3 nights at Black River Camping Ventures

This was our second campout at Black River Ventures with a group of kayakers. It's a beautiful location right along the slow moving river. Peaceful and quiet as we listened to wild turkeys, owls and Chuck wills widow calls. The kayaking is excellent right from camp winding around huge cypress trees. Lisa checked on us often. All was well!

Great place. Very quiet, secluded. Lots of sounds of frogs, birds and even a beaver. Sean even gave me some fresh eggs upon my arrival. Recommended.

We absolutely loved this place. So peaceful and relaxing. Being close to restaurants was nice. Bring your poles , great fishing here.

Black River Camping Ventures is a little slice of heaven, especially for paddle sports enthusiasts. The campground was beautiful, clean and quiet. We saw lots of wildlife too! Lisa is the sweetest and made us feel very welcomed.

Loved this camp ground!!! All sites are right on the river, very clean and very well maintained. Host was amazing! Absolutely beautiful!

2 nights at Scott’s Lakeview Camp and Park

So we really enjoyed Scottview lake! We picked our campsite based on other reviews because there wasn’t a lot of pictures. We pulled up and the park owner met us out there and showed us where to go. Campsite 5 is in the woods and you either need a small vehicle to get in there or either hike your stuff down. If you like to be excluded from others, campsite five would be perfect for a small campsite. But the owner give us permission since no one else had scheduled to stay in any other lot that we wished. I would have to say that campsite for is by far the best site at Scott view Lake. It has its own little private fishing Cove and a nice fire pit and plenty of room. The area was extremely large and was really nice and the kids enjoyed catching fish. No water or electrical hook ups, but the owner allows folks to fill up water containers, which we done. This place is awesome and it will not be our last trip there that’s for sure. Plenty of sun for solar, charging, and plenty of shade for sun covering. If we stayed again, we would definitely stay in campsite four because I felt like it was the best campsite there. I hope this helps everyone in the future, but I definitely recommend this area and this place for camping for anybody looking for a private safe and quiet campsite.

We can't recommend Black River Camping Ventures enough! The campground was absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. Lisa was an incredible host and was very responsive in answering any of our questions and working with us to accommodate our large group. A true gem of a place that many of our group hope to return to in the future!

This place was such a blessing. Just what we needed. We live an hour away at the beach I love to kayak but needed a new go to. The Black River is beautiful with the cypress and oaks. Something different. The campground is impeccable, the sites, the port-a-potties, the common area. Great layout. I would feel comfortable going in my own as a single female, bonus. I will definitely be going back.

Weekend Trip to The Cozy Heron Glamping

I loved the covered wagon! We stayed in Swamp Rose The preview pictures were spot on, clean, spacious, heater/AC, mini fridge, mini microwave, coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea, 4 bottles of water, smores, towels ! It was so fun! We built a fire, toasted the smores , talked with the neighbors The rest rooms were clean and spacious Checking in and out was a breeze

Lisa’s campground was quiet and beautiful. As a solo woman camper I felt comfortable there. The sites are deep and there are lots of options for where to pitch a tent. That was a nice find since the sites were a bit closer together than I expected. I visited on a weekend that wasn’t busy, so it wasn’t a problem for me. It’s also still winter so there wasn’t any privacy offered by brush or foliage. I’ll definitely be back! The kayak launch area is very cute and a great addition to the campground. As others noted, the campground is very clean and it’s obvious that Lisa takes wonderful care of the space.

Lisa's riverside campground is absolutely beautiful and serene! Lisa was very sweet to check up on me upon arrival and made sure I had everything I needed. Black river is the perfect place to escape and truly enjoy nature. I can't wait to come back this summer to see all the greenery and swim in the river!
