Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Love Shack

Our stay was great. The love shake was a great size four two and two dogs. She has very helpful amenities throughout the camp spot. The dogs loved the creak and the trail. The trail was about a 15 minute walk, a must do. She was very responsive and accomidating. The outhouse looks intimidating on the pictures but it was very nice. Clean and no odor at all. The showers were great, clean and plenty of hot water.

Wes and Caitlin were incredibly welcoming hosts! Their little country club is such a charming spot—peaceful, cozy, and full of character. We arrived pretty late, but the directions were super clear, and they thoughtfully left the lights on for us, which made settling in a breeze. We had a lovely stay and left feeling totally recharged and ready to hit the road again. Can’t wait to come back for a longer camping trip next time. Thank you both for the hospitality!

Magical Farm setting. My kids absolutely loved the cabin and all the farm animals. The owners are lovely humans. This was a memorable break from the suburbs. My kids fell in love with their cat named Garr.

My stay was short, as I arrived after 6pm in the rain and left by 9am. Everything seemed fine. I would have enjoyed staying a bit longer in the morning to enjoy the many birds around my site. (I heard an owl just outside at night!)I also would have loved to have roamed the farm a bit to check out the animals and whatever else was there.

1 night at Rural Chapel Hill Forestry Stay

This place is amazing, well off the road and quiet. It did rain, so the owner allowed us to park on the driveway, which was just as good as being in the field. They really have a hidden gem out here. Their driveway is super long and adds to the feeling of being even more hidden away from society...it was an easy drive in, plenty of room. They have big plans for the area out there and I see them having nothing but success!

Absolutely loved it, hosts were super sweet also have a cute little farm shop with all the necessities you could need or may have forgotten, showers, electricity, and bathrooms on site which is nice, will definitely be back again! Also forgot to mention the creek that was beautiful falling asleep to and waking up to as well!

We genuinely enjoyed staying here. The family greeted us with smiles, giving us a tour around the property. We stayed in the shade and got to fish. Different types of fish too! Only caution, ticks. Within the first few minutes of setting up camp myself and my Sister In Law had a tick on us. So, make sure you have repellent.

Listening to the creek at night was wonderful. The sites are not too close together, and I enjoyed the hiking trail and hot shower! I would definitely recommend Crooked Mountain!

We really enjoyed staying here, but I’m very grateful we brought along our tent because the cabin was infested with bugs which made it inhabitable. But everything else was perfect! We loved the outdoor shower and private access to the creek for launching our kayaks. There was a little more noise and light pollution than we cared for (could hear vehicles from highway 24/7) and of course the donkey and roosters but that was expected, and comical! The property is beautiful and it was a great weekend 🩷

Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Love Shack

We loved our weekend at the Mystic Meadow love shack! This was our first experience with HipCamp and it did not disappoint. The site was so peaceful and cute and had so many fun and intentional details! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom, showers and cabin were all very clean and well appointed. We had total privacy but Wendy checked in periodically to make sure that all was well. The stream sounds were wonderfully peaceful and sitting on the swing by the stream, relaxing in the hammock and enjoying our coffee by the fire in the mornings were highlights. A truly wonderful place for a relaxing adventure. I hope that we can return soon!

Site 5 was great, with easy access into the stream. We could see our neighbors to the left, but I imagine you might have more privacy when the trees are fuller. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back to check out some other sites in the future!

This spot is such a great find! Plenty of space to spread out and nice and private! Host was super welcoming and helpful. We loved how close it is to hanging rock state park.

Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, just let us know how much you will need so we will have it ready for you. Our new CAMP STORE offers firewood (delivered to your site!) , meats and eggs from our farm, Tallow & lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish made ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE! Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 150+ acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣 Our cows, pigs, sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks, quail, and geese are all eager to meet you, as are we! We are located along the historic Crooked Road Music Trail and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 159.3. The picturesque town of Floyd is only 4 miles away, with easy access to music, shopping, multiple grocery stores, local and international themed restaurants - all with a true feeling of Appalachian hospitality. There are 6 creek-side campsites and open-field campsites in the peaceful field with a view of the pond, all with access to our hiking trail. We have been developing our dream property and wanted to welcome visitors with affordable tent camping in an incredibly beautiful area of the country. Also, on the property we have a store stocked with essential camping needs, local products, artisan items, coffee, souvenirs and more. During the summer we offer a "YouPick" flower experience in our crop field (come purchase a container and pick your own bouquet of flowers). Peak season for flowers is during August to September. A small homestead on the bank of Abbotts Creek near where it feeds into High Rock Lake. Peace and solitude , but close to the amenities of town. Less than a five minute drive to the grocery store, and less than a fifteen minute drive to uptown Lexington. Public access for kayaks is less than half a mile away. And the view is unbelievable! We have a corn hole board and bags now available for use, as well as a few other yard games. Please let us know if you are interested in using them. The edible landscape is available for you to enjoy. A list of current available items is posted in our greenhouse, as well as baskets for picking and foraging.
