My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. There are several state parks nearby and river tubing within 10 -30 minutes. Hot showers and potable water just a few feet away.

It's located about 12 miles North of Burlington, NC. 1 Mile off of the highway. It is very private, and seculed, no humans around. It's just one 12x16 tent platform next to this beautiful natural rock formation, you might think you're in the mountains. The drive into the camp is best suited for 4x4, Jeeps, SUV and such.

Our farm is an agritourism/sheep farm that offers seasonal events, educational workshops, a petting zoo, Bed and Breakfast, farm store, and camping area!
We are a working farm during the week but we allow camping on weekends or weekdays. The price is the same except the petting zoo and farm store are only open on weekends.
We don't have hookups, so bring a generator if you need it. If you need to fill up your RV water tank, we charge $10. Each of the 3 sites has a fire ring and picnic table.
A Grill Pavilion is available to rent for $20 extra. See photos. Propane is included.
We allow check-ins during the week after 12 noon, perfect for folks passing through and just need a safe and quiet place to park for the night and not interested in visiting the farm store, the barnyard or the rest of the farm, which are closed during week.
If you are looking for a petting zoo experience or want to browse our farm store, we are only open from 10-4 weekends. However, we do offer camp side service for things like fresh eggs, sausage, ground beef, firewood, jams or honey. You can order those items through the app here, or once you arrive, you can send us a message through the app and we will deliver to your camp site. We accept card or cash.
While we are dog-friendly, we do not allow dogs closer to the petting zoo area. We offer a 1+ acre fenced in area next to the camping sites where you can allow your dogs off-leash. No extra charge.
Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded.
There is also 1 regularly maintained porta potty located in this area.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE: Turn into the driveway and up towards the house. You will enter the camping area through the open double gates on your left. Pull up to either site next to the blue porta potty.

Ancient Spring Farm is a beautiful little farm tucked away in the country. You can really tell that Rebecca has put hard work and love into every acre. The animals are playful and lively, and the chickens curious and explorative! Staying under the old shed helped keep the camper cool, and was a real blessing when storms came through! I wasn't able to do any of the farm add-ons during my trip but I'm hoping to stay again soon when I have more time and take a couple classes and tours. Really was a great stay, looking forward to coming back!

This is an elite campsite, and we had an amazing stay. We had everything we needed, Beth and Darin were very accommodating, and we were lucky to meet baby pigs. This was our Basecamp for hiking in Hanging Rock SP, and it exceeded our expectations. Simply put. Stay here. We'll be back.

What a great campsite next to Hanging rock state park! The site felt very private and such a great view of the sunset and mountains. The hosts take great care of the property and leave ample cleaning supplies for the poop shed. There is a dollar general only a few minutes from the site. Was a very relaxing experience!

Had a great time tent camping at Kohler Farms!
I visited during the heat of the summer, but the shaded grassy area and wades in the creek kept me and my dog cool as could be.
The site was exceptionally well-maintained. I am just getting back into camping since my youth, and this was my first Hipcamp trip. After being a bit disappointed with the amount of trash at some state parks recently, this private site was a breath of fresh air, absolutely spotless!
My dog loved the freedom, the visits from other pets, and watching the giant Shire horses on the property. The unlimited firewood bins were an incredible bonus. I would highly recommend this site to anyone and will definitely be back!

Love this place. I have been there 4 years in. A row. Very quite and private feeling. Large pavillion that stays shady even on the hotter days of summer with fridge, electricity, fire pit with anything you would need. The fishing is always fun. And the owners are very friendly people there to help you if you have any issues. It has a couple hiking trails that's great exercise before returning for a jump off the dock into the cool water. Absolutely recommend for simple campers looking for a few days get away or family with kids trying to show them the off screen world.

This is a GEM of a spot. My family (2 adults, 2 dogs) and our 2 besties go here every year in late Spring/Early Summer. We talk about WTL all year long, and we think about getting back as soon as we leave on the last day. Our dogs have the time of their lives there. It is peaceful, spread out, well equipped, safe, and hosted by some extremely good and friendly folks. We feel so lucky to be able to camp here!

I took my first solo camping trip here and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. I over prepared, as Wendy had everything I needed to feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed. Truly a one of a kind property. I also took some time to do an impromptu tubing session as suggested by her, and had a BLAST. I hope to be back soon!

This campsite is a hidden gem, assuming you define "gem" as "exactly what the listing said it would be." It was a perfect site four overnight getaway!!
The Infrastructure
The Creek: Perfectly little. Did creek things.
The Toilet: Mysteriously clean. I didn’t ask questions.
The Horses: Majestic, probably. They refused to socialize, opting to stay at a distance and aggressively stomp like disappointed parents.
The Terrain: Actually flat. Our two trailers and camper van fit without anyone sliding into the water. A perfect, low-stakes environment for the maiden voyage of my "new-to-me" teardrop camper.
The Fire Situation: There was a pit. There was wood. There was a trash can. 10/10 for basic thermodynamic compliance.
The True Authorities
The highlight was the canine union. Two dogs showed up immediately to supervise our setup, staring intently to ensure we didn’t compromise structural integrity or slack off.
One supervisor conducted a midnight audit while we were by the fire. She bypassed our perimeter, bypassed barking, and announced her presence via a cold, wet leg-lick while her eyes glowed in the dark. It successfully paralyzed one of our campers. Excellent security tactics.
The Verdict
It’s secluded in a shady holler with a nice breeze, yet close enough to grocery stores that you don’t have to cosplay *Cast Away*. We will be back—mostly because the dogs know what we look like now.
