3 nights at Wanderlust Woods

I loved tent camping, the host was very accomodabile and responsive. The location was just perfect, right outside of the Great Smokey Mountains! Very close to Gatlinburg! Me and my friends had a very good time, in spite of the light chilly weather, We had a cozy fire going!

Pat gave us an incredible welcome to the property and it was quickly clear this would be an amazing stay. I mean, I saw a peacock and baby buffalo in 10 minutes of our arrival! We came for a local soccer tournament in Johnson City and a couple of our teammates camped out too. Thank you for everything Pat and I hope we'll be back! -Matthew

2 nights at Cherokee Waterfall Campground

Won't be long until this is a a top HipCamp in North Carolina. I've done 8-10 mile hikes where the pinnacle was not as rewarding as Cherokee Waterfall campground. Richard is a superb host: thorough and communicative yet left us our space on arrival, I got the feeling he understands why folks choose this style of camping... solitude and peace in nature! Plus he delivered dry firewood for a fair price. Full hook-ups on a level site / flushing toilet and hot shower /fire pit / privacy with a locked gate at the entrance. We'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Gateway to the Smokies

It was a neat expierence. Super Easy access to the place and was easy to find. Dollar general and a gas station was a super short walk away. The only downside was being so close to the main hwy, but I knew beforehand it would be loud. Michael is very responsive answered any questions I had. I was able to fit 2, 3 person tents and 1, 2 person tent inside the square. With room for another to fit.

Great place! Would recommend this place to anyone with dogs. Mine went in and out of the river all weekend, not worried about other people or them wandering too far. He was kind and helped find local hikes, brought fresh apples and cabbage. Will be back 100%

We went out to Creekside Paradise in late March when it was overcast and there was a burn ban. Even with these conditions the site was lovely! The creek is beautiful and the site is well maintained. Thankful to be able to get out to a nice site after the storm. Would definitely recommend for the warmer months.

I loved my stay at this site Michael was very accommidating and attentive , he is very knowledgeable in the area as far as things to do . He told me about The Smokie Mountain Railroad a 4 and half hour ride through the mountains it was amazing it capped off a great week . Overall it was a great experience.

We stopped by on our way home to Maine in late March .We had a lovely spot up at the top of a field with a fantastic view. There is a nicely mowed path that follows a fence line , which makes for a nice morning walk. There are all kinds of fun things to look at down by the pond including a surprise in the “ old out house “ The date bars that the host gave us were very much appreciated not to mention delicious ! There is a bit of road noise but I suspect once the leaves are on the trees this will be cut down. A very lovely spot to visit.

I had the opportunity to stay at this Hipcamp location for three nights! The directions to get there were perfect and appreciated! The site is exactly, if not better, than described! The host’s dog is the best! The sunsets were indescribable and the stars were like nothing I’ve ever seen! It is so dark! Thank you for sharing your beautiful land with me! I am hoping to be back!

We had a wonderful weekend camping at campsite 6! It was nicely tucked away giving us plenty of space and privacy. The property and the area is beautiful. Pat and Johnny were amazing hosts, friendly and welcoming. My partner loves Buffalo and getting to feed their Buffalo, Sammy, was a real treat. We hope to come back this summer. Absolutely recommend!

Neat camping spot! Sweet solitude! Spectacular creek that would be nice in summer for a dip. It is roughly a 30 min drive to Maggie Valley (the town). You'll definately need a vehicle with clearance and if there is rain/snow you'd need 4 wheel drive.

This is a DRY SITE. Your camping vehicle must be able to hold both sewage and gray water. The site borders a North Carolina trout stream. We reserve the right to cancel if you do not comply. The campsite is about 1.25 acres and part of a larger property. We set up a travel trailer here while we built our home. Recently one of our neighbors, who does quite a bit of camping, set up their travel trailer in the same spot while their home was being painted. Cherokee Waterfall Campground

Please read the entire listing because I have updated this page and renovated the property! Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. There is a house and a church on the same road so please drive slowly. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but contact before you book the site to confirm if your dog will be a good fit. If you know your dog barks constantly of other people while camping then it will not be a good fit. I charge for dogs the same as I do for extra guests There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. Learn more about this land:You’ll cross the covered bridge (clearance 11’6” ) as you enter our farm, a 73 acre small family farm, nestled in the Buffalo Valley of Northeast TN, and featuring a down home country atmosphere. What makes our farm special are all of the unique extras: a working log cabin blacksmith shop, log cabin art gallery, certified commercial kitchen, lots of watchable wildlife, and walking trails. We have a one acre wildlife pond and a smaller pond fed by springs and Buffalo Creek, which runs through the farm.
