "Calliope Farm" mural. You will see two parking spots to the left of the woodshed (Harmony Hollow parking) and two on the right (Hobbit Circle) You can unload here and grab a cart. Across from the parking, on the red barn, is the water station, and the hot tub sign up sheet. You will be walking/carting your things down to the forest where you will pass the outhouse on the left. For Harmony Hollow, after you cross the first bridge, take the path to the left and cross a second bridge and the campsite is on your right. For Hobbit Circle, cross the first bridge and walk around the pond, which will lead you to the campsite. The campsites are a short walk, (200 yards) but there is a decline, and you need to be a little hearty to walk back up the hill with your things. You will have a good amount of space and privacy for your group, but may encounter others visiting the forest as well. Enjoy a social time while respecting that some come for quiet and reflection. We provide a picnic table We wish to all work together for safety, with intelligence, common sense, and fire consciousness. OFFERINGS: We have a cedar hot tub, massage therapy, and an outdoor shower. The charge for the hot tub is $15 per person for 75 minutes of hot tub time. You can schedule the hot tub for privacy at the sign up sheet on the barn. If you would like to shower and not hot tub, the cost is $5 per shower, otherwise its included in the hot tub fee, and required for hot tub entrance. If you, or anyone in your group did not pay for a hot tub ahead of time, you will find a Venmo link on the barn, or can bring cash. HOT TUB: The hot tub sign up sheet is on the barn next to the water station. It is first come first serve. If you are a larger group using the tub, consider choosing a later spot for water displacement. If the hot tub is too hot, please add cold water from the hose to desired temp. PLEASE do not turn down the temperature on the hot tub, but use the cold water to create desired temp, but not below 102. If you are staying multiple nights and would like to hot tub again, the cost is $10 pp, instead of $15. Kids under 10 are $5 The hot tub is to the right of the house down by the garden. Your time is private, but we may need to visit/work in the garden. PLEASE read and be mindful of the hot tub etiquette posted in the hot tub area. VINEYARD: ~Silas Wines~ This is the original vineyard for Silas Wines founded in 2010. Our Pinot Noir vines are 40 year old Wadensville clone planted by the Ritter family in the early 80's. You are welcome to walk the vineyard, and explore the front of the property. Our neighbor Beth, to the west, is a master gardener, and loves to give tours of her gardens or you can wander on your own. (please inquire) Dogs: Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog. We and our neighbors have chickens that are penned and free ranged. Please DO NOT allow your dog (or yourself) to roam on our neighbors property over the fence in the next field to the East. He is very friendly, and we have a good relationship, but that is his request. Please pick up after your dog. Please do not lose site of dog, and keep them on leash in common areas. Please do not leave your dog unattended at the campsite or anywhere on the property where they will bark and disturb other guests. THE CARAVAN SPOT: Please let us know if you are needing a van camping spot opposed to tent camping in the woods. We do have a few different options for car camping, and when booking select the "caravan spot". We also can split up your group if some are tent camping and others need van camping, but you would need to book the two different sites. More about the property: - This is a regenerative farm, just starting. Hip Camp is providing the resources to purchase stock to begin my flerd (flock + herd = flerd). -My tiny home is in the area of the sites, but far enough away to maintain privacy. Otherwise it is a private and secluded area. Because I live on site, I will not allow repeat visits if groups become rowdy or disrespectful. -There is ELECTRICITY and WATER on site. A compost TOILET and sink are available, but no shower. -There is a communal FIREPIT, don't forget your marshmallows. (No individual fires allowed). I will talk to each group of campers about their comfort level with enjoying the fire with other campers, or a preference for trading off nights. -I have a 6-person HAMMOCK for relaxing with family or friends. (NOT a trampoline) - There is an old hay wagon converted into a covered picnic area that I call the COWZEBO for use if the weather gets iffy. - FRIENDLY DOGS are welcome. Crown Point Camp is the perfect gorge base camp on the Western edge of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, a Gateway to hiking, biking, kayaking, windsurfing and many other Adventures! Our camp is right off the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway just minutes away from Portland Women's Forum and Crown Point, the Jewel of the Columbia. Our facilities include an outdoor shower, a solar-powered composting toilet, fresh water, fire pits, and plenty of flat ground surrounded by trees for excellent camping! Please read this whole message so you are not surprised when you get here! Note: The use of the sauna, hot tub, and composting toilet are only for Glamp bookings! The campsites and tipi use the port-a-potty and have the use of an on-demand outdoor shower. Our home and farm is on two acres. Your tent site, is all in our ample acreage. Although pets are welcome, we expect them to be well-behaved around our two cats, our own big sweetie of a pup, Frejya, our two crazy goats Cupcake and Muffin, and our free-ranging chickens. Expect to hear some animal noises here on the farm. Our property literally borders the scenic highway. Because we are so close, you can hear the sunset-view-seeking drivers, motorcycle riders, and yes, racers who come out this way for a spin on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Located 10 minutes from ilani Casino, 5 minutes from the Clark County Fairgrounds and amphitheater, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. Hosts are avid Flyboarders, Jetskiers, Paraglider Pilots, and Stuart has been climbing since the late 1900's (1974 and up... back in the era where if it couldn't be nailed it couldn't be climbed). This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and plese USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is an active sawmill onsite IES-Sawmill.com. People are welcome to visit, but equipment has the right of way and may not see you. Please avoid the log decks, and especially don't allow children to play on them, as logs can roll at any time. Some of the equipment is big, heavy, and doesn't have the greatest visibility if people walk up un-noticed. Always ensure that the operator sees you, and don't place yourself anywhere where a log that comes loose could run you down. Operating Equipment always has the right of way. There is a climbing wall on the North side of the machine shop. If you are an experienced climber with a partner to belay you can the appropriatte gear, you are welcome to use the wall, please let us know first. If the hosts have time, you may be able to convince them to give you a lesson. We are changing the anchors on our ziplines, so they are not available for use at this time. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a cold water sink and COLD water shower. The water comes out of the ground year round at about 60 degrees so it's a chilly shower. If you need a hot shower, renting the cabin is your best bet as it comes with a private bath that has a hot shower. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong. There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. Best place to spot deer, racoons, pocupines and beaver are down near the pond. Enjoy your stay. Stuart and Anita
