Welcome to the 2026 Hipcamp Season. I am glad you found me. We are ready for fun season and can't wait to meet you! My camp is one of the most unique Hipcamp properties on the entire Oregon Coast.
Come and stay at my licensed Hemp farm! Since 2015 I have been regenerating the soil and improving this once barren property. I plant a large portion of the property in Hemp plants. There is now abundant plant life on-site which attracts diverse wildlife including insects, birds and reptiles. Your stay here helps us to pay the bills to keep making this small patch of earth better.
The property is on a sunny bench not far from the ocean and usually above the fog line. Our location gets ample sunshine most days and is surrounded on 3 sides by a small forest. The property is fenced and access is by gate. I offer multiple sites for camping and glamping.
All sites can use the portable toilet, shower and sink. We keep them clean, odor free and sanitized.
Bring your outdoor gear! Adventures aplenty here on the central coast. Your hosts are avid surfers, cyclists, hikers and can help direct you to the best spots to match your skill level. The property is close to town as well as bike loops, gravel roads and trails. We're also close to the beach. Within a short drive surfers of all levels can find something fun to ride nearly everyday. The 18 hole golf course is just down the street and the town of Waldport is 2 miles away. Yachats is a short 12 min drive to the south where you can find amazing restaurants like The Green Salmon Cafe where they serve fresh roasted coffee along with a large menu of drinks and treats.
White sand beaches are located just down the hill from us where you can walk all the way from the mouth of the Alsea river to the mouth of the Yachats river. Forested and easily accessible walking trails are also nearby. South of the property is Cape Perpetua - a natural wonderland with whales, tide pools, blowholes and a 26 mile trail system. Enjoy the scenic 15 mile drive from the farm to get there.

We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids.
The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago.
Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood.
BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast.

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options.
Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park.
The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin.
Other features include a fire pit, wood fired sauna, and creek access for cold dips. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests.
The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts.
The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few or many spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards.
The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

We are located 15 miles from King Estate and other local wineries, 15 miles from the Covered Bridge Scenic Bikeway, 45 miles from Eugene, and 2 hours from the coast, the mountains, and Portland. While the location is quiet and secluded, we are still an easy 5 minutes to I-5.
Yurt door is usually left unlocked, and we have not had any security issues. Upon request, we can provide guests with a key during their stay.
Unfortunately these accommodations are not ADA-accessible at this time.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE People from all backgrounds are welcome, but hate has no home here. Please respect our neighbors - we tend to wave to each other while in the neighborhood.
Other residents at this property include: 4 dogs (Duffy and Hamish, Leia and Suleyman), a flock of Romney sheep, 12 hens, 1 donkey (Gracie), 2 potbelly pigs (Hamlet and Pig), 3 cats (Apollo, Minerva, Zelda, and Opal), and multiple geese. Farm access is available upon instruction (proper gate security is a must!)
Unfortunately pets are not allowed at this time because of the animals.

'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene.
All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock.
Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask!
UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024.
The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry.
Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower.
There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos.
The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away.

Such a great place for a getaway and not having to set up a tent was even nicer for the shorter time away. The hosts were fantastic with communication and made sure we had everything we needed. We really appreciated all the little touches they had inside and outside of the tent. We did not expect the other tents to be as close as they were but the other guests were quiet and to themselves. We absolutely plan to be back and with friends to have even more fun on the creek!

Weekend Trip to The Land of AHS
Beautiful stay! My husband and I stayed one night and just like everyone else we wish we would've stayed longer. Don't be fooled by how far out of town it looks on the map, it is barely 10 minutes from downtown. You can barely hear the cars go by at night. the firewood was plentiful and dry, which made for a super hot fire even on a rainy night. The wood stove worked almost too well (lows were in the 40s) and the bed was comfortable. The composting toilet didn't smell at all, just of sawdust. The dog, Sadie, showed us around and was a very well behaved pup. The bathhouse was the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen at a campsite.

