A family of 9 children were all born in the old farm house that has since burned when struck by lightning in 2009. I work full time as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner plus have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the chickens, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

In nearby Hartsville and Cheraw there are several golf courses and places for Kayak rentals. Neptune Island waterpark in Hartsville. We have a hidden Creek that is fun to hike to by way of a trail. Small pond for fishing, plenty of room for hiking and bike riding ( grassy, sandy, rolling hills). Beautiful hills to camp on and watch an unobstructed view of the Carolina sunset and sunrise that peak through wooded acreage. Choose a tent camp location or pull/drive your RV/camper right near our cow pasture and watch the cows graze. Fresh drinking water at campsites. Bathroom and sun heated shower. Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. At night enjoy the sounds of wildlife while watching the highly visible twinkling stars and tracing the many constellations and if lucky see a shooting star or two.

We accept last minute with a phone call, before 10:00pm please. We have been delayed to our destination by that blown tire and needed an unplanned place to stay for the night. If you are traveling with horses we have a pasture for them, $20 per night per horse. We are easy to get into and can handle rigs up to 45ft. Hope we see you in your travels!

The McKenzies played a big role in the building of Pinehurst with the Grist Mill Parties and even
the famous little cabin aptly named
The Womens Exchange in Pinehurst, NC being purchased from Author McKenzie who himself was raised in in this beautiful home.

that was once inhabited by our Native American Indian as many Indian Points have been pulled from the fields on the property.
In its last days as a working farm it was a tobacco farm. There are remnants of the past life scattered around. Including The Green Barn;
a 2 story tobacco barn where the tobacco was strung on tobacco sticks, hung on rafters to be
cured and taken to market.
Memories of times past linger all around, after 200 years it is still standing and ready for
many more memories to carry on for generations to come....I am only its keeper for now, until I pass and it is then up to the
future McKenzie generations to keep the light burning....
