From our parking area, our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) by way of a well maintained footpath which leads you alongside a farm pasture, to a wooded trail that empties on to a level forest understory ideal for your hammock or tent. Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a table, your own private outhouse, and unlimited sights and sounds of nature.
Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to one of our best stargazing hilltops, to the shallow creek which runs alongside the campsite, through shaded forests and ridgetop views. Our pond, a short 7 minute hike, offers fishing, swimming or simply relaxing on the dock. For longer hikes, all trails connect to our larger network of maintained trails winding over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open (mowed) pasture trails offering the hiker farm-life views across our 80 acres.

This area was known by the Native Americans as "Pocatalico" (land of the fat doe), and first settled by Europeans around 1890. The property itself was first settled by a man named Mayford Jones, who set the first stones here around 1910. A Jenny Lynn style farmhouse was built and the property was known as one of the best developed farms in the area. This area was known by the Native Americans as "Pocatalico" (land of the fat doe), and first settled by Europeans around 1890. The property itself was first settled by a man named Mayford Jones, who set the first stones here around 1910. A Jenny Lynn style farmhouse was built and the property was known as one of the best developed farms in the area. Today, the forest has returned to what was once pasture land on the majority of the 100 acre plot, and a small but intensive sustainable forest farm has been taking shape since 2013 under the current host and occupant, who prefers the term "steward" rather than "owner".

Family-Owned 43+ acres. nearly all wooded. This property has been minimally developed so as to allow it to be as clean and as natural of possible. There are some trails making hiking the property easier. A few locations on the property are available for quite private camping stays or family friendly getaways.
When you drive up the driveway stick to the right. The houses on the left are different properties. Park where the driveway first levels off or up near the flagpole. Trails are not meant for vehicles. Dual purpose / adventure motorcycles are ok to drive right up to the sites. No ATV's
Solar/fire heated shower near the flagpole. Closed during colder months (Nov-April). Always test the water temperature before use.

This is a 12.5 acre mini farm. We have a garden, bee hive, 30 fruit trees, bamboo, hard wood trees, 4 wheeler trails, a pig, guinea fowl, chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, and dogs. We are working on a site for a single meat cow too!
We have 2 sites, 1 is a trailer and 1 is a camping spot/cabin on top of our mountain. The cabin up there was built in the 60-70’s probably and is a total mess. People are welcome to stay in it if they choose. There is plenty of area for multiple tents near the cabin.
The trailer is a basic 1990’s trailer. Everything works in it. There is a furnace, 2 full size beds, a full kitchen and bath. There is a window AC for hot days.

This tiny (about 150 sq feet) eco cabin is nestled in the hills and hollows of Meigs County Ohio on 6.6 secluded acres of mostly wooded land on a private, dead end gravel lane. A superb place to bird watch, identify native plants and trees, and stargaze as the cabin is located in one of the darkest places in Ohio. Guest parking is at the front gate of the property. Be prepared to walk and carry all of your belongings up a steep hill that is about 50 yards long.
To access the queen bed in the loft, you will need to be able to assemble and hang up a ~40 wooden ladder to the loft.
There is no outdoor lighting, so if you plan to arrive after dark, bring a bright flashlight or head lamp as you will not be able to see anything.
The cabin is stocked with spices, teas, coffees, hot chocolate, and all you need to cook meals. There is a microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, and propane grill.
Please DO NOT flush toilet paper. Put in lined trash bin.

Highly recommend! This cabin is perfect. Not only is it beautiful, but it is clean and fully stocked with anything you might need. The wood burning stove keeps it incredibly warm and cozy in the winter. The property surrounding the cabin is beyond beautiful! There are hiking trails and a stream that can be heard from the cabin's porch. The site is very private and quiet. I also can't say enough good things about the host Craig! Incredibly nice, quick to respond, and willing to whatever to make your trip perfect. I can't wait to go back!!!

This is a funky little spot, don't be put off by the drive in. Mike has created a number (5?) of leveled gravel full hook up sites pretty close together, but very nice. Sweet communal fire pit right on a deck overlooking a little river. Fantastic bathroom with running hot water and shower! We would definitely camp here again. Thank you Mike.

Weekend Trip to Walnut Falls Escape
Fantastic! Despite some of the drawbacks others have noted, my now fiance and I had a great time! I booked this cabin because of the incredible privacy, and mainly to propose in Hocking Hills! (She said yes 😎)
Craig was a very nice host and made sure the cabin was well stocked. Despite no running water it had everything you could think to need, and overall you can tell the cabin was built with safety/comfort in mind.
We will definitely be staying here again! Thanks Craig!

What a cool little place. Stanley and his family have something going for them. The cabin as your night time ambiance is great for any dark enthusiast. 4 German Shepherds for those lovers of the breed. Having the turkey as your white noice was a great experience. We loved our stay at the A-Frame. It was more secluded than expected which was nice. It is about 1/4 mile from where you park. Logan will help you haul your stuff in his Gator which was super helpful when we were leaving in the rain. We had a peaceful stay and explored Lake Hope State Park, dined at Pleasant Hill Winery, and enjoyed Jennifer's delicious homemade and locally sourced breakfast burritos.

The cabin is a little small, but it comfortably housed my wife and I. Everything was very clean with all of the amenities that we needed for the weekend. A very nice spot for a weekend retreat for two people. There's also a huge stack of western and war DVDs if you want to check those out!