Weekend Trip to Tide's Reach of the Umpqua
This tucked away spot right on the Umpqua river was one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed. We swam in the river, cooked wonderful meals, and slept amazingly. The local street, and town were so welcoming. Lots of hidden nature spots, as well. The hosts were phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal, in communication, and suggestions, and how they prepared the space for our stay, etc. Truly 10/10. I will be coming back! Their guest book says it all- all of the things you need were there, the details provided a truly special getaway, and I am so glad we found this place! You will be lucky to come stay here.

Me and my girlfriend had such an amazing time at Jeff’s camp. The view was breathtaking and the river was perfect for kayaking on the provided kayaks and swimming when it was sunny out. The dome was incredibly comfortable and the kitchen shed proved an amazing addition. Everything was easy to use and Jeff was amazing with his communication our entire stay. Reaching out multiple times so make sure we had anything who may need. My only complaint would be we couldn’t stay longer!

Beautiful setting, off the beaten path but close enough for a day trip to the beach. Super cute housing and comfortable night stay. Amazing hosts that went above and beyond after an item was left. Steps away from the creek and dog friendly.

Tim was very help giving us a lay of the land. Camps were spaced out with lots of room for our dogs to run and play. Showers were great touch after a day of your feet in the sand. Over beautiful place to stay.

Weekend Trip to Sunset Bay Meadows
I loved the serene setting and gorgeous, unrestricted views of the night sky. Although we didn't use the showers or sauna, they were clean and available. The kids thought the chicks and open space to play baseball were the best part of the trip! I also appreciated how easy going and relaxed the site is about friendly dogs. Thanks for a great stay! We'd love to come back. Oh! The portapotties were also spotless!

I loved staying at Alsea Valley Farm! The host was very kind to me and my family. She left us fresh strawberries and sugar snap peas from her garden and introduced herself to us and showed us around the property. I would definitely stay here again!

1 night at Sunset Bay Meadows
The yurt was a very comfortable resting spot for us. We loved having the space for moving around in, with the picnic table and fire pit outside. The porta-potties were a short walk away.
Tim's instructions could use a fine-tuning, as there were a few features that threw us off:
1. No mention of the barrier gate located after the clubhouse and up the hill past the do not enter sign. It would have been helpful if there were a second HIP CAMP sign there, to let us know we were going the right way.
2. "you will come to the spt where the shower and sauna are".... From the outside, how were we to know that there were the showers and sauna in those little buildings? He knows what they are, but to a first-time visitor, we had no idea what was inside.
3. "You may go ahead and load up on potable water here." We could see a hose attached on the side of what appeared to be somebody's house, but is this what we were to use? It seemed like an invasion of privacy to use that one, but with that being the only place visible, we took the chance, hoping we would not have somebody come out and yell at us.
For the benefit of future campers, I suggest that Tim make these points more clear.

1 night at Nelson Mountain Gardens
We had tent camped for 3 nights down on coast and needed a place to spend a night to break up the long trip back to Portland. The Zen retreat was absolutely perfect for this! Located down a winding well paved country road, you feel far away from the hustle. We were greeted by Alyc and a couple of friendly dogs. They showed us around the stunning gardens and the amenities. Mary has built many of the structures and the craftsmanship of the sauna, cabin etc are remarkable! The Zen Den felt like a treehouse and was as described, but even more charming in person. We used the shower house and sauna and then slept so peacefully on the comfortable firm mattress. We did not light a fire in the cabin because it was warm enough without one. In the morning, we made coffee down in the communal kitchen over the barn. Composting outhouse toilet was adorable and as expected. Everything was neat and tidy and exceeded expectations! Enjoyed meeting the horse, cat and dogs. It was calming to explore the paths and little nooks on the gardens. Would love to stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Nelson Mountain Gardens
This was our last Oregon stop for our CA/OR road trip, and we could not have been more satisfied. The Zen Den gave us the best sleep we had all trip and Alys was very friendly and greeted us upon arrival/check-in. If you are looking for a place to get away and chill just outside Eugene, then this is your place. It has everything you need with a well maintained kitchen area, clean composting toilet, and fire-pit by the creek. Thank you Mary & Alys!
