104 acres of private land for your enjoyment. This site would be best suited for tent campers at the moment due to no bath houses or electricity for the time being. Come enjoy your stay bring a kayak or canoe and float around the 6 acres of ponds and catch some of the many bass, bream or crappie that occupy the waters. The property is located 7 miles off highway 74/76 in Whiteville and 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw, 32 miles to Ocean Isle Beach, 45 miles to Wilmington, 36 miles to North Myrtle Beach. The road is gravel all the way to the camping area with signs for directions. When there’s no burn ban in place or lack of rain i do try to keep firewood on-site but I recommend checking with me before your stay. Reserve your spot and experience the peace and quiet of the outdoors and listen to the turkeys and watch the deer feed in early mornings while the sun rises. This is a place to get away and enjoy nature but you aren't too far from a local grocery store, a few restaurants and a local park. If you are here for the beach, the closest beach and also our favorite is Cherry Grove Beach, only a 30 minute drive. There are a few kayak rental companies we can connect you to if you'd like and we know all the local spots for adventure, food and shopping. Pick a hammock and relax listening to the birds, we also have an outdoor kitchen to prepare food and community firepits to gather around. We are located in southeast NC, approximately 15-20 miles from area beaches. Our location is very "country" with lots of wildlife (deer, fox, rabbits, birds, etc...) roaming about. It is very quiet in the evenings and overnight. The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter".
Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). The book contains our WiFi password (service not guaranteed). Please leave us a note about your stay.

OPENING DOOR:
* The wall is on a rope pulley system with a hand crank. Simply crank the pulley and the door will open. PLEASE HOLD the rope as you do this so the door doesn’t slam down then slowly lower the door. Photos in guidebook as well

It was such a great experience. The covered wagon is beautiful so much more than we expected. The property is gorgeous with horses roaming in the fields, a large gazebo with seating and a fire pit, adorable swings made out of horse saddles (my grandkids loved them) There are also cute cottages that can be rented and sites for RVs, small or large. I highly recommend the a Rusty Spur.

Even through a weekend of rain, we still had a great time! We were on the end at Site 12 and had a awesome view of the river. We were also just stones throw away from the community area with tables and hammocks. Took out the floats and relaxed on the river. Will definitely be returning one day!

Weekend Trip to Laurel Oaks Estate
We absolutely loved our stay at Laurel Oaks! We took out the Jon boat while it rained in the pond, saw the gator Stephen and even a river rotter in the pond doing some laps! Caught a crappie and enjoyed good drinks, laughs and memories outside on the property. We did stop by the game room for an hour or so and played some darts and pool and enjoyed ourself. Had some good food and drinks at near by restaurants. The little AC struggled in the little bear cabin at night however, it still provided some relief from this brutal summer heat while we slept. The tent was clean and had everything we needed. I also loved the little shower and sink set up they had it was very refreshing to clean up in. I would highly recommend! I will say I did at one point fall out of the Jon boat into the pond, it’s surprisingly deep. I would not recommend taking a plunge as I did especially knowing Stephen the gator was a few feet away watching me struggle to get back in the boat while I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. 🤣

This property is absolutely beautiful!! What a treat to wake up to horses grazing while watching the sunrise. Only to be eclipsed by the sunsets. RV spots have level concrete landing pads with plenty of space to back in, fire pit and super comfortable Adirondack chairs. This Hipcamp is quiet, peaceful and gated. Just minutes from restaurants and downtown. Laurel Oaks is a must stay!

This spot is very beautiful and meticulously maintained. I could have sat outside and watched the butterflies and birds all day. The outdoor shower was a delight, I felt like I was in Hawaii surrounded by all the flowers. Really not that far off I-95 but you feel like you're at a retreat miles and miles away.

Absolutely Beautiful!!! Great landscaping, birds and butterflies galore. My 3rd trip there and it is getting prettier by the day. Trees are very tall. Lots of shade. If you need internet when you stay, stay elsewhere. Connection not good but not really needed for the Beauty on the campground. The hosts are phenomenal. Period. I wish all hosts would take a lesson from Cedar Creek Campground. Will camp there again

The campsite was nice and quite most of the time. The river was very low though, we lost many hooks by getting caught on the brush and stumps. We didn't have good luck with fishing, they just was not bitting. It did rain a good bit of our time there but overall the site itself was very peaceful and that was nice.
