Visiting the Hocking Hills ? No interest in crowded campgrounds ? you have found 75 acres mostly wooded with trails right at the start of the Hocking Hills. (easy access from 33 and to Logan) There are various places around the property to pitch a tent. The main valley camping area with electric and wifi is not being advertised this year, and will only be made available under certain circumstances. I can transport you and your gear to the remote site, or you can borrow the garden tractor and trailer. ATV's are also welcome on the property. Firewood will be provided for free and in abundant amount. The site on top of the hill is very secluded and surrounded by dogwood trees. The site above the rxrwinery.com is also secluded, mowed clearing in the mature woods. While on my property, Clothing is optional. If you are traveling with an RV, message me for special consideration.

Our family oriented outdoor recreation facility is open on weekends only and offers primitive camping, PYO produce during the growing season, homesteading activities & nature-based programs.
The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls.
In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflys. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods.
We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper.
We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river).

Upon arrival, park in your private lot and walk up the ramp to the Treehouse, you’ll unlock the electric keypad, and immediately be welcomed by your eat-in kitchen! The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. Microwave, hot-plate, mini fridge, Keurig, and all the cooking utensils you will need. Right outside the front door is a 22-in electronic Blackstone where you can make pancakes and bacon for breakfast, grilled cheese for lunch, or steaks for dinner! The Blackstone griddle has easily become our favorite way to prepare food outside.
Natural wood floors span the entire Treehouse to envelop you in the warmth of nature. Live edge wood shelves adorn the entire Treehouse, truly keeping nature alive. Beside the kitchen is a custom bunk sleeping and sitting area. Below doubles as a seating bench for meals or reading, and then at night converts into a twin-sized bed, and then just a few steps above is a second twin bed. Both of these are beside a gorgeous window offering sweeping views of a gorge of trees. Our custom coffee table doubles as your dining table, and extra prep space for cooking.
Every inch of the bathroom is custom in rustic greens and browns, and is fully stocked with everything you will need for your stay. The gorgeous green tiled shower is a perfect place to wash off a day of outdoor adventures or relax and spend a few more precious minutes in the steam. Did you forget to bring shampoo, soap, toothpaste, or anything else? No worries, all of these are provided and complimentary.
As you venture your way up the Treehouse steps you are welcomed into your charming and relaxing loft retreat. As you lay in the queen size luxury bed you can look out the supersized skylight to watch the tree canopy and the stars or wake up to some sunshine on your face. If you want to unwind with a movie or show, the 100-inch projection screen will come down, and you can log in to your accounts stream anything your heart desires. Your own personal home theater can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own bed or the crow’s nest suspended cargo net full of pillows and blankets. The balcony off the bedroom is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and watch the sun set over the trees and Lake Logan, or to start your day with a hot cup of coffee and listen to birds chirping among you.
The large deck outside the main floor is truly your sanctuary. Eating together in a seating area among the trees is completely private. Nestled in the midst of the trees you have 360 degree views of the best nature has to offer, and there’s even a suspended net hammock for two, to lay in to view the Hills above and below, and all around you. Awe-inspiring sunsets, spectacular views of the leaves changing, bird watching, and tranquil relaxation will be your 24/7 experience.
Under the Treehouse you will find a your own private grotto with 7 person hot tub, privacy screens and sitting area! Because of its location, it is protected from any weather, while still offering full-surround views of the woods and hills. (Note: if weather is extremely cold, we cannot guarantee the full hot tub temperature) Night time lighting and a variety of settings make this usable and fun in any weather, year-round. A fire pit is also available for enjoying hot dogs, s'mores and memories.
The entire Treehouse is yours! Exploring the surrounding land that the treehouse is built on is encouraged, you may even find some little surprises hid along the way, including a nearby Fairy Garden, pumpkin patch, apple orchard and peach trees to add to the adventure. There are marked paths that are open to all our rental guests, just please stay on those paths when exploring! Down the hill is the stunning Lake Logan State Park. A beautiful lake known for its fishing, sandy beach, volleyball nets, boat docks and boat rentals available.

Learn more about this land:I'm an artist and my husband and I have a small homestead with chickens and sometimes sheep/goats. Look out for electric netting to keep our herd/flock protected. The lighting over our back field is divine in the late afternoon, or if you prefer a wooded setting, we have a small wooded area across the street from our house. The area is hilly and rather private-- only one neighbor is visible when the trees are leafed out. Electric is accessible from an outlet at the backyard fence or in the barn. We often have fresh veggies and fruit in the garden in the summer, and sometimes extra farm fresh eggs. Nearby (10 minute drive) is Hargus lake, with boat rental and fishing. Also nearby is the Slate Run Historical Farm, (15 minute drive) which is a farm that is fully functioning as a farm from the 1880's with sheep, draft horses, hogs, and poultry and Slate Run Metro park, which has many woodland and wetland trails, as well as a covered bridge and several playgrounds. We are about 35 minutes from the Hocking Hills area, which is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in Ohio.

Raven's Retreat is a beautiful, 58 acre property located in the Hocking Hills, 2 miles east of Laurelville, Oh. This land has remained mostly untouched and was purchased due to its resemblance to the deep woods of West Virginia, home to Raven's mother, Lisa Mahaney. The property is dear to us and we do everything we can to protect and maintain it in its natural state. It contains 4 creeks, hiking trails, a pond, and the top of a ridge. There are several endangered species including whippoorwills and two lined salamanders that reside at Raven's Retreat. There is an abundance of wildlife present due to keeping this property as wild as possible. While no hunting or fishing is allowed, wildlife viewing stations have been setup for guests to observe the creatures and we are working with local environmental specialists to ensure that we maintain a thriving, healthy place for them.
We do our best to keep the human traffic on the property low but we want people to feel free to explore our challenging trails. There are about 2 miles of Hiking trails on the property that are not heavily traveled. The elevation change from the top of our ridge to the deepest part of our creek bed is over 220ft. If you plan to hike our trails, please keep strong scents such as perfumes to a minimum. This is often overlooked, but it can be confusing and disturb the wildlife. We greatly respect our water, and have natural springs here on the property. More important to us is that our guests have a quality experience rather than flooding the woods with a lot of people.
If you want to venture out, there are also many famous parks with hiking trails in the area, such as Rock House, Conkles Hollow, and many other Hocking Hills State Parks.
Quiet hours are to be honored and kept when the sun goes down. A respectful noise level is to be kept in consideration for our neighbors and nocturnal animals. 💡 Please note, we do consider the effects of light pollution and use particular lights to lessen our impact on the night creatures.
Please do not bring your animals with you if you are staying at Pollinator Cabin here at Raven's Retreat. We love animals but in the past, domestic animals such as dogs and cats have attacked our wildlife more than once so we ask that they do not come with you to this particular space. Domestic animal friends are welcome to come to our campsites, but must be tied out or on a leash while at the campsites or while hiking through the woods. No domestic animals are permitted to be off a leash in the woods on the property. There are endangered species present here.
Our space is for all peaceful people and we recommend the mentality of, "we're here together, so let's learn to live well together."
We have been Vegan Lifestyle Coaches for years, known for introducing people to plant derived foods, so don't be surprised if we leave food out for you to try.
